I am 22 years old now and I am experiencing it ever since I'm a kid. I always went home when I had a migraine at school. It's really awful! Especially if you have plans and you need to cancel it because of the pain. Aside from that, no one understands me. I never met a person in my whole life who experience it like me. I'm glad that I read the comments here. Now I don't feel alone anymore
I wanna talk to you .... xeroxtyn@gmail.com meh I'd .... I'm scared of these
Yeah,I would also
Same thing since i was kid i had it but trought high school they kind almost went away idk why or how I ever forgot about it and now bitchezz are back and I always have to lie in dark room or if I m at work or in college i go back to home and that fucking sucks
Yes me an my sister have had these migraines they are terrible
Same experience. My aura migraine started when I was in 4th grade after I went swimming. It disappeared until i graduated in college.
Causes are (according to my observations): ❗
-too hot (weather)
-exposure to light/sunlight
-dehydrated
-empty stomach (not sure)
*How to avoid it* ✅
_drink lots of water_
_cold beverages_
_eat at the right time_
_keep cool during summer days_
First time i had one of these i thought i had a stroke.
Same.
Same
They are similar
It’s very similar. I get numb arms and I can’t speak, everything is slurred.
What is a solution please halp me I'm from india
She was describing all the kinds of auras symptoms and I'm here like: yup, check, check, check, that too
Me too.
Same!! I was put on aimovyg shot for the past few months and when it’s getting time for my next shot, I get some really bad symptoms! I recommend it for severe migraine sufferers!!
This is the most accurate depiction of my migraine aura symptoms I’ve ever seen and brought me a lot of awareness around one of my scariest health problems, thank you for making this video
The same with me. I suffer from migraine since 40 years, it' s beginning suddenly with a visual aura every time - and in the early 80s nobody believed me that I had more than a simple headache. I'm happy that medicine made great progress.
I just had my first migraine with aura this afternoon. I thought I was getting a detached retina, because I had 6 torn retina surgeries in 2019. Scared the daylight out of me. I STILL have a headache 12 hrs later, but I'm just happy to know it's only a migraine. Thanks for the information.
i remember fist time i had this aura and migraine i was 12 and i couldnt feel one side of my face or take glass of water with my hand. i was so terrified lol. now im like "eh this bullshit again"
Same i remember i got it at school I cry my mom come to pick me up i tought i was going to die and now i m 23 still have it
oh my god mee too i didnt fee my right hand
lol this is literally me ive been getting them so much that i really dont care anymore. they still hurt really bad though lol
First time I got one of these I thought I had a brain tumor or I was going blind (I have health anxiety)
I thought I was the only one on the planet that this happened to. Every time it happens I feel horrified that I will go blind. Every person who has this condition I feel a connection to. Just now doing research on it and started at 16 years old and now Im 40.
I’ve had migraines and auras since about 7th grade, triggered by strong perfumes or smoked things like smoked ham. the aura will get me for about an hour then the migraine comes and sometimes it’s suffocating how strong the pain can be. the chiropractor helped me out so much. Today I got one and I tried to easily describe to my boss and kinda got a “funny” reply. But until you’ve had one you will never know.
Right after my eye starts to hurt terribly, and I throw up. I always try to go to sleep when it happenes. Cause you can’t feel it in your sleep :(
and it hurts your eyes so much so you cant really use any screens or see light
Unless it wakes u at night (like it did me last night. And I thought I had a brain aneurysm 🤣)
Actually It is impossible to sleep because of pain

For all of you who have migraine with aura demand a cardiac ultra sound with bubble study. Saline vial is agitated creating bubbles & pushed through via an IV in your arm. They follow the bubble path through the heart to determine if blood is flowing in the correct path. My aura & migraine was the result of a PFO (we’re all born with this door between heart chambers - at birth it should shut & lock) being open and shunting blood from right to left (wrong way) through the heart. Check your oxygen saturated rate with a pulse ox too. Migraines with aura eventually may be a precursor to stroke. The Cleveland Clinic specializes in this amplatzer device closure. Recovery is swift because the surgery is performed through femoral arteries in the legs. Hospital stay was 24 hours. Gave me my life back. Fortunate to not have found the defect as a result of a stroke or during an autopsy. I had migraines from the age of 13 yrs old. Hope this saves or helps some of you. FYI many specialists missed this diagnosis. It wasn’t discovered until 61 yrs old.
What’s the best medication for migraines with aura?
