I bought a Termi (same as the one in your video) for my XdiavelS from Omnia Racing in Italy. It arrived in a Ducati box but there is no upmap key or any other keys. Can I use the exhaust without the upmap. Ducati in Malaysia (where I live) say they will only do the upmap if I buy the Termi from them or other authorised Ducati Dealer. This is very frustrating as 1) Omnia Racing says no Upmap needed, yet all the video's, including yours do the upmap? 2) I paid full Ducati price for this. Lastly I had the Termi insalled to check fir etc and the Check Engine light stay on because the Exhaust Valve servo was disconnected. Please help

You can physically use the exhaust without the map software, but the only way to get the full potential is with the map key tuning. Also, it will prevent the "check engine" light as it compensates for its removal. And, yes, the Ducati dealer are the facility that can install the up-map because they have the software/hardware that can interface with the bike. If the 3rd party seller does not properly register (Only dealers can) the new exhaust to your VIN, it will not work. When the bike is plugged into the DDS-3 computer, it pulls down the software.

Upmap key only comes with the termi when bought from the dealership. They will not sell the tune on its own. In your case your best bet is to get a aftermarket tuner like rapid bike or something similar. Long term without the tune can make your bike run too lean and may cause engine issues in the future

This is the deal that ducati is making with the exhaust manufacturers these days. You can buy the exhaust for cheaper if you get it from Italy in this case or a reseller however you won't get the mapping for which Ducati owns the right. This way Ducati can charge you premium. I know this because I even contacted their head office in Italy. I think they have done the same with the new V2 and Akrapovic exhaust. I've had the same problem and that's why I haven't got the termi exhaust for my xdiavel. As far the engine light goes I think you are meant to connect a servo buddy or something equivalent once you remove the servo motor. This tricks the ECU to think that the servo motor is still present and this is the case for most bikes. You are meant to do this before you turn your bike on for the first time after the install. You can still buy the servo buddy and install it but the check engine light will still be there until you clear the error code for which again you'll have to go to Ducati.

@@ra2627”causing engine issues”: are you talking from personal experience or dealer driven “hear say” maliciously wrapped to entice you to buy from dealer which would cost at least twice the amount if bought from Italian resellers? Remember the only engine related instrumentation interface that might have an adverse effect on the tail-end Termignoni silencer (if any) is the oxygen sensor which is installed way upstream of the exhaust system. I’m aware of a lot of people installing such Termi silencers without MAP keys with no adverse effect. The vast majority of dealers are natural sticklers so they make easy bucks owing to monopolistic status.

Yes. It usually displays, "Racing EVO" or "Racing" after the map is installed with the Termi exhaust.

You need the Ducati DDS 3 Diag tool to do it.

If you're fast it can be done in a few hours. As long as everything comes apart without issues.
