Pawnee Brave 20cc from Hangar 9

Had my first flights with the Pawnee powered by a Stinger Twin 20cc. Made some mods including wing bolts with quick locks which makes assembling and disassembling the model at the field a blast.
The 20cc engine has enough power for scale sport flying. Really enjoy this plane and the ARF kit quality was good as expected, did not have to use the iron at all.
Also mounted 5 1/2" baloon wheels which are on the heavy side with over a lb for the pair but Kavan wheels in this size, which are much lighter, where not available.
Have receiver and battery redundancy installed using Frsky Archer receivers.
All in all a good looking and fun to fly model.

I am in the middle of my Pawnee build. I use stinger engines on all of my planes. I thought of putting a twin on this build but had a new stinger 20cc single already so thats whats going on it. I can always go back later and change the engine out part of the fun of the hobby great video thanks for posting it

Interesting.... I have a Pawnee and have been trying to decide if I want to use a DLE 20cc single or a Stinger 20cc twin for power. I see you were able to mount the twin without the heads sticking out the sides of the cowl. That is pretty cool. Couple questions for you.... Do you think the single would have given you more power than the twin? I noticed you mentioned it was scale like in performance. Also, I have heard with the DLE installed there is still a considerable amount of nose weight needed to be added to get to proper CoG. After installing the twin, how difficult was it to get the correct CoG? Did it require a ton of weight in the nose, tail? The plane appeared to be a good flyer. Appreciate your thoughts. Use mostly twins as I do not like the vibrations of the singles, also videos with a wing mounted cam would not have been possible. Do not think that a 20cc single would have more power as the new Stinger twin.
My setup is quite heavy but did not need any additional weight to balance using three 3000mAh battery packs. One just in front of the CG and two behind.
The Pawnee flies very predictable and basic aerobatics can be flown quite clean but for knife edge the elevator corners have to be cut at the apropiate angel to get max rudder throw. Also reenforced the fuselage, at the bulkhead where the wing leading edge rests, with glass fiber mat and resin as suggested in one of the RCForums.
It is actually a fun plane to fly and also well build.
Now, after 70+ flights, I am happy that I used the 20cc Stinger for this type of plane, eventhough I wished to have some more power after the first few flights.
