- Today I’m going to talk about how I manage my ADHD without medication. Because I didn’t receive a diagnosis until I was in my thirties…I was already trying to manage ADHD behaviors without knowing I had ADHD!! These are the tops 5 things that have helped me…there are many more ways but I wanted to focus on these 5 things first!
🌟Disclaimer 🌟 I am not a doctor or medical professional. Please talk to your doctor about your personal ADHD and what is the best treatment for you! I am NOT telling anyone to stop their medications…this is just my story of how I manage mine 🙏🏼❤️

I agree 100% !❤️🤗
My bestie suffers the time thing in the reverse. 10 minutes would feel like HOURS to her and she was always exhausted. I don't know which med she is on for her ADHD, but she says she LOVES it as it allows her to actually not be exhausted after a simple day at work. I'm so grateful people have OPTIONS now and that it's getting more recognition. And I'm so grateful you're out here sharing with those of us who don't have Hoarding Disorder or ADHD (as well as very likely helping those who do not feel so alone!) so we can better understand and be just that much more loving for our friends who do.
Baroque music is proven to be excellent to relax and remain focused.
I was diagnosed with ADHD seven years ago. I take Wellbutrin, which is a non-stimulant medication that is also used for anxiety and depression, both of which I also have. I'm not sure if my body could handle a stimulant due to my high blood pressure, but I have often wondered how differently it would affect me. I may talk to my doctor about it.
Meanwhile, I have a tip that has helped me: they're called writing or productivity sprints. They are livestreams hosted by writers (and sometimes by other CZcamsrs) where they run a timer for so many minutes, and while the timer is running, you focus on your chosen task. Between sprints, you can participate in the chat with the other people attending. Not only is it a great alternative to a timer, but it's also great for accountability and body doubling! Sometimes I tune in if I want to focus on my writing, but other times I do it in order to get my housework done. It helps a lot!
I don't believe in coincidences. When I stumbled on your channel I knew it was meant to be and just what I needed. I haven't got a diagnose but I am sure I got something. Ever since my childhood I have been hoarding and now is the time to let things go. Step by step. I collect the same things you do. Yeah, even labels and stickers. Everything needs to pass between my hands before I let go, sell or donate. Taking control over things is the only way to let it go as well. It is so hard but seeing you lifts me up and inspires me. God bless you ❤
Thank you for sharing! I'm 57 and never been diagnosed with anything other than PMDD when i was in my 30's , I also was bullied when I was a kid in school , I struggle to keep my house, car and life tidy and organized, my husband and adult children get their feelings hurt and get angry at me because they'll be speaking to me about something and my mind wonders and they say "never mind ! You never listen to what I have to say!" I say come back! I was listening! They say then what did I just say to you? And I can't remember, I do care what they say, I just can't focus! I'm going to my doctor about this, I researched the inattentive prospect and it sounds like my whole life in a nutshell, I've never heard of it so THANK YOU!!!!!!
I set timers for everything around my house to keep me focussed on tasks especially when I was trying to get myself and kids out in the morning
I don’t know if I have ADHD, I haven’t got tested. The information and what helps you is great advice. Thanks for taking us on this journey with you. Miss Pepper is by your side always. Have a great week. Mary, Joes wife 🙇♀️👏👍💪💐🙏🐈
I am a list maker….if I don’t make a list I do nothing 😊❤️great lesson as always 😊❤️
My son has ADHD and he chose to go onto medication this past fall. He is taking the lowest dose of Vyvanse and he feels great! For you, you may have developed coping mechanisms that help you manage without medication. You are doing the best for yourself. Hugs!
twirling hair is a type of stimming to calm yourself.
Pepper is so calm laying on the bed. Pepper says slow down and enjoy life. Love your videos which have helped me immensely. ❤❤
I was also not a fan of adderall! I did not like how it made me feel, I felt less capable of doing tasks and thinking. I’m glad it’s so helpful for many people, but I’ll take the adhd symptoms 😅
I really enjoy lo-fi music now for focus and tasks but you totally made me realize how back in high school and college I had to listen to Vivaldis 4 seasons while writing papers - it was the only way I could focus!
Thank you so much! Lists and setting a timer really help me. I do like to have music or podcasts on to help me focus but I have to make sure I don’t waste time figuring out what to listen to. I can definitely go down that rabbit hole! Love the images you used!
Time
Started doubling the time I estimated which helped immensely. Yeah being late always flusters me.
Thank you so much for this video. You could've been describing me this whole time. I really appreciate your tips and some of then I had already implemented myself over the years.
The dopamine hit was new to me and it now makes sense why I like to write a 'to-do' list and love crossing off what I have achieved.
Thank you so much.
Hi Miss Heart ❤️, I accompany you from the beginning….and kudos, you have come a long, good and save way. Thank you for teaching us in one or another way! 🌟
This is very much me although I don’t have the time struggles because I obsessively do everything stupid early and leave huge amounts of time with tasks and events. I’m awaiting a diagnosis but I’d give anything for the thoughts to slow down. I was drinking to slow them previously but have since quit. Thank you for sharing your perspective. Definitely makes me feel less alone. ❤
How do you go about shopping when you do need things? Have you bought new clothes, makeup, etc since starting your hoarding recovery journey? Can you make a video on that?
Great video! So helpful!!
Love you. I miss your straight-up decluttering videos!
