I want to wake up tomorrow, on a monday morning, and see the news pop up, saying - Sony has removed the requirements for PSN on PC.
I am on a ungodly ammount of copium right now. I take a sniff every 10 minutes.
I have already finished my third tank :(
It won't likely matter, the damage is done. The Devs and team at Arrow Head fucked up so hard with their insufferable employees shitting on players.
@@stefa168 Feel ya.
It’s gonna happen. Just give it time.
I'm with you on this hope. Pass me a hit of that copium.
I play with 3 ex pat friends in Vietnam most of the time. They're not going to be able play. That's my beef.
and i do not blame you, its a joke honestly
You mean immigrant friends. White people use ex pat to sound less dirty than immigrant.
I've never before played a game where in game a stranger will want to give you a hug for saving their arse with a will timed airstrike. The community is incredible.
Sony published a game that trained hundreds of thousands of player to focus relentlessly on a single target and work together, and then made themselves the target of that community. What is happened was utterly foreseeable and predictable. Hopefully, they will reverse the PSN requirement, introduce the illuminate and things go back to having the game be about fun.
im hoping so to mate
I swear on god i just feel the same mate, this game was taking me out of depression. I was so sad when this shit started to happen 😢
Last night I had a lvl 8 drop in on a hard mission. No biggie but I was doing duos with another low level friend. At one point out of the corner of my eye I seen his health bar drop randomly. I communicate to my mate to hold position on the fight we were currently in, spun around and quickly run for the newbie, to see a hulk on his ass. Hit it twice with the spear, gave newbie a stim and then a hug. I heard him say over his mic, "Man this game is fkn sick, thank you for saving me and goddamn it thanks for the fucking hug". 😂😂❤
You think this community would fight for this to be removed if it was known before the game came out. Might have been for the better who knows.
It was impossible to be fully informed at that time, since SO MUCH was happening every hour. So big respect for you for being honest about everything.
just doing my best whilst trying to give a honest input, dont wana be labelled as anything im not mate, thanks for this message
@@CloudPlays You doing amazing work.
Indeed! It's an info war, but I do believe we're doing great :D
I love this game so much, and that's what makes this hurt so much. So many people had come together for a common goal: Spread democracy! The community for this game has been fantastic, but this deal with Sony has torn everything to bits. In solidarity with the players who no longer have access to the game, I will not be logging on for the foreseeable future.
We dive together, or we don't dive at all
i love this and its so true, was my favourite thing about the game tbh
We dive together, or we don't dive at all
My feelings as well sir. We dive together, we die together.
Helldivers together strong!
We dive together, or we don’t dive at all
Stand up for democracy
*capitalism
Managed Democracy means you don't make your decisions. This is all to plan. 😅
Isn't more about the governments of the country, NOT letting players access to psn? How is it Capitalism fault?
PlayStation just tweeted that they decided to NOT do the link! We're SAVED!
No shit????
Youre not kidding
If Arrowhead has known about PSN linking, why did they sell the game to countres where PSN acount is impossible to make?
The claim is Sony handled the sales through Steam. It was Sony, not AH, that was responsible for implementing a region lock and they did not. That's what I've read, anyway.
steam listed it. not sony or arrowhead
The developers do not decide where a game gets sold. That is on the publisher. In this case, it was on Sony.
If this was out of the hands of Arrowhead, then Sony are fully to blame for the scam. Sounds though that Arrowhead could have at least kept the customer base more informed. However, I expect Sony would not allow them to inform regions where PSN has no presence about the eventual inability to play the game.
Arrowhead doesn't sell the game. Its really that simple.
Here for these late night updates
Have you ever worked on a really big project, desperately scrambling to get everything done only to arrive at the due date and realise you completely forgot a very important part? Thats my take on AH here, the game blew up way bigger than they thought it would and so they mad scrambled to get everything together. In the process they either forgot about the PSN thing, didn't think to look into which regions could even get a PSN, or they assumed/hoped that the PSN thing would change and just, go away.