I had headaches when I was a kid, they went away and I had no issues until adulthood when I was hit by 240 working on an AC around 5-6 years ago and have been suffering these symptoms ever since. I saw a cardiologist and optometrist and of course a comp doctor who all dismissed the symptoms I had then and still have. Floaters appeared pretty much immediately after and tingling and numbness in hands or feet and sometimes limbs persist still at times . Usually on the same side of where the shock occurred. When visual aura’s occur it’s in the left eye. The optometrist said it was just birth cataracts that cause the Symptoms and the comp doctor blamed aging. The symptoms are becoming worse as time passes and I sometimes feel I no longer think, care or feel the same as prior. Neurologically I come back with positive results just like with cardiopulmonary tests. I’m at a loss of where to turn! Migraines are costly seeking answers and you always get stroke or heart attack treatment going to the ER. Symptoms are similar but no one ever checks the EMR for the history of the patients. It’s all about money and pushing people out the door to open the bed for the next guy. Test after test med after med with no cures and no real answers. The system is broken!
Curious - I never made the connection before but I started having migraines, fortunately infrequent, shortly after getting a 240V AC shock from a faulty lamp as a child.
My hemiplegic migraines started 47 years ago when I was 8. The doctors thought I had had a stroke. I have the visual aura, the sensory aura and eventually the hemiplegic. My migraines are accompanied by severe nausea and vomiting and pain. Over the years I've had all the drugs going but the only ones that control it a little are epilepsy ones. I still don't go very far in case of an attack.
I'm using CBD & RSO from marijuana plants. Not from the HEMP plants which is what u r seeing sold in stores. It's worth it to try honestly. It's not 'able to cause any harm' so do a little poking around & who knows? It could have a miraculous impact? Sorry for your pain.
Can someone email me and start a group discussion or something so I don’t feel so alone
Jordan Smith > It's okay. The first couple of times you have the aura symptoms, it's scary--trust me. However, you just have to tell yourself it's part of the migraine beginning. I was driving when I had my first one, thought I was just tired. However, my vision in my right eye slowly started to fade. Of course, I panicked--hard. I was pacing back and forth wondering what the hell was happening and what was I simply going to do. All those fears of losing my vision, going blind, and never being able to see again came up in my head. The aura slowly went away after about an hour or so, and I was hit with the headache. Think of them all as warning signs--red flags for headache preparation. If you experience migraines frequently, you may want to discuss with a doctor possible medications or trigger reductions to feel better. But, if you are left with one thing out of this long-ass paragraph, just know that the auras can't harm you--you aren't going to go blind.
Thanks man I’ve had several, my biggest fear is going blind, my eyes seem to be fine when I got em checked and I tried ruling out tumors or anything, I just wish it was easier to accept i suppose. I tell myself it’ll go away and I just can’t shake that feeling! But thank you for the words man, it does help a lot. Guess it just another part of life to work around
You dont have to be afraid of going blind ,because migraine occurs in your brain and not in your eyes ! I always had an aura no headache and after i had strange feelings in my arms and being scared is always part of the deal ,even when you know its the migraine
That is true, thanks you guys for the emotional support, hopefully we all find triggers or whatever else and move past it !if not at least be hopeful we learn to manage haha!
What's so bad with this section? It goes away in 20 to 30 minutes. In my case mostly bright lights trigger this, but i once had it at 1 am in the middle of the night. I get terrible anxiety while it lasts and the final 5-4 minutes are the worst. it feels like someone shut out the sky for me and its all too dark.
I thought I hurt myself without knowing when I came back from the gym. I got home and laid down and started watching hot ones with gordan Ramsey on CZcams lmfao and i noticed k couldn't t see his mouth and started seeing weird lines and dots and flashes, I didnt want to take a pain killer bc i didnt eat anything so i forced myself to sleep, hopefully i never get one again
sleep helps to cure migraine faster
I was writing an exam when it happened, i sleptt through the exam and completed it in 15 mins
I always go through all mentioned phases - it's when I feel to want to die, that's how unbearably bad it gets. Most often no medication helps at all, sometimes L-Tryptophan and Ibuprofen cure it entirely within half an hour, but not always. My long term curing plan is a diet, minimum added sugar, alcohol, processed foods and overeating in general plus psychotherapy. In the recent years of doing all that migraines are much rarer and easier to handle, but still can happen.
Tried massages, antidepressants, acupuncture, various vessel treatments - no success for me.
Hey. I'm sorry to hear your struggle, I feel similarly. After seeing you mention L-Tryptophan, I thought I should throw in my experience with the similar supplement 5-htp. Not sure if you've tried it, but I find regular usage (a few times a week or more) prevents migraines almost entirely. I usually don't think think 5-htp is helping, but when I run out the attacks begin again usually within about a week. Obviously your mileage may vary but thought I should share.
Also, I personally find paracetamol to be more effective than ibuprofen. Especially when mixed together.
