    I have a 18 duramax w/45K mi so I'm brushing up on some of these videos to be prepared to fix this when the time comes.
    .already have a new GM pigtail in the glove box and I always have plenty of tools onboard to do a job like this.

    Would you recommend replacing all of the pigtails on the drivers side since it’s open and available. Have 145000 on my 2017 and cylinder 6 is coding for me?

    • @nysios5159
      @nysios5159 Před měsícem

      Yes, def replace all of them. I get its a $300+ replacement, but you dont get to pick when they go bad and the stock ones are terrible. Get the fleece plugs.

    Danny, do the wires have markings on them to tell which goes to which? I have to do my #4 tomorrow.

      It’s a generic GM connector, so you’ll have to mark your wires before cutting it make sure they match up. I’d also grease that connector up with some dielectric grease and might as well hit all of them with grease while you’re in there. In my opinion, the connectors oxidize slightly from the heat /cool cycle and that causes a bad connection. I have a ‘17, and I plan to grease all of them up to see if I can avoid a failure.

    Weird the firing order is like that. Opposite on GM gas engines. 1,3,5,7 are on driver's side.

    I have a 2020 duramax with 186k plus on it. It kinda idles like this but it also idles with a light surge up and down. Any ideas where to start? Also which code reader on a budget will help me look for codes or issues? Thanks in advance.

      Did you find out what it was? Mine is doing the same

    • @bjenkins803
      @bjenkins803 Před 6 měsíci +1

      @Choctawhatchee_Trash Yeah it was the cylinder number 4 injector connector. I ordered a foxwell code reader off Amazon and it knew exactly what was wrong. Luckily it was an easy fix at home with basic tools. Dealer wanted 800 bucks and I did it for 20 bucks for the connector.
