I’d swap the travel wallet for concealed waist belt with cash, passport, and extra credit card in case I lose or someone steals my purse. I also take copies of my passport and credit card backs and put in my suitcase and carry and also a copies of my itinerary so I can still function if they get lost or stolen from me. This is especially important if you have everything in your phone and it’s get lost or stolen. There was a gentleman in the hotel lobby in Portugal and he lost his phone and was freaking out because he also had his only credit card on the back in a slot on phone. I felt really bad for him but it’s a lesson learned!

A toothbrush, toothpaste, face wash, deodorant, and spare panties always come with me in my personal bag. You never know when you'll have an unexpected layover and your checked bag is unaccessible (for flights when I'm not traveling carry-on only).

Generally, I'm a carry-on-only lady, so I make sure to keep everything really streamlined. I fell in love with ten mil squeezy bottles from Amazon last year -- what a difference! So many travel-sized products are still very bulky, so those save me lots of space. In contrast, I like the 2 oz travel jars -- if anyone knows where to find them nowadays, please tell me!
As for the actual products, I like to take products that multitask; cold cream can take off makeup, cleanse, and moisturize, a good moisturizer can also tame flyaways & keep my ends soft, a tinted sunscreen can serve as my base, etc., etc. Another product I've fallen in love with: powder sunscreen! Great for touch-ups, and also to help with shine!

VI poo, Andrex toilet wipes, my small compact mirror that I won in an Xmas cracker! I wear the jewellery that I take (which isn't much). Travel tissues, vaseline pot for lip balm. I avoid the toilets on the plane, if possible, I tend to rush to the airport terminal toilets as they are better maintained and more spacious and pleasant to use.

Dragging that cubic hard jewellery case around had me aghast.... My well-travelled mother used a Chinese silk brocade jewellery roll since back in the 70s - soft, lightweight, easy to pack into small nooks in your suitcase/bag.

I pride on being prepared for anything when travelling. I always pack a pair of extra underwear and tampons, some sweets or energy bar for blood sugar drops and a small first aid kit with pain killers and some plasters. Oh and a face mist is lovely after a flight. Thank you for a great video!

  • @karencruz3122

Hi Gemma!!! Thank you for this video! I always have a packing list! Hand wipes and Clorox wipes are #1! A close 2nd are tissue, lip gloss, and a small refillable spray bottle of rose facial toner. I have a really small amber glass spray bottle (half an ounce) that allows me to spritz a light mist that is refreshingly cool and moisturizing to my face, neck, and hands! Layering is essential to regulating your body temperature! My last must travel item is a cross body handbag to keep everything close and in front of you for ease of access. It also allows you to have your hands free for all the other necessary tasks! Also, put your cross body handbag on before your overcoat for extra security and protection!❀

I am a frequent traveler both internationally and domestically. For the most part, I try to only carry on. For long haul flights, those neck pillows are worthless. I use a small down filled pillow that can be stuffed into a very small sack. It is great and just the right size. In my small carry on, I also put a small comb. That way I don't have to get into the larger carry on for my brush when I am on the flight. The blanket/wrap is great, but I have found that a wool/silk pashmina is my preferred "cover". It is stylish, lightweight but warm when the plane gets cool.

Had 3 very Long flights over the last 12 months..
Elizabeth Arden fragrance free - 8 hour cream and
Lipbalm, a saltwater spray for the nose in the very dry sometimes warm Cabin, a flexible head pillow, wich has good support , as the soft cheap “wobbely” ones are not a good support. A firm one wich alsupport your chin , is a must for me..
And a very little bottle with ricinus Oil , wich helps you to prevent dry skin
Or a drop through your hair before landing, wich make your hair shine a lot
Travelling from a very cold destination, i wear thin wool t shirt and Long Johns , and take it of in the bathroom when we are halfway.
It really saves space, as you dont need your warm coat as you departure, and it helps me keeping warm at wintertime, in the Long cold corridors in the airport in the waiting area and boarding .

It still amazes me how people STARE at me when I wipe down the armrests/tray table/headrest/window ledge/seat/air nozzles. I've done this even before the pandemic. I also started using 'orphan socks' (the one sock wonders we all seem to have after laundry day, regardless of using a mesh bag😆) when going through the TSA detector.
About 15 years ago, I was headed for a flight. Ahead of me, a very nervous service dog had gone through. (I thought it would have been more feasible to wand the pet parent and pup but I guess the fur mum wasn't aware.) Anyway, I noted to the agent that the floor was wet and I requested to be wanded. But I was already in my socks. I went through on the other side and was so disgusted that I just chucked the socks. Glad they were fairly cheap ones, but I got the idea from then on to always put on a pair of orphan socks over my knee highs/thin socks so when I get to the bench on the other side, I can just whip them off and slip my loafers back on.
This way, when I go through, I just peel off the outer ones and my clean socks are still with me. I know I'm single handedly contributing to landfills, but seeing I travel by air about 90% less than probably anyone else, I'll take the heat for it.
As far as packing cubes go, I can't say enough about them! I still have my parachute material ones first set from WM from 7 years ago. (3/$10 can't be beat!) No rips/stains/holes at all. My very first time using them was on extended visits to see my dad when Alzheimer's set in then as he went into hospice before he passed. Going from GA to NY every 3 to 4 months for 3 years, I needed to travel with as little as possible and be able to carry on my NY winter weather essentials.
A woman ahead of me was pulled to the side because her suitcase showed cracking between the outer shell and the plastic underlining. So as the grungy-gloved TSA agent is rifling through her delicates touching EVERYTHING, moving camisoles, delicates, etc, she was just mortified, not to mention embarrassed, especially when delicates fell to the side. I could tell she was visibly disgusted.
When we got to the bench area, I mentioned to her if she wanted to know how to avoid the rifling through next time. I unlocked my suitcase and lifted my four packing cubes out by the handle. I told her they would have never touched her items because she could have lifted it all out and let them have at it. She had never heard/seen them before. It took me less than five minutes to pop them back in, lock, and leave. I think I added a believer to the 'CubeMovement' â˜ș
    ~Best to all

I usually fly intercontinental flights, and because it is usually difficult for me to readily find my size (shoes or clothing) in some parts of the world. I always pack spare undies, an easy top in my carry-on bag in case of lost baggage, missed flights, or delays. Even if I don't have my cycle, I pack at least 2 pads/liners. My whole eye gear: contacts, spare contacts, glasses, extra reading glasses, sunglasses with and without prescription 😂😂 and a very small bottle of white flower oil. White Flower oil is most sold in Hong Kong but may be found in any Chinese purveyor. It is made with many flowers and menthol and can help with issues from headaches, colds, bug bites, and sore muscles. The bottles are light, tiny, and will travel super well. 😊

This is a brillant list that is helpful for those persons who are not frequent travelers. One thing I use to do is travel with a big shawl but not cashmere, instead I bring two good quality synthetics and store one in a rectangular zippered bag. This becomes my travel pillow, demi-blanket, extra layer while traveling. I have two different colors for wardrobe versatility, black as a neutral and rose or wine for a pop of color (that one stays in the bag) and because they're synthetic, I can hand or machine wash them so I don't have to concern myself with the dirty environment these are protecting me from.

If you wear prescription glasses, take an extra pair in case one breaks. This happened to me in Costa Rica. Since I had a second pair with me, it was no big deal, but had I not taken an extra pair, it would have been a disaster.

Depends on where I am traveling...if I am wearing sandals I bring old socks to throw away for TSA check in. I try to wear sneakers if I have to take my shoes off. The socks are dead to me once they touch that airport floor though LOL TSA precheck is nice when available