And to be honest the most effective pain killers in general are opioids, examples of fairly safe ones are codeine and kratom. Though... A lot of people have convictions against opioid use and that's understandable given their abuse potential. Though if you feel like you want to die as you put it :( it might just be worth the negative side effects anyway... Definitely discuss with a doctor before deciding however.
But getting back to my main point, give 5-htp and paracetamol (with ibuprofen if you're inclined) a try if you haven't already :) that's commonly reported as a more effective combination; myself included.
It’s like a kaleidoscope for me. I also get numbness in my mouth, and hands. I had my first during pregnancy. Luckily my mom had mentioned suffering with migraines auras as well, so I knew to call her. It can be terrifying if you aren’t aware of what they are.
Tina Bean I was so brain washed by my parents because they said it was just a normal minor headache that everyone gets. I didn't find it scary because I thought it was just a normal headache.
Thats crappy. I didn’t get them as a child luckily.
Excellent video. Very helpful. Thank you.

Sounds like you might be dehydrated and that’s causing the aura
Best way to recover from a visual aura is to stop wat ur doing and take a nap to skip and tada- vision is back to normal.
Like a reset
I have had the Aura without pain quite a few times & feel yucky afterwards. If i can i try & sleep though it. It can happen every day for a week & have years in between. The video is the most accurate that ive seen.
Just had this for the first time and now my head hurts so bad
Had one of these for the first time staring at a light bulb. Got no pain after though. Had one again soon after, the pain is so bad and you cant see anywhere. All you could do was lay down 'cause standing up made you puke. Drinking water made me puke, heck even when I haven't got anything in my stomach, my body still wanted to heave when I stood up and walked.
One thing that sorta works in alleviating it is when I get the aura, i lay on my right side and block my eyes so it's all darkness. Then I just lay awake eyes closed 'til it disappears. I usually avoid the headache with that but sometimes it doesn't work so I just power through the pain :') Sleeping helps and lotsa water after the headache.
I used to get the backwards, jagged C moving from left to right in my field of vision - no real pain but maybe a little nausea.
I get those too
My auras look like the one in the video, starts out as a fuzzy imperfection in the middle of my visual field, then gradually gets larger with the flashing lights, until almost the entire field is covered. Lasts 30-45 minutes, independent of the migraine.
This is the closest representation of what my aura looks like that I have seen. There are very clear flashing black and white zig zag lines along the outside in mine however. Starts quite small and slowly increases in size, and is usually over in less than 10 minutes. Thanks so much for this - even my eye doctor didn't seem to understand what I was talking about and it's kind of scary.
How did you correct that? Plz help me!
@@thepriyeshmishrachannel7654 I get the zig zag lines as above but not the actual headache. The first time I got this I thought I was having a stroke. My speech was affected, started stuttering. This happens when I am in bright white lights like a large store. For me I have to always wear sunglasses and if you are having one, go outside, sit down and close your eyes.
The truly worst thing about migraine auras is that I am constantly paranoid that any vision disturbance (like a blackspot from looking at a light), my limbs getting a little numb, etc. is another attack happening. My migraines are pretty rare compared to other people from comments (months or sometimes years), but the "wait" for the next one is what makes it the worst, especially if I haven't had one in a while.
The scariest type of migrane aura is Alice and Wonderland Syndrome. Which is what I have. The neurologist said it was a migrane aura. Imagine yourself just scrolling through your phone, then all of a sudden your phone gets really big, but everything around you is really small. Episodes like this last about 3 to 10 minutes. Short but scary.
When I get these they last 20 minutes.Only get them like every couple of years but I am 70 years old and been getting them since 23 years old.
They are always scary.hate them.I get a mild headache afterwards.I see zig zag lines and can't see well.My eye doctor has checked my eyes and said this is optical migraine without headache.
I have exactly the same thing as you! It lasts 20 minutes, I see zig zag lines, they don't give me any headache(I mean I get very little headache)
Same here. 20 mins, zigzag lines, no headache. I have had them since I was 13 and I would have them in every month when I was young. Now I tend to get them in every 1-2 years.

I have the exact same thing. Lasts about 30-45 mins, little to no headache and no lingering symptoms. I'm 34 and I get them once every couple months.
One day before I knew how to alleviate the symptoms, I had two aura waves, ate a full plate of chicken for lunch and proceeded to go to class in the afternoon. I threw up three times later that day and learnt my lesson.
My doctor has prescribed Sumatriptan. I take it as soon as the aura starts.
Same. That's what my neurologist prescribed me for a rescue med.
usually whenever i get them i see weird dots and lines then my fingers and face goes numb for a few minutes then the headache kicks in
Get the aura for about an hour then bad headache for a day or two... happens about once a week
I have visual auras all day long every day. Any time I look at something bright, especially after being in a dimmer area, I get one. Looking out the window, at the TV, or at my computer monitor can trigger one. I rarely have the actual following headache, but having these auras all the time is very annoying. My doctor says they have no treatment, I just have to live with it. When I do get an actual migraine, it's usually accompanied by dizziness and nausea, and I just go to bed and sleep. Usually once I wake I feel better.
