For the past several years Jennie Allen has been raising money for various charities by trekking around the world. She's walked across England, trekked in Africa and New Zealand and started to run marathons. But in mid 2013 she started falling ill. In July she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. By the time she was admitted for treatment, fluid build-up in her abdomen was so great that she appeared to be in an advanced state of pregnancy. Friends and family feared the worse, and Jennie saw it in their eyes. But Jennie never doubted she would live. 10 months later and shortly after being given a clean bill of heatlh -total remission, she tells her story...

How is she doing now? Came across this, after researching my symptoms. Every symptom points to Ovarian cancer. My mom just passed from breast cancer, and I began having symptoms while she was in the hospital. 5 months of this, change in bowels, irregular cycles, pain in lower abs and lower back, swollen lower legs, my belly size increasing and doesn't match my figure. But the past 2 days now, I'm just beginning to get sick while eating. I've always been able to eat a lot. Went to my MD last month, normal pap and normal "over the stomach" ultrasound, and then suggested I see a GI. Really?? Last week I had such severe cramps, yet refused a cat scan. They DID schedule me with a top OB, I'll be seeing him in 10 days. His nurse said he would order scans, thank God. If I DO have ovarian cancer, I'll use this woman's strength as a source for my own. My mom was not much of a fighter. I will definitely be fighting. I loved this woman's determination. Thank you.

September 2021 I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer after having been to a G.I. Doctor who assumed that all my symptoms were due to opioid constipation. Doctors don’t listen. I told him I was having nausea, vomiting, and trouble being able to eat even the smallest amounts of food and would swell up on the right side of my stomach. I also told him about pain in my bladder area that was not burning pain but was painful to even turn over. It wasn’t until I landed up in a woman’s clinic and they did a sonogram inside as well as out that they found the tumor. Actually the Doctor Who sent me for the sonogram felt the tumor but had to make sure. Then I was off and running. Three bouts of chemo, surgery with massive debulking and then three more chemo. In between I would have to get blood transfusions as well as shots for white blood cells. Push your doctors don’t allow them to tell you it’s nothing it may not be ovarian cancer but that doesn’t mean there isn’t something wrong, you know your body best.

Thank you for a very inspiring story. I did not know that having ovarian cysts and endometriosis, increases the chances for cancer... Anyway, it is worrying that as a patient you have to be very persistent and strong to get a diagnosis, when you know something is wrong. I don't even want to think about what could have happened to you, if you weren't. I wish you all the best. ❤️

I'm being diagnosed of ovarian cancer and yet been schedule for operation. I'm angry! Angry because I don't have money or insurance. If you don't have money or insurance in my country then prepare to die because they will make you wait until those paying patient finish their surgery before they got time to cut you, which by the time they get to me my cancer would have metastasized! Just want to vent not looking for sympathies!

SexySheerah how sad, but maybe Jesus is telling you to do something? My Mom died of ovarian. She had chemo surgery, went to the brain. She didn't do any natural remedies. Her Mother died and that really depressed my Mom. 1 thing I'm grateful for is that my beloved Mom knew Jesus and after she died that is when I gave my heart to Jesus. May Jesus bless and heal you♡♡♡♡♡

I have a lot of the symptoms for Ovarian Cancer, although they came on quite suddenly. I get bloated and gassy immediately after eating, I need the toilet to pee a lot and I've been tired on and off. Also I have the side pain too. I took some medication that seems to have helped with the gas and is supposedly helping my diarrhea too but I'm still so worried.

I am the lady in the video. I had a recurrence a year after the first diagnosis. I had several rounds of further chemotherapy with different drugs. It had little impact on the cancer. After a number of months, I had further surgery to remove the tumour and two months after that I had 25 sessions of radiotherapy. That was in 2015 and I have been disease free for 4 years now with stable ca125 levels.

Jennie is still alive and cancer-free. She got 1) good treatment, 2) studied the hell out of the subject and pretty much went vegetarian/vegan but still enjoys a good bottle of wine. She's a statistical anomoly (because ovarian cancer ' is incurable and a killer'.) So do what she did and study the hell out of alternative holistic treatment/diet and do your best to mitigate or eliminate the supposed 'inevitable'. You can survive!