No it's not ok for an entire dev team to forget such an important detail, but i think it's at least understandable.
agree with this take 2000%
Yeah, people are very absolute in their expectations. I still believe arrowhead is a dev team of mostly people who understand gamers and want what's best. Let's hope people can forgive so we can rebuild the community
i havent seen anyone take sides with sony
there are a weird few, i just dont know why
Quite a few on the steam forums sadly.
Very few of them seem to own Helldivers 2 for some reason...
both arrowhead and sony are at fault with this
@@CloudPlays I am not defending Sony, especially selling it in regions where PSN is not available, but this seems a little childish to make a stink about having to link an account and review bombing the game. Microsoft does it, Rockstar does it. Ubisoft does it, but Sony does it so let’s destroy the game that we have all been enjoying? Just seems like an overreaction.
@@CloudPlays usually just content farmers from what I can see. Contrarian to stir up feelings.
Being able to admit when u messed up is one of the big reasons i keep using u as my main hell divers news ur quick to explain when u made a mistake
just trying to do my best mate, i appreciate this message
CEO doesnt have final say?
WE HAVE THE FINAL SAY
No Sony has the final say now the game will flop 😞 and disappear because people didn't read
Damn fragging straight man!
No, you dont. All you can do is ask for a refund.
@@themainman2827Option 2 is Storm Sony Headquarters.
We could only have the final say, if all of the players of Sonny’s games, stick together and push back. Let the big corporations know, they can’t forced their will on people. Else this is going to happen again and again
This reminds me of the Wizards of the Coast OGL drama that happened about a year ago if anyone remembers that. We won against the greed of corporations once, we can do it again.
I was thinking the same thing!
YES! THAT'S THE EXACT MINDSET WE NEED!
Honestly, this whole situation makes me sad. The developers don't have a say in this, and the players are ignored.
The funny part about this is that if they didn't make it mandatory and INCENTIVIZED account linking, with an example of a new armor plus cape, they would most likely gotten the PSN sign ups they wanted but being greedy and wanting to look good to the shareholders they shot the possible cash cow game would of netted them lmfaooo.
We need a new cape for remembering all the countries being cut off from HD2. Their sacrifice will be remembered.
@xcloud_plays-fv1my for SUPER EARTH! 🫡
Also, how do I get in contact this my first time winning.
I genuinely want to cry over this. Just a few days ago we were excited over a new warbond and now all of this has occurred.
HOLY SHIT IT HAPPENED THEY FIXED IT
Sony killed their golden goose
The arrowhead ceo is absolutely not innocent. He knew about the psn linking requirement 6 months before launch. He was the one who disabled the linking requirement! He let players in locked regions purchase his game knowing they couldn't create psn accounts! No one is the good guy here!
He didn’t let anything my good youtber. It Sony that allowed that as the publisher on Steam. They should had region lock the sales but didn't. Arrowhead in this case didn't have any involvement in this as of what we know
Look everyone is not perfect as long he holds himself accountable as long as he fixes the situation we can have fun again it's mostly sony's fault
You really dont know how this works, dont you?
Anyway, Sony makes some changes in their TOS (terms of service) from "linking account to PSN is optional" to "may require" shortly before announcing that linking to PSN account is mandatory. So yeah. You dont know how some thing works.
He tweeted that.
Sony did the publishing, not ArrowHead so the blame is on them.
Mistakes were made yes, yet the CEO of AH is admitting them, all the while Sony is being quiet and most likely will put the blame on AH
This past few days, everytime I wake up, the first thing I do is check my phone for HD2 news hoping I will see something positive about this issue. I hope to see it soon!
Their biggest mistake by far was the grace period. PlayStation Network account was clearly stated both on the store page and the in-game initial startup splash screen. But I don't remember hearing anything about a grace period.
Because the grace period was never told to us from the beginning
It seems like the AH CEO might not have told Sony about what he did.
