This is cool. I'm doing research on making my own for damascus knives. After forging sometimes its a pain to get them nice and flat without spending hours on a belt sander. Ill make a video on my channel when I make mine to give others ideas just like here. Thanks for the info

Pretty sure that little wavy-ness on your 150 grit grind came from the wobbling... stiffen it up and your dial indicator should sit even closer to zero. Looks like normal "tool chatter". I think you've overdone the bed, and under-done the belt sander and attachment stiffness. But no arguing with the results. Nice work, good ideas.
