There nothing wrong with a support getting some farm to help get items quicker. If an adc is so butthurt with a support getting a small amount of minions, then they really need to grow up.

I do get the fear of leaving your teammates When I was gold at the start of the season, I could not leave my team alone 2 minutes without they team fighting with numbers disadvantage for no reason. Then in Diamond, my team pings me to go farm side lane because they are social distancing while there are no objectives on the map, but I got traumatized by my suicidal gold teammates and still go to mid lane for no reason from time to time. Also in gold people tent to go afk if you don't go to die with them to a obviously bad fight.

Thats the problem all this only really works for higher elo. In low elo your never going to get to farm because someone's GOING to get caught and give the enemy a free push so you either have to back and give up your side push or lose your inhibator.

Sure your team will randomly int 4v5 sometimes, but that doesn't mean grouping as 5 is better, since then there's still a good chance either some splitpusher takes your whole base or you int a teamfight/towerdive stupidly. (or you just fail at getting anything meaningful done). Sure if your playing a tank, pushing side waves is less important since you don't really get anything if your teammate loses a fight since you can't take towers, and you definitely shouldn't be farming your jungle camps as team pushes as 4.

  • @MrDrekki
    @MrDrekki Před rokem +105

the reason cs are important ? because it's the main variable of a multi variable game that you have full control over... the more control you have over a set of variable the more consistent you get, the more consistent you get the better you become at understanding more and more variable, therefore you climb because your understanding and average game knowledge and mecanics will progress as a result, everything in league is a math problem, gold, exp, mana, powerspike, item spikes, armor magic resist, penetration, lethality, how many tower hits you can take on this dive, how much second does it take you to move from here to here etc... EVERYTHING, every decision is math based, people say farming, cause it's the easiest of all those math variables to understand and the easiest concept to grasp : killing minions good, dying bad.
it's harder to explain to someone why giving away a dragon can be a viable strat to grab more platings, an herald and pressure on a tower, when the gold value of the objective and the buff of the dragon soul is not even a concept they grasp or fully understand, like, xp has value, stats have value, the scaling of a champion is the %multiplier effectiveness of those stats or the ease at which they apply it, Multi-variable systems are insanely complex, and when you realise that 80% of players don't even understand how armor and magic resist works, what's the point giving any other advices... just make it palatable, gold good, the more gold the better.

    • @Kamishi845
      @Kamishi845 Před rokem +6

It's not just that cs'ing is the most consistent way of getting gold, but it's because being able to get consistent gold is exactly what enables a player to get access to a lot of the stuff you mentioned e.g. more items, more xp etc. To say it's purely a maths problem is actually a bit too simplistic I think, because while you make those comparisons in a vacuum, compared to chess, League consists of 10 players with their own ideas and undersrstanding of the game and champion skills, that makes each game unique in a way games in chess just aren't. So what on paper if you were to look at the maths alone should be a winnable fight, suddenly isn't because of player agency. That's where individual strategies begin to matter because is it better to give dragon even if you being there could win that fight or do you stay top to take plates and towers because the latter doesn't rely on your team mates screwing up? Yet at the same time if you funnel all gold into yourself you better be able to solo carry it, or you let your team deal with stuff they can't deal with because you took all the gold and so on.

@HumanBeing bar the extremes (kill percentage 5 percent) yes it actually is. Obviously win rateis important but you can win a match and play terrible and lose a match and play well. I never said kda mattered because of course you can get a quad kill and then lose immediately to a split pushing yorick. You're kinda throwing the baby out with the bath water with extreme examples and like I said it's really hard to track someone's performance solely based on a Stat. I will say win rate on the high elo is a good Stat to track, but 51 percent win rate in bronze really doesn't mean anything. And the main reason I mention all of this is because of the stigma behind cs per minute. If you give generic LoL advice its probably safe to advise people to increase their cs per minute because it will likely lead to more wins especially in the low ranks. Not perfect but it is what it is, and at least you can look at it after the game and see where you could do better

Use with caution because you will get flamed and people will afk on your team.

Low elo has this scenario: your team is winning and destroys first 3 towers early. Cs is now much harder to access. It's low elo so your team can't keep their lead, your team throws or can't close out the game. Now enemy team has more cs and more gold and you lose.

My problem with low cs average as an adc main isn't about me not going into a lane to push it. It is about every other person has the same idea, including support.
Toplaner splitpushes top, midlaner fixes mid or bot wave, and jungler goes to whatever lane that's available when there is no jungle camp to clear. When there are camps to clear, they go into jungle, which frees a lane right? No. Support goes to clean it instead. And with mage supports being so popular these days I can't catch the wave before they end up clearing it.

Even now, free boots is the only real choice on any role or char. Also the bonus gold on kill is good but not as good because often times you get close to 300 near the 20 min mark when everyone is tunneling mid and out of the side lanes and doesn't really help split pushers all that much. The difference between galeforce, for example, and the components is easily enough to be the difference between winning and losing a fight. If you're getting 6 cs/min compared to their 10 cs per minute, assuming no kills or assists, and the 20 average gold per cs in the video, the 10 cs per minute guy gets myhtic at around 12:30, you get it at aroundd 16:00. 3 and a half minutes later. That is easily enough time for a drake or herald fight to happen where they have mythic and you have a bf sword and zeal. Winning that teamfight snowballs the lead and can easily be enough to result in the game another 10 or 20 minutes down the line. Particularly if we're talking about first item, the difference between the completed item and components is particularly large. Ironically the video almost acknowledges this by highlighting the importance of catching sidie waves, but misses that last step of why you want to catch side waves. It is to get gold, and similarly as important, solo exp. They solo highlight that it's pressure, but majority of the time, neutral objectives are down, thus the primary reason is for the resources.