Fun info, last I checked a couple hours ago if you go to the direct Playstation store and look up Helldivers 2 FOR PC, it STILL has the FAQ saying you do not have to make a PSN account to play.
1 thing that should be thought about is major companies like sony would probably employ an NDA non disclosure agreement on certain things before something comes out so i feel thats why they were not able to talk about it but thats just an idea of why the devs didnt talk much about it
I appreciate that you're willing to admit when you het things wrong, while keeping your opinions open, Cloud! I'm glad I subscribed!
thank you mate im just trying to do my best
Imagine catching lightning in a bottle in a time where the competition couldn’t serve a slice of beard without it being shit and somehow managing to smash the bottle
really if it was required there should have been a reminder to create an account everytime you launched the game.
Agreed, the free cosmetic would have been waaaay less backlash
if they give an item for account linking i expect Tk'ing like with the creek cape
I never saw these supposed tks i th8nk its a very minor issue c9mpared too a large part of the community being forced to not play the game, i could play helldivers rn and keep playing with my psn account, but these corporate companies cant help themselves, if my albanian friend cant play then why tf should i play without him, theyd have saved a lot more drama with a simple cosmetic item
I agree. If they had just made it not mandatory but incentivised in the first place, it would have gone fine for everyone. If they try to do it now, however, nobody is going to want to do it; and those who do will probably sadly be bullied and tk'd pretty hard. I think it might be too late for this option, unless the incentive is really good.
What sucks as well is that due to this whole situation its also effecting AH previous title HD which had nothing to do with HD2.
From what I heard in a previous video, I understand the need for the PSN. Arrowhead is small and can't deal with bans and policing any griefing players. That being said, when it was announced on Friday, Sony and Arrowhead should have had some kind of idea to present regarding those who can't setup accounts in certain countries at all, or are restricted to making accounts on PS4/5's in other countries. It has been 9ish months by this point, there should be some kind of idea being worked on. Either Sony stating that they are working to expand PSN to these other countries; or that the accounts in those countries will be logged, possibly through working with Valve, and be excluded from requiring PSN. That being said, if the second option is the one they are going with it raises questions of why the other 69 countries with PSN have to register.
Both Sony and Arrowhead, Sony more so, could have done a better job explaining things up front. Maybe make the announcement on a Monday and be prepared to give statements on both sides through the week. Instead what happened was a hornet's nest was kicked on a Friday with one of the parties thinking things would be fine until Monday and the other trying to explain things as the hornets came out buzzing. What could have been an 'inconvenience' as the announcement put it, has turned into something huge.
The closest thing I could compare this to is when Chase Banking acquired Washington Mutual. The WM customers were sent letters and told their savings accounts would remain free with Chase. A few months down the line suddenly said customers are being charged for having the savings account. Anyone who didn't still have the letter to present were out of luck when they called support to find out what was going on. Their response to Chase was to withdraw their money, close the account, and take their business elsewhere. On that issue, Chase should have had all the WM customers filed in a way that such a thing didn't happen.
All I want is to enjoy fighting for democracy with those who have been on the front lines for so many hours. no matter where they live. Is that so wrong?
I appreciate that you did more research 👍
Hey cloud, do you think that this "super colony" will give us the new hive lord bug buss
Due to an issue with a mandatory Super Destroyer Software Update, Super Destroyer FTL Navigation systems were knocked offline throughout the galaxy 3 days ago. Thanks to the dedicated effort of the Helldivers to place emergency beacons across the galaxy, Super Earth High Command was made aware of the issue and a manually deployed Software Rollback is now en route to all Super Destroyers.
Well, at least the super earth CEO knows what's up.