I told my friend "I can't see you properly right now because I'm having a migraine aura" and she thought I was drunk
Hard to explain to someone who has never experienced
I get auras. My eye specialist ordered an MRI because he said auras are a neurological issue.
Very very real
It's that what exactly happens with me ....
Ur animation is real
Thanks for the video 📸
Mines are like this but the C shape is colourful.
My migraine mostly last 1-6 hours
That's is so right woooow
My aura is like the one on this video except no gray/blind spot and the zig zag line is dark purple and flipped to the other side
I get the fatigue just before and during the attack, I feel like a could literally go to bed and sleep all day but I can't sleep. Its like something has sucked the energy out of me.
I’ve had all of these, or similar my whole life but never knew what they were because I don’t have the migraine, just the odd sensations like half my tongue being numb, tingling hands and visual auras. I really like the visual stuff because as an artist I just find them interesting or pretty. Afterward I’m disappointed they stopped. Part of me is shouting “again!”. Kinda like being on an amusement ride.
In the postdrome phase I feel a strange sense of euphoria. Maybe it's the relief that the pain is finally gone.
when an aura start to happen in my eyes I just close my eyes until it goes away takes like 5 minutes if i not close my eyes it gets worse and then my head start to hurt
I would trade my visual aura for something else. It’s the worse. It’s basically going blind for 40 mins. I rather just take the tingling. I stopped playing sport in high school and put on 70 pounds just because of this. I was shell shock from having these 4 times a week after practice
Tbh when I get these it kinda feels like right after someone takes your picture and you see spots but it doesn’t go away and it’s only in one eye. Then I start not being able to understand what I’m reading or writing out so I have to stop and just wait for the pain to come
I'm fifteen and had one few months ago... I thought i had stroke... first i saw black and white spots, i turned white, i puked and headache
Wait I am 15 too and starting to have auras
For me it started when I was 11. It hurted like hell for me but now after getting aura migraine every month, I simply got used to it.

I get tunnel vision and numbness that goes from my fingers to right under my nose. I've only had numbness in my tongue once I believe. I have no idea what my triggers are so I can't try to avoid them.
Just in case this mite help, I've had aura migraines on and off for a few years now and recently have discovered that if I exercise/workout when I get it or even after getting it that working out helps me to rid the annoying after effects quicker.. Usually the aura comes on gets higher and bigger lasts for about 15 - 30 mins then the aura goes away and then I have pain between my eyes and a ugly feeling in my stomach for the rest of the day, and usually it ruins my day but now after I said stuff it I'm not gonna stop my day cause if it I'll do a workout and I feel better, not sure why, maybe cause it gets the blood flowing or endorphins or increase mitochondria.. Now in terms of triggers for the aura I'm not quiet sure I've but of recent times I'll write down when it's comes on and what I had done as in, looked at the phone for too long or bright lights like fluorescent lights mite be a trigger or sometimes I've noticed come in when I've had foods like oats/nuts/seeds, not all the time but often when I consume those kinds of foods and maybe from sulphites in those foods..
Mine was too little sleep and a week before my period , I will have food craving first , like super salty food or sweets

Interesting. My Neurologist simply said to take Magnesium supplements for my Migraine Auras that I have been experiencing for over 60 years. Daily 250 mg Magnesium supplements have reduced my Auras dramatically. Instead of getting them 3-4 times a week, I now get them maybe once or twice a month. This was a sudden change that I can only ascribe to Magnesium.

Even in my sleep they can start and I wake with it still going on. Usually last 30;mins but another one can start if I am unlucky
Try to not use computers and lower the brightness of your phone. Whenever I use computer visual aura often happen to me
Mine is not exactly the same, but every time it starts with a spot, where I cannot see anything for minutes. Sometimes it's crazy: you look into a face, and suddenly there is no nose. You read a book, and suddenly some letters are missing. A colourful "zig zag line" will frame the spot later, then you know: Aura! It will "grow" into a big C, for 45 min, then the headache is there. It could happen twice, three times, four times a day, you never know. Headache is increasing in spite of ASS or Ibuprofen. I cannot see, and I often feel dazed, so I can't go anywhere by car, because I might not be able to drive back home.
I sometimes wake up with an aura, too.
I tried almost everything the last 40 years, now I only take medication against the pain - as quick as possible when the aura begins.
I do relaxation exercises. Sometimes it seems to reduce the number of attack per month - sometimes not. But it's good for me anyway, so I continue.
