The thing about Planeswalker ultimates is that, if you get to them it means you had a Planeswalker on the board for several turns giving you advantage and you also clearly had the better board state all that time because otherwise they would have just attacked the Planeswalker. So if you get to the ultimate, you were probably already winning anyway.
(that's not to say ultimates aren't very good, I'm just saying it's usually the least relevant ability because you're always looking at "can this card help me win games that were relatively even or turn games I was losing around to me winning". That's more important than "can this win me the game faster")

Standard is obv a very restricted (the by far most restricted) constructed format.
If we were to take Modern as the "main format", there are a lot of tutors that see regular play (some of them are amongst the most played cards, even).
Fetch Lands, Urza's Saga, Expedition Map, Stoneforge Mystic, Steelshaper's Gift, Tolaria West, Eladamri's Call, Chord of Calling, Vivien on the Hunt, Whir of Inventions, Karn the Great Creator...just to name some off the top of my head.
Then there are also cards that dig fairly deep like Memory Deluge (up to 7), Collected Company (6), Ancient Stirrings (5), Ingenious Smith (4) etc alongside many cards that let you dig 3 like Preordain, Expressive Iterations, Thought Scour etc and then there are plenty more heavily played cards that replace themselves like Mishra's Bauble, Spellbombs, Relic of Progenitus, Ice-Fang Coatl, Omnath, Risen Reef. And there are of course cards that can generate card advantage over time like The One Ring and Planeswalkers with card draw abilities etc
All of this combined makes Modern decks incredibly efficient despite being 60 card decks.
So much so that it was absolutely no problem at all to play _80 card decks_ and use Yorion as a companion - a card that has been banned since (simply due to searching cards out of 80 card decks took annoyingly long in paper games and was impractical).

Brainstorm isn't banned but it was suspended in historic
suspended means it is banned temporarily

Suspended is honestly one of the most bizarre things WotC has ever come up with. Things could already be taken off the ban list, so it's just a second ban list.

I saw a lot of weird stuff during the Chrome Mox discussion in chat. First note, the list of original Moxen was off, Opal is not one of them, Pearl is the white Mox. Opal is a retrain that can make any color but is legendary and you need 3+ artifacts out to do anything. Another person listed the power 9 but was off on some, they got Lotus right and that there are 5 Moxen, but Time Walk is the one in the power 9 and Time Warp is a retrain, Brainwash is a trash card and no clue where they got that, the missing 2 are Ancestral Recall and Timetwister. Finally someone said Mox Opal is the worst Mox, hard to agree with that when Mox Tantalite exists and Opal is good enough to eat a ban in Modern.

This a very confusing video format. She's showing cards from various different formats without providing context for said formats. Like, she showed a card that's banned in standard as an example of a "banned card" but also showed one of the most important cards in legacy as an example of a "legal" card. That's incredibly unfair to folks that aren't aware of the power level gap of the various formats.

She also completely misremembered why Field of the Dead was banned, it was banned AFTER Scapeshift rotated out of standard lmao

yeah, unfortunately all these videos do this. It's especially unfair to Yugioh players imo. They should stick to one format per video.

@@Lightning_Lance the cardmarket videos (staple or stinker) is pretty fair. sure - sometimes you lack context as the "guesser" but that will always be the case with an unknown tcg. But the game itself is clearly defined and makes sense.
This one is just a clusterfuck.
Especially since she _literally said_ "Tell me if you think the card _is good enough_ to be banned."
Meaning the correct answers to cards like Force of Will is always "Yes. It is strong enough to be banned." That's why they were never reprinted into the modern era - bc if they had, they would just get instantly banned.
But instead of sticking to that idea, it then became about if they actually _did_ ever get banned (for which they have to be legal to begin with etc) and it just becomes a clusterfuck where literally _only_ historical context matters and hardly the card and its power level itself
edit: tbf, she seems all over the place in general. can't even properly use the terms "instant speed vs sorcery speed", when asked if there were ways to put counters on planeswalkers she had already forgotten about the fact that they just talked about proliferate like 2 minutes ago, didn't at all explain what makes Brainstorm ban-worthy etc.

I feel like magic appears to have very popular attractive women in their community and I'm jealous Yu-Gi-Oh doesn't have more of them. Would happily support improving this unfortunate truth. Lol