I don't care about sony, I do care about AH, I do care about HD2. AH is a game developer, as such need a publisher company to get their game out. Pretty much all publishers these days are assholes, AH was in a no win position from the start. I wont Quit HD2, I have over 1000 hours of play time on it. The game may not be perfect, AH may not be perfect. Like everybody else, they are only human, humans make mistakes its a natural part of life. Personally, this game was a last beacon of hope for me, since most games have been ruined intentionally by corrupt consultant company's trying to push things nobody wants. HD2 is not one of these games. I'm not willing to risk one of the rare treasures, that is HD2, just to stick it to Sony. At most I might buy five games a year, because that's roughly how many games worth spending money on get released. And that number has been steadily dropping year after year. So, the rest of you can do what you want. I'm going to keep playing HD2 with my boyfriend.
I agree with what you said, but god damn, 1000 hours??? That’s like 11 hours per day on average 💀
@@vexonusoftelvari638 Stay at home girlfriend. Neither of us are very messy, So I have plenty of free time to do what I want while he works. When he gets home I spoil him with good food and affection, and we game together. Win/Win for us both. :3
A rational person in this day and age wow
👍
I think for this they didn't need a publisher. The sacrifice they made wasn't worth the support they provided.
I'm trying to take a look at this from outside Arrowhead and Sony. Say you're a company that sells a service/product, and make a promise as an enticement to purchase said service/product. If you then take away the product or lie about the service, or renege on your promise, you would be liable to be sued in a court of law. The fact that this is happening with digital products is just proof that the law isn't being applied. Its hard when it comes to international law as well.
I think Sony did this now to divide the attention from stellar blade issue too much at the same time seems planned and on purpose. Remember this and Stellar blade fight on both sides
Why does my game look nothing like this ? I feel like there’s some kind of setting for me to achieve this kind of gameplay. Can anyone help?
I do believe that we don’t have a major order as of yet because of the dire situation the community is in. They don’t want to push out potential game changing events when half the players have the game uninstalled due to recent issues. They sort of want the word to spread of the PSN link requirement being removed until they add, let’s say, hive lords or illuminate. For that same reason I think the warbond will be delayed too, though we never know
I can't really be too pissed at the developer. He owns his mistake. He fucked up and he knows that. And now he's trying to fix it.
I VA'd for Project Wingman and I don't know if PC players will ever get Frontline 59 because Sony has to get its dick sucked. Fortunately, Arby (the dev) does _seem_ to still be working on stuff. He's just one guy but I'm pretty confident he'll do more for the game in due time. I say that not being privy to any insider info, since F59 is out now, but we'll see.
I hope Arby is never foolish enough to say, add an online mode to Project Wingman, and then suddenly we all need a PSN account.
This morning you rolled a nat 1
Based response, charisma check passed nat 20 on this one
no clue what this means lol im old mate lol
@@CloudPlays it's a DND joke lol tldr good video, and the honesty and straightforward-ness is such a lovely change of pace on this platform
@CloudPlays don't let anyone make you feel bad for being passionate about the game and trying to stay positive to avoid all this BS drama farming that's happening right now. I've seen so many CZcamsrs do a full 180, Call everyone associated with this game "woke" and that the developers "hate gamers". The fake outrage is ridiculous.
The only real issue is if people in certain areas don't have access to PSN and how Sony will handle that. Everything else is a minor inconvenience at most.
EVEN MORE BASED TAKE literally what this dude said @@baneintherain
I appreciate Arrowhead acknowledging they're not blameless in this. I feel they should have had the 'Link your PSN Account' prompt appear upon EVERY log in, not just the first log in that was skippable and allowing the prompt to never appear again if skipped. That I think is more on AH's side than Sony's and showcasing the prompt upon every log in where PSN was not linked would have done a lot to communicate the necessity of a PSN account and avoided a good part of this drama. That and the game DEFINETLY should never have been listed where PSN was unavailable in the first place if this was the Req. Not sure if that last one was more AH or Sony, but the point stands.
Now, do I think I should be required to get a PSN account if I don't own a Playstation and am a PC gamer almost exclusively? No, I do not. So that part is definitely Sony's decision which I 100% do not agree with. Nor do I agree with Sony's decision to suddenly implement this after allowing us all 3 months of access to the game w/o needing it. Especially when they had to go back into their FAQ on their PSN website and specifically change wording that previously indicated PSN was optional for PC games.