Something that I think is interesting too is that it is waaaay easier to farm the lower the elo you are in, I'm plat in solo/duo but I play ranked flex with my friends sometimes where the game is high bronze low silver, and I managed 11.2 cs/m in a game where it didn't even feel like I was doing anything special. I think this comes down to whether or not your laner is punishing your cs in lane, and after lane how strong you are and therefore how aggressively you are able to steal enemy jungle camps. Also dying has a massively negative effect on your cs/m and it's much easier to not die in low elo.

Should I stop stalling for victories after a full build and just continue farming for gold I can't spend? I am a Pantheon mid main, and the helping teammates part makes my situation more confusing, they ALL rely on my R (too much, waaay to much), but they don't care about my waves and stuff (yet they blame me for low cs while forcing fights). And if I don't R and die with them my team will run it down. What are my options as a Pantheon, Panth can't solo carry or play 1v9, maximum 1v3 and that only if you're fed and play good on him. My champ needs a team, just some bodies to help him. Should I change my main champion to a mage or a 1v9 hypercarry, or should I change something in my playstyle. Btw I'm silver 4, playing for 10 months and I really need to win games, otherwise I'm gonna go back to bronze bots.
P.S. My lane phase is okay (for a silver player) I never feed when I play Panth, so it's about how to work with the team and being able to push my advantages. There are some games that I feel like I'm disabled, no roam opportunities, a very safe playing opponent and just 0 gank or even dive potential on my team.

High elo players sacrifice cs for better positoning or presence which makes sense when everyone knows what they are doing. In low elo you are wasting time not csing by joining fiestas and tracking the silver jg who is probably still looking in the shop at the fountain for 3 minutes.

You left out the main reason why coaches tell players to improve cs - it's easy!
A coach is paid to point out areas of their client's games that could be improved. Almost every low elo player isn't great at csing, so all a coach needs to do is look at their opgg, see low cs numbers, tell them to improve cs and job done - easy money. The coach can give this advice without doing any of the hard stuff - like analyzing games, or knowing detailed information about the champion being played. So why wouldn't a lot of coaches give the easy money advice? Of course, any decent coach would offer more detailed reviews as well, but from a coaches point of view "get more cs" is a baseline, it lets them think they've done something positive before they've even looked at the game, and gives them something to fall back on if they struggle to find other obvious deficiencies.

10cs/min is an early/mid game breakpoint of power
if you maintain high cs/min throughout the early portions of the game then you are guaranteed to be impactful in the game and not rely on coin flipping your teams
after 20 minutes your cs will usually fall below 10/min because you are fighting way more than farming it's only natural
thats why faker doesn't average 10/min
BUT go watch fakers vods and he will be more often than not 9-10/min up to min20
    go watch baus
he goes 0/10 and he is stronger than his 10/0 opponent
cs/min is your 1 and only easy path to high elo
going from 6/min to 7/min is going from gold 1 to diamond 4
    it's that powerful
go to 10/min and the game will decide that you are smurfing and inflate your elo like crazy
now there are characters with which keeping 10/min is extremely difficult
    like shen for example
but nobody demands from shen to be 10/min
but with jinx it's extremely easy and you should be prioritizing your wave always before trading
it's not bs and there are no easy ways of figuring out how to improve
on top of the fact that once you start climbing people will punish you harder and zone you from cs more often making you go back to 6 right after you figured how to be at 7
the single best tip to increasing your cs averages is to stop playing too many characters
focus on few and figure out your breakpoints in time and items to clearing the wave easily
this will ensure that the minions that you are not being contested on you don't miss

I've had things go wrong a bunch, but one of my best "keep your cool when sht goes wrong" decision was I played a game as kha zix and got my blue buff and gromp stolen, I was a bit salty but nothing else happened so I backed and decided to camp mid, their jungler decided to stay topside. 1 kill mid later and we get 2 kills bot and a dragon. since our mid was fed now I had complete control of dragon which lead to 2 more dragons, and the enemy team did a desperation baron. 20 minutes of being salty over my stolen blue buff and I get my sweet revenge by stealing baron. 90% of the games when I'm playing another role and a junglers buff is stolen, and he is seconds away from rage quitting. If I had done the same we probably would have lost. If I was to give anyone advice, it's to keep your cool. otherwise you could tilt off the map from 1 thing going wrong and lose a winnable game.

Shen can go sunfire titanic and clears waves like a breeze, cho has all aoe so he clears insanely wrll as well but these champions havr insanely strong team fight kits which is why you dont want them splitting, vs something like fiora she has more of a raw 1v1 dualist kit, her q and e work on towers for more further side lane pressure
Like even yoricks kit doesnt match that and even has better team fight presence with long range slow into a wall/hold for immobile champions, tankyness with item builds and sustain on q, ghouls that can block skill shots etc
