Love this brother sister duo, Kate and Oliver Hudson. They're pure happiness and fun, they really are just like everyone else normal.
So wholesome. You can tell they've had many deep, uncomfortable conversations with each other in the way they are so willing to go there and in how they don't get triggered by potentially uncomfortable statements.

Giving each other a hard time but you can tell they care about each other like most siblings.
Love this interview! Oliver and Kate have such a great dynamic and such an interesting insight to the sibling dynamic. And love how Stephen allows them to speak, unlike other late night hosts who constantly interrupt.

Close your eyes and listen to Oliver speak and pull of some clip of Kurts around Oliver's age and you will hear Kurt's tone and cadence in Oliver. And, my bad for the grammar. I meant that Kate definitely sounds like Goldie not that she sounds like Kurt.
With so many messed up Hollywood families in the 60’s and 70’s, I can see where the family unit and their kids became the focus. All turned out very well adjusted and humble.
...for now! It's only a matter of time before some troll somewhere "uncovers" Kate and Oliver's racism or impropriety from the past. You know how that works, right? 😂

Every time I hear Oliver talk about himself in comparison to Kate, I always feel bad for the way he sees himself. He seems to really dwell on how much "more successful" Kate has been as an actor compared to him. I've listened to all their podcasts, and I can feel this continues to really bother him. I wish he could let go of that and truly embrace his own success for what it is. He's such a nice guy.
But, let's say he was an only child. The media would still compare his projects to his parents.

I went to a baby shower at Goldie Hawn's home which she had graciously offered for the event. It was the most lovely, warm, beautiful home. She created such a lovely family❤

Interesting parallels between my life and theirs. My brother is Oliver's age and I'm Kate's age. I was desperate for my brother's attention and he ignored me. We fought like cat and dog. We became the best of friends as adults. People think I'm older because I'm more vocal and I know what's best for me and for him and my brother tends to go along with it 🤣. We also look out for each other and will defend each other to the death. Noone knows me better than he does and vice versa.
My girls fought all the time or I should say my oldest she picked on her sister all the time and of course as they got older her sister is her best friend!!
My younger brother and I did not get along at all. We fought a lot we gotten physical. And now we’ve had gone our seperate lives, we get along great now more than ever.

I think it’s like that as siblings, especially if there’s only two and a girl and a boy on top of that. I’m 3 years older then my brother, we used to fight all the time as kids, now I’m 20 and he’s 17 and although we still have conflicts, we’ve never been closer.

Honestly, I like Oliver better because he didn't dress up. It makes him seem down to Earth which is nice. More of this all around.
She is a bigger star. She cannot rock up wearing jeans. It more speaks to male privilege in the business than you finding it down to earth when it's just lazy for a TV appearance. Women in Hollywood are held to a higher standard.
@@darkangel9171 I don't think Kate Hudson felt pressured to dress up, she's done other appearances and has dressed differently, and it's not male privilege, there have been times when male guests have underdressed, and Colbert's team asked them to put on a jacket/blazer/or nice shirt
If she hadn't dressed up all the comments would be about how frumpy she looks. Women can't win. Too much makeup, not enough, too fat, too thin. Maybe spend less energy focusing on how others choose to look.

Grew up loving Goldie and watching her find her man, and make a family, and I love those kids like they are my own family. It's so cool to be able to watch them grow up and become hysterical humans. This whole family is so adorable.

My older sister and I got along just fine as kids, then as teens we didn't get along at all, and I don't mean we fought, me and my sister don't really fight, at most we bicker... but what I mean we had zero interest in each other, and as adults we get along pretty well. I can't say we're super tight, like we're not constantly calling each other or anything like that, but when we get together its pretty fun. But she's pretty busy and I'm not, and I think it has to do with her having been a mom since I've reached adulthood, and I mean literally my eldest niece was born when I was 18 and I probably talk more with my niece (who's almost 20) than I do with my sister.
My younger sister interrupts me all the time, too.