I've enjoyed this community and the vibes around it, even more than the actual game itself (which was great). I've loved hearing about events like Malevelon Creek and seeing all of the love and passion projects this game inspired (Johnathan Young songs, various memes on Democracy and Liber-tea, etc). I love how it was an epic war run by the Devs with a narrative in place, like the biggest D&D (or your other preferred RPG system here if you're still a little salty over what happened last year like I am) campaign in the world.
Unfortunately, I've uninstalled the game until such a time as we get more concrete answers. I won't be seeking a refund as I had enough fun with the game while I could play, and it allowed me to reconnect with friends I hadn't spoken to in years. $40 is a small price to pay for that, so thank you AH (and Sony I reluctantly suppose) for helping me rebuild that connection. However, I did leave a negative Steam review and will be discouraging any of my other friends from buying Helldivers for the foreseeable future. I'll also be looking into EDF6 coming out in July, and I recommend listing that in your Steam reviews just so Sony knows there's competition around the corner. :)
Man Tacos, up bumps!
we did it guys :)
While corporate greed could definitely be the major factor in requiring PSN linking, if you read the letter from Sony Interactive, they specifically stated that they wanted to do this to 'protect' players. For Sony, this is about controlling the IP (being able to dictate to the game studio what has to go into the game) and about controlling the player base (being able to dictate who gets banned or allowed on the platform). Notice the language is very similar to setting up "safe" spaces.
The arrowhead team was surely aware of this, however I don't think they truly understood the severity of it. I believe it was also something which was forgotten about due to the I credible success of the game and all the week 1/2 stress
cosmetics dont help the people who bought it and now cant play based on where they live. sony as a publisher should have worked more with steam, to either blacklist those countries from the start. or continue to allow them to play, since they've been playing for months already. the AH CEO knew, but i dont think it feels malicious. more so, hey, we just need our game to work at launch. (minus the normal bugs and hotfixes needed) and the psn account linking seems to have been the issue. idk how adding that feature works dev wise. but if the game failed to have a successful launch, we wouldnt even be here talking about this. the server issues aside, they didnt have any idea it would become a phenomena in the gaming community. the biggest question i have is, where is sony`s PR statements and their community managers? i know why some countries get blacklisted, for political and government reasons. but AH made a game bringing people together, that says something. now a portion of the community is punished for their government`s ideology. and sony failed to work with steam on the sale of the game, as the publisher. and has not made any guarantees about data security, after multiple security breaches. the act of making the account is trivial, if there wasn`t a risk to your data being stolen. AH CEO is at least trying to remedy the situation, admits his own faults. more than most of todays development CEO`s do. twinbeard seems to be levelheaded and understands the frustrations. but some of the other CM`s, just aren`t for the community. it`s their job to interact and give updates, news about the games community they`re managing. so for some of them to hide away, at something like this that affects millions of players. is cowardice and is considered treason, according to the ministry of defense.
If they made it a requirement for cross play ONLY and gave a gift for linking that would solve the issue
Cloud, thank you for walking into your own cluster bomb at the start of the video. Gave me a good laugh
3:19 to fair they did not see the game sky rocket to the popularity that it has now and it is a double A game and was never intended to be this popular, perhaps they agreed upon the psn acc because of the small expectations for the game. people need to take off this mindset of they should of seen this coming if they are a small game development team, it's like if a movie made in Japan that was targeted to Japanese audience got super popular all around the globe and started getting hate for it not having a over seas release.
selling a PSN only game in non-PSN countries was a wild move
I think you misspelled theft via fraud imo
They literally sell PlayStations in countries without PSN...
@@PLandericus and those can't play multiplayer games without risking a ban just for trying, but can play single player games at least. Still scummy, and idiotic to buy a PlayStation on a country without PSN, but the difference is I'm pretty sure they have a long refund window for a detail they can notice right away from day 1.
