Seeing this for the first time 2019... Sage Francis is a beast on the mic! I have seen probably 60 hip hop shows, including KRS-One, Cannibus, Das Efx, Channel Live, Jay Z, Nas, OutKast, Pharcyde, Atmosphere, Wu-Tang, Kanye, Lupe Fiasco, Brother Ali, Swollen Members, Styles of Beyond, & so many more, but this dude right here, BEST SHOW YOU CAN EVER PAY MONEY TO GO SEE! I am not gonna lie, KRS was a close second, but Sage is a performer & knows exactly how to keep you jumpin! Hope you rap until you’re 80yrs old my dude... #REALHIPHOP!

Copper Gone is one of my all time favourite hip hop albums. And it has extremely strong competition even just within Sage's discography.

Awesome interview. I never knew he felt that way about recording shows but it's a super valid point. I like his "fuck it" insightful honesty. I like that he expresses his opinions on shit like this and on why shit like Spotify is bad for artists.

Sage sees the problems within hip-hop/pop music. He knows that these problems aren't to blame for his underground status. He embraces his underground status. He wants anyone listening to know that there are strong artists who aren't being heard.
You're preaching to the motherfucking choir, Sage. Xaul Zan should run for office.

I loved copper gone. I respect your fortitude to stick to your unique and original style but I think a track of you and Eminem would be epic bro. He solidified himself as a lyricist and against the mumble rap bs that is going around, and he’s super popular, if you two could collaborate and make a record it would really put a steak in the heart of this bs hip hop

      Atonio,
The final product says it all. This is his best looking, best sounding, and best edited interview footage on CZcams. Also, outside of the Nardwuar interview, it's the highest viewed. We don't decide to work with people based on the size of their following. If people approach us in a professional way, and their intent seems genuine, we do our best to work with them. So if that means you've been inspired to take action, so be it. Wishing you the best, man.

Antonio Daniele I read an article one time about how he doesn't like doing interviews unless the person doing the interview is a good music journalist. He probably saw another interview by this guy and thought it was well done. It was the same with his interview with nardwar. He's picky about who he gives interviews with so something about this guy resignated with him
