I’m taking my first solo trip from Virginia to Seattle soooo excited. Was gonna do an airbnb but figured I’d rather not have to be in a foreign city and a random house and paid for a hotel. “The max” I’m gonna do a few tours, ask others for photos and do mt rainer. Only staying for 3 nights but SUPER excited. Nice to see other black girls out there solo traveling
Girl I did my FIRST EVER SOLO TRIP TO SEATTLE TOO!!! I went in September 2022!!! I swear it really is another experience to be by yourself traveling!!! I did the light rail too and bussed it everywhere AND walked!!! Yesss lol the homelessness was crazy. I mean I am from Los Angeles but it was next level for me!!🤣🤣🤣 Girl SAMEEEE thing in Pioneer Square. I legit thought wait now I don't wanna be here!! It made me happy I spent extra to stay at a nice hotel and feel safe. But it was bad, I thought it was only me on the homeless situation. Also YESSSSS SEATTLE FREEZE WAS REALL!!! People are so not Californian lol! I recommend staying at Staypineapple The Maxwell Hotel, AMAZING!! Ugh sending me back to those memories!! And ummm yesssss BEST SLEEP you ever get being alone and away!!! I drooled and never do!! Ugh I could go on!!!🧡🧡🧡
And yeah had to ask around for pics! Amazing memories made overall!!

Great vlog!! I'm doing my research as I'm doing a Solo trip for my 28th birthday this March. I have 2 hotels in mind one is in Pioneer Square right outside the station or South Lake Union, as a young black woman traveling alone which area would you suggest? Thanks for sharing your experience!!
Definitely south lake Union! Pioneer square can get kinda iffy depending where you’re at but both times I’ve done solo travel to Seattle I’ve stayed in SLU!

What kind of camera do you use?
What is it like for a Black Hairstylist, I'm seriously thinking about moving there.
There’s not many of y’all so you’d probably get a lot of business!! Especially in Seattle, most black stylists are like 30-45+ mins away from the city. There’s always people asking in group chats for Black hairstylists!! What type of styles do you do?
Is it really that dangerous in Seattle? I’m going and it’s the first time I’ve traveled in general (and I’m going alone) I’m honestly getting scared lol
Seattle is gorgeous, however I would say to be wise and vigilant. I would avoid/be aware on 3rd Avenue in downtown/Belltown area and in parks within the city. If you are able to purchase or Amazon some pepper spray to your hotel/Airbnb so it’s there when you get there (you can’t bring it on planes) I’d do that too! I’m a woman and I never felt at danger, howeverrrr you just have to be alert at all times.
I’d also be aware in Chinatown area. Not sure what pioneer square is looking like these days but I know in the past it’s been a problem area. Enjoy yourself, but always be looking around when you’re walking! Have fun!
It’s summer so the city has cleaned things up for the most part for tourism so I don’t think there’s a ton of reason to worry!