"we are talking solutions, especially for non-psn countries"
what i think he meant to say is "only for non-psn countries"
Imagine telling half of Super Earth that they aren't allowed to be HellDivers. Doesn't affect me, but seems pretty wrong.
idk about others, but i took spitz advice and got a refund from steam and left the discord just as they wanted.... plenty of other games to play on pc
We won! They just announced that they're removing the link requirement!
Really shows character to say what you said in the beginning of this video, and I respect that a lot. Hope this concludes diplomatically in .ore ways than one.
From day 1 they should have put a pop up message on Steam and on the title screen saying IN THE FUTURE YOU WILL NEED A PSN ACCOUNT TO PLAY THIS GAME, DON'T FORGET.
@cloudplay thank for the video
So yeah Arrowhead were 100% complicit with this and starting playing the "woah this wasn't us guys" bullshit card when the fan hammer came down. They made the deal and are as much responsible for this as Sony. Plus Arrowhead are the face of this franchise so any and all issues will always be sent to them first. At this point the only real option they have is to get rid of the PSN requirement and honestly throwing a 1000 super credits to all your players as an apology for being douchebags couldn't hurt.
Highly respectable intro. Bravo.
Need to build Hideo level reputation before sony makes any concession.
This message have just popped up on Playstations Twitter!
"Helldivers fans -- we’ve heard your feedback on the Helldivers 2 account linking update. The May 6 update, which would have required Steam and PlayStation Network account linking for new players and for current players beginning May 30, will not be moving forward.
We’re still learning what is best for PC players and your feedback has been invaluable. Thanks again for your continued support of Helldivers 2 and we’ll keep you updated on future plans."
Stuff's illegal in Australia.
But no one gives a shit about what's illegal in Aus.
American puppet state since 1975
Lmao according to friendlyjordies your entire government is corrupt. I live in America where our people willfully sleep while our senile politicians ignore the problems of the people. It's bad, but nobody seems to care.
Seems that some players in the Philippines are starting to lose access. I can still get in the game, but I'm sure that'll change soon. Guess it's time to put down the cape, and put in that refund request. Been nice diving with you guys.
In my opinion, arrowhead didn’t really know that Sony was going to backtrack to the PSN accounts being mandatory
That earlier tweet about how they're an indy studio, they make their own choices aged very poorly - although they weren't entirely wrong, considering they chose to lose control of this situation months / years ago. Really the sad part is, if there had never been a grace period and it was just like this from day one, then they could have avoided all of this.
Psn link should be just like The Finals did it, they asked to make embark account so You could make custom name tag, also they boosted people signin in and linking accounts on steam, discord by giving some minor customization stuff with cool events attached like streaming 10minutes on discord
as someone who just started playing HD2 weeks ago i hope arrowhead grows a spine, because if people are suggesting refunds my reply is; "refund? hell i just got here!" but yeah, i'm hoping HD2 can be saved
Friend brought up this point. My steam account is worth.....more than it should be. So the question is what is the risk to linking the account?
Is playing HD2 worth risking my steam library?
I use two factor for extra security but yea nothings for certain.
Question: What does signing up with Sony actually do?
nothing really positive for you. They say, they can ban people but cheaters will always cheat and always be a problem (look at other sony games with PSN). Also you just put yourself more at risk when they get hacked really. Cause they will get hacked again, seeing there track record. Also with the heated situation IRL with USA, China and Russia. I don't want my information over there since if poop hits the fan. Well, ya know, the less your information is out there, the better.
Completely oblivious about Cloud's disclaimer on his opinion, as I've zoned out of toxicity that blew up in the community due to the current issue and just to celebrate star wars day. I've seen the "just make a psn account with another country, bro" folks jumped the gun by attacking the directly-affected users voicing out their concerns, without the full context, then later retracted their statements and partook in the review-bombing to help the cause. I've done my part, which was extremely painful as I'm directly affected in this what with living in the Philippines and all. This was the first game that I genuinely enjoyed with my friends and got active in the community, only to be threatened with losing access eventually. Where things are currently according to Spitz, I doubt that Sony or AH will release an official statement until the end of month to force all the PSN-supported users to link their accounts.
