      @@01SaharaEdition
      I absolutely agree! Same with Nitrous, centripical superchargers, corckscrew/root blowers and even weight reduction can be also.
      There’s plenty of replacements for displacement today...Even 30 years ago there was.
      Tell that to the guys that are stuck in the 60’s that think bigger is better and still go by that saying though.
      That was the thing that they did a long time ago but today that is the opposite.
      Most of us know the potential of a smaller boosted engine or even a small hi-revving V8 in comparison to a big block and that they all have different ways of replacing displacement to get more power out of them.
      Displacement sure does help but it’s not the deciding factor anymore when it comes down to it.
      I’ve heard that saying at the track in the wait lanes, time and time again though, even when that saying has been proved wrong time and time again. There’s still people that believe that and It’s usually coming from someone sitting on the hood of a 66 GTO with a 389ci engine in it (very sweet car btw) but he hasn’t been staged in the lanes next to a vehicle like this Explorer to find that its not the truth anymore lol.

    • @WilliamStewart1
      @WilliamStewart1 Před 3 lety +31

      @01SaharaEdition Forced induction is effectively increasing the displacement of the engine. Therefore it's not really a replacement just a different means of doing the same thing.

Cops might be able to go fast in a straight line, but you try whipping that 6k+ lb vehicle around corners the way other car’s can. It won’t go well, and Ik that from experience. My record for evading was 25 seconds from the lights going on, I was around some corners quick and he lost me. 🤷🏻‍♂️

      We would never get the Ford Bronco or well-developed Mustangs & Ford trucks if Ford kept pumping money into econoboxes that saw little return.

    People sleep on the Eco Boosts. The "eco" has always been a red herring. They put torque to the ground, and with a $500 tune they easily crank torque numbers off the charts right off the lot. Sound wise, its not even close, that 392 sounds like a rabid grizzly.
    The Eco was clearly on super meaty drag radials
    The SRT looks like it was running some ugly ass skinny sidewall street slicks. probably a good bit stickier than all seasons but the flexion on the rubber probably dulled his potential hookup speed. be nice to know the power and weight of both of these, No doubt the ST has some crazy high torque numbers.
