- Teacher, scientist, author, intellectual, and winner of the 1976 Nobel Prize in Economics, Milton Friedman was one of the 20th century's greatest proponents of free markets and individual liberty. The Power of Choice tells the story of his life. Overcoming almost universal opposition to his unconventional views, Friedman persevered, until eventually, many of his ideas came to be widely accepted. He lived to see those ideas transform economic theory and practice, inspiring changes that have improved the lives of millions of people worldwide.
Through interviews with leading economists and policymakers such as Alan Greenspan and Estonia's Prime Minister, Mart Laar, The Power of Choice explores Friedman's tremendous influence on policy - and daily life - in Estonia, Chile, and the United States. This 90-minute documentary, which premiered on public television January 2007, includes a bonus interview with Milton Friedman and Bob Chitester, creator of the Free To Choose television series.

Unfortunately this is impossible. But what is possible is to push forward by applying his ideas without modifying it. We have luck. He did all the job. We just have to apply it.

I just discovered Milton Friedman and his ideas and I'm very impressed with him. The influence he had around the world is amazing. His ability to communicate those ideas in a way that even I can understand is really understated and a testament to his teaching ability.

He became my hero when I watched a video of his (recorded in the '90) in which he predicted a technology which we today know as BITCOIN. Hats off to this great man.

A wonderful human being if there ever was one! What amazes me about authoritarians (on both the Left and Right) is their unbelievable arrogance and condescension. Why do they think that they have the RIGHT to use the power of government to impose their views on all others???? How dare someone tell me how I must live my life, spend my money, or use my body! Dr. Friedman spent his entire professional life fighting these authoritarian control freaks and, for that, I'll be forever grateful. RIP, my good man.