Simplest compromise for sony, release an apology and give exceptions for players in other countries. It wont make everyone happy but it prevents ripping off people who cant use a psn account. Best solution now of course would be giving some super credits or a warbond or something if you link but leaving it optional. Best practice would have been to have any of these policies foreshadowed or in place at launch so all knew what to expect but hindsight is 2020 like that.
Cloud sounds like an automaton
Should have added a console like the strategem hero game in your ship that plays some silly mini game, and it's a PS5 if you link.
Give some kind of unique armor/cape/helm to players who voluntarily link their account to PSN. Key word being "voluntary."
Arrowhead knew ahead of time and told us nothing they are hypocrites so get your refund while you can guys make a stand.
It say it when you buy the damn game, and they told every one a good few time, but most of you are to dumb to read lol.
no worries g
"How many of us actually read the ToC" Yup, that's all I needed to hear lol
Holy shit!? Timestamps on the video.....sir I am VERY proud of you hearing the feedback and improving your videos. Side note - by not having enough info and having to apologize.....maybe don't crank out 2 vids a day with tiny bites of info. 15 min vid with ALL info/updates and reddit posts would be sooooo much better to watch
@ 4:35 bro you hit the nail on the head!. i was about to post a comment regarding that topic... if the Arrowhead CEO is PUBLICALLY taking responsibility (just think about what that alone means, that hurts their wallet more than anything) then it should be nothing for us, the players, that breeze past every single terms of service agreement and spam accept, just to go "oh shit i gotta check that box" and continue spamming accept, to take some personal responsibility. its the age of information, its literally at our finger tips. we're (and yes im just as guilty not tryna preach from atop a soapbox or anything lol) just lazy. theres absolutely zero reason for the community to start acting like spoiled, entitled brats about the bad situation. its shameful and just making matters worse. spamming negative reviews because you didnt get what you wanted right this second is trash. we all know the games awesome. we know theyre doin what they can to rectify the problem as fast as possible. stop acting stupid. end rant ;)
For Super Earth!!! 🌎
So from these statements, Arrowhead CEO was betting and was confident that using the number of sales as a bargaining chip in hope to influence Sony to drop the prior agreement of PSN requirements. It failed catastrophically.
Unfortunately for the ceo, Sony just doesn’t give a rats ass about their own rep or player numbers.
Only the shareholders and the money that comes from them
this drama really sucked all of the fun out of the room
❤
Not your fault, man. The lack of transparency and random, snide tweets from 'folk in the know,' isn't helping anything.
Arrowhead have sat on this, all the backlash against Sony (whilst completely deserved) is equal parts on them as well.
Keep up the good work 🥃
just trying to do my best. ill make mistakes from time to time, so thank you for this message. appreciate the support
im just gonna ask forthright, after we win this, which I hope we will, whos returning to Helldivers?
I just love this game and with how rough is has been with good multiplayer games, HD2 is a breath of fresh air and I’ve made friends on this game. It’s a GOATed game and still can be, if I have to leave bad reviews and request refunds to Helldive with ALL of my brothers and sisters in Democracy again. I’ll do it
if they added the optional ability to link psn then give you a psn cape and gun or some bs it would be fine, an incentive for people to do it and you're not booting millions who already bought the game.
It seems like yes the devs new it, but it was either get the game out now, or endure rediculous delays while they fought with sony about it and potentially risk sony bailing out, while now they have a leg to stand on and community support as well as a track record of success, rather than disappointing all the fans if it was shutdown altogether never to be played outside of a beta. It was probably the right move on arrowheads part, but still a shitty position to be placed in.