❤I relate so much to this! Thank you ❤
Any links to the ADHD charts, etc. you show in video ? or books they're from or ? Thanks for making these videos. I'm struggling with exact same issues.
Thanks for sharing!
Hi, I wish I knew your name. I thank you so much for your tips. Even though I don't have HDAD, I do want to get my dopamine going in the morning and throughout the day. It's nice to feel good especially having things to help it. I do know people who have ADHD and will surely appreciate these tips. I and on behalf of others thank you. Whenever you come across more tips. Please share, it will help all of us even if we don't have it. This world is upside down nowadays and anything besides God to help us cope with what's going on, will help.
Drinking tea is my favorite thing ever!! Unfortunately having kids now, I hardly have the opportunity to enjoy a semi-warm cup of tea! 😂 I also used to always listen to music but now CZcams videos have taken over my life since it keeps me company while I do mundane tasks around the house 😊 but I really think I should switch back to music more… i also make lists all the time! Hubby teases me bc he doesn’t need that! Haha also the lack of time perception! Such a problem haha thanks for the helpful video! No idea if I have ADHD but I definitely have some symptoms! Something changed after having 2 babies 😂 I prefer no medication though….
So interesting thanks for jeering us informed about solutions 💜🦄
Thank you!
Hello from Germany,hi Miss Heart and miouw pepper. Thx for Charing. Good idears
Great video! I didn't even know about inattentive adhd. That is gonna be a rabbit hole...lol🥰
Miss Pepper doesn't look like she has ADHD. 🐈🇨🇦
Thank you 😁👌🏻.
Pepper is precious!
Thank you so much this video helps me with my 12 year old daughter who is ADHD inattentive type. Also, likes to hoard.
I have twirled my hair my whole life and never put it together that it had to do with my adhd WOW
I have ADHD too and not until my 30s. I'm struggling. I've been in my house 2 years and so not set up. I also have 1k Sq ft garage of stuff that needs to go through. I'm a veteran and also have PTSD. I'm really struggling and need help. I'm embarrassed and don't know how to ask for help.
Also not a fan of any adhd medication!
I read somewhere that jumping up and down (also on the trampoline) is really helpful which I can confirm. Also, it‘s so much fun 😊
I have found that since my dog Edward passed away it's got worse my adhd brain can't cope
I legit got distracted for 4 minutes in my thoughts after you mentioned that the thoughts of people without ADHD seemed slow to you 😅
❤
Part 4 ??? I need to watch other parts. Might want to add that info in title.
I think you misheard what she said... She wants to focus on the ADHD part for now ... Not part 4
hmmm, maybe I'll test myself for ADD/ADHD as a b-day gift for myself 🤪
Thank you thank you thank you!! So many amazing points!! 👏🏻🫶🏻🥰
Can I ask where you headboard is from lol
I tried meds older and I think I just to old now maybe when I was younger it would of helped..
👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤❤
I took ADHD medication. I felt okay but when the medication wore off, it made me fade and I felt depressed.
Rebound is normal on meds once they wear off. I try and overlap my 3-4 ritalin tablets a day by about 20mins, so they don't wear off completely.
Have you considered that you're likely AuDHD? Especially with having an ASD child?
Please take a look at how Autism presents in AFAB people.
Somewhere around 80% of people with ADHD also meet the criteria for Autism.
Girls were NOT diagnosed when we (you and me) were growing up. I had my own traits dismissed by MULTIPLE therapists when I brought up ASD. Every one of them dismissed it as anxiety. Guess who finally got diagnosed after a burnout at 45.
To anyone who is reading and has recently heard HSP as a term, and identifies with those posts. You're Autistic too. HSP is a made up thing which describes how Autism presents for high masking female presenting Autistics.
What does HSP stand for, please? I think I’m also autistic due to some sensory issues of mine, but then I‘ve also been told that sensory overload is an ADHD trait.
@@BlackMarilynMonroe33 I think HSP stands for Highly Sensitive Person, if I remember right.
@@mrandisg thank you so much for your response. I immediately did a deep-dive into videos about Highly Sensitive People-I’d say this describes me perfectly. I’m in tears because I don’t know how to dig myself out of this hole. I feel like The Titanic. You mask all your life then, crash 💥, the bough breaks. I actually thought I was recovering by healing my adrenal fatigue a couple of years ago, but that was nothing compared to how my mental health inevitably capsized, even while seeking therapy and being prescribed medication after medication.
@@BlackMarilynMonroe33 I’m so sorry to hear that. Believe me I’ve been there. Just remember you’re not alone. Sending positive vibes and thoughts your way!
@@BlackMarilynMonroe33 Hi. I don't know you, but I stumbled over your comment. I am a late diagnosed AUD(h)D female and am going through autistic burn-out. Just like you mention I meat all the criteria for HSP too. Autistic burnout with sensory overload and struggle with executive function is a real thing. I commend you for accepting help, going to therapy and trying medication, because I know how hard it is!
A real lifestruggle. I wish you well and like Mradisg was saying: you're not alone. ☺I hope you find some comfort in knowing there are more people (online) who are experiencing what you are right now. Please be kind to yourself and take a breath whenever you can.
NB: I don't know your age but I recently found out that peri-menopause can make ad(h)d -symptoms as well as autismsymptoms getting worse due to hormonal changes.