Hey man, big RESPECT for takin that L on the chin. That's a rare thing for a content creator to do. Hell, that's a rare thing for ANYONE to do. Right on man. I appreciate you.
Edit: I'm just SUPER worried that Helldivers and Arrowhead won't be able to bounce back from this. The game is literally hemorrhaging players right now. Even if the psn linking is walked back, they already shit the bed. The water is so muddied, how many of those players will come back? This burned soooo much goodwill. I am so fuckin sad rn.
im just trying to do my best mate. will always hold my hands up, im only human and ill make mistakes from time to time. thank you for this message, goes a long way
We’ve known about all this hours ago
The whole world might hate this game right now but idc I just want to spread some managed democracy.
oh i agree, i love the game, sony just dont deserve to be linked to it in any way
@@CloudPlays Agreed
We don't hate the game . We love the game and think Arrowhead did an amazing job... It's SONY We hate
The major question still stands: Who's decision was it to sell HD2 in the countries without a PSN capability ? That's the person who needs to be fired. AH or Sony.
It never ceases to amaze how a big company can look at a successful high profit product and go “gee how can we fuck this up”
And then when they get backlash showing them it’s a fuck up they double down. Like my god how fucking incompetent are the people making these decisions? There’s NO benefit to this, the game already has an anti cheat system in place, isn’t competitive meaning even if someone cheats it’s hardly that impactful and that aside I’ve NEVER run into a cheater after hundreds of dives so what’s the fucking point here other than pissing off paying customers? Like seriously it’s like they WANT to loose money.
WE WON BOYS SONY HAS YIELD
i realy hope that the folks that left negative revives on steam now revert them, sony gave inn.
What really sucks about this whole situation is that I support Arrowhead and HD2 but I don't support Sony. All they do as a publisher is distribute the game. Otherwise, they did nothing at all for it. And because I support AH to the extent that do, I followed their instructions on how to get Sony to pay attention to our overwhelming displeasure with their stupid decision. Suddenly, I'm the bad guy in my friend group.
Apparently, I'm the one who should just shut up, leave it alone, roll over and take it. Because to them, supporting the developers is signing up for a security risk of a service you will never need or use that could get you potentially banned from the game anyway should someone hack psn and steal your account then doing something bannable or even worse not getting hacked and by accidentally taking out a friendly who is the worst kind of vindictive person who reports you for griefing and an ai automatically permabans you. But instead of doing the objectively correct and morally right thing they are continuing to be an active player instead of boycotting Sony. One friend told me, word for word, "you're the one who ruined our 4 player coop shooter, so just stfu up about it and leave it alone."
Evidently, I'm the only principled person in our entire group and standing up for principles is frowned upon now.
I lost friends over this. All because I took the side of the community, players rights and the side of the developers. Then again, maybe having corporate bootlicking NPCs as "friends" was my first mistake.
I think everyone is forgetting the part that steam has to play in this, Arrowhead for their lack of communication on the matter they should have been keep reminding people about it, Sony for greed like any other company, last but not east Steam as they knew what was up and i believe they delisted the game in all those countries before sony and AH could come to an agreement about the linking.
I think this might push Sony to make their own launcher and not sell through steam anymore, and then PSN accounts will be mandatory for every game.
I appreciate your honesty
im trying bud
It seems like the eventual endgame of this whole ordeal is Sony bringing as much PC players under their umbrella, gathering as much personal data as possible to enforce their ToS per player, not per account. Also PS+ paywalled online features.
This whole situation is actually ripe for a big class action lawsuit. From selling game and allowing play longer than 2 hr in countries, where there were no PSN, to information disparity on official sites and Sony's sneaky redactions of said information, to some outliers like Ukraine where players officially aren't allowed to create PSN account unless they own PS5, to baffling CEO and CM statements either admitting to wrongdoing or encouraging ToS breaks.
It might be just the worst managed controversy in years. And all they had to do is disable crossplay for unlinked accounts
