#indiehorror - Hry
i love a game where every character is compelled to record their thoughts and feelings with pen and paper, and immediately discard those notes wherever they happened to be standing at that moment
LOLLL I always think about that!
Oh, and they make sure to rip off the lower corner, of course. That's a normal thing to do.
😂😂
Hi Gab ! Thank you for playing !
I do like how classic looking these spirits are. Like the spectral whispy type as opposed to the generic undead corpse lady you see rehashed in most modern indie horror games. Quite refreshing tbh
It seemed they borrowed many things from Spielbergs Poltergeist movie, but the story were unique, and i love how you never really knew if the spirits could be trusted until the last ten seconds of the game.
There is a house in Upstate NY near Lake George. It is built above a cave system. The man who used to own it made a door over the entrance and built his house around it. In thw summertime, he would open up that door, and all the cold air from the cave system would cool the entire home. Very cool.
The creator of this game did a great job. 👍🏼
I'm from this area, but I've never heard about this! That's so interesting? Do you know if it's attached to Howe Caverns? Or Cooper Cave?
@@AlexisHoffmannMediaEd I believe Howe Caverns
@@AlexisHoffmannMediaEd definitely Howe caverns I just looked it up. Howe Caverns is named after farmer Lester Howe, who discovered the cave on May 22, 1842, after noticing that his cows frequently gathered near bushes at the bottom of a hill on hot summer days. Behind the bushes, Howe found a strong, cool breeze emanating from a hole in the Earth. Howe proceeded to dig out and explore the cave with his friend and neighbor, Henry Wetsel, on whose land the cave entrance was located. The cave is a constant temperature of 52 °F (11 °C), irrespective of the outside weather.[2]
Howe opened the cave to eight-hour public tours in 1843, and, as business grew, a hotel was built over the entrance. When Howe encountered financial difficulties, he sold off parts of his property until a limestone quarry purchased the remainder. The quarry's purchase included the hillside, which encompassed the cave's natural entrance.
The sound design is so good I keep having to pause because I think it's all coming from somewhere in my own house lmao
"The appliances LOVE me."
We love you too.
The audio design for this game is crazy good!! It sounds like the boards are creaking behind me in my room!
15:19 Finally, a game gives us a relatable reason why we find notes from one person everywhere.
"You're making me climb this twice!?" made me lol 🤣
I don't think I've seen Gabs this spooked by sound in a horror in a while, Gabs had some really expressive spooked side-eyes 👀
Agreed
LOL that skeleton slammed the door like "Stay out of my room!" 🤣
That skeleton keeps on doing things that make me laugh. It shoved the character out of the room like, "this is my room! get out!" and then later on it grabbed a chair and tossed it, lol.
The cheesiness reminded me so much of "Poltergeist".
Remind me if i ever go to a haunted house to bring several note books and lots of pens so i can make sure to leave journal scraps everywhere for future readers
An hour long video of a spooky game and a crochet project on a rainy day, what could be better 😊
Agreeeed!! Currently working on a baby blanket for a friends baby shower lol
Totally, just spooks and my chonky cat fairy amigurumi
Hello hello fellow crocheters 🥰🧶🪡
Are knitters welcome in this lil craft corner? haha
@@WitherDark All yarn crafters are welcome. We don't discriminate between needles or hooks here 🤗☕🍵
Mentioning _and_ quoting In The Mouth Of Madness within the first minute of the video = absolute win :)
Edit: (SPOILERS AHEAD IF ANYONE HASN'T WATCHED THE WHOLE THING YET) Having just finished watching the whole thing, that game was _such_ a love letter to the movie Poltergeist, from the ghost effects, the skull (particularly pressing through the walls), the portal effects, even right down to the voice of the ghost that helps towards the end sounding almost identical to the exorcist in the movie. Honestly, I could very easily (and happily) headcanon this game into the Poltergeist universe.
RIGHT?! I was getting poltergeist vibes too!
There were times when all I could hear was Tangina whispering about light, and the bad spirit using Carol Anne to distract the other spirits from the light. The ghosts in this game also look a lot like the bright lights that come down the stairs in the movie.
This isn't a house, it's a mansion. It's so big! Oh, and I really like that the spirits are very vaguely shaped; it's a nice touch.
11:32 Concur, I am a sound designer, and I am really digging the sound design in the game. 12:25 "Zu-u-u-u-ll..." 34:33 "They're here..." (I'm just a fountain of old movie references tonight.) By about the 1 hour mark, I'm thinking this is like a cross between Fatal Frame and Myst. Pretty cool though.
This game kinda reminds me of the book Episode Thirteen with the whole different dimensions thing. I read that book after hearing Gabs talk about it, and I loved it!
This is straight up 90’s/2000’s horror!!!! Love it!!!!! ❤
A Horror game and the dev name is cozy marshmallow??? This is gonna be GOOD
It's funny that Gab mentions that the font gives her old, classic horror vibes because the font and the teal color gives me Eternal Darkness vibes! God, I need to play it again for the millionth time.
I have been following your channel for a while now and I want to tell you how much I appreciate the subtlety of your subscription reminder thingy. The little click is enough to get the attention of new viewers but it is so unobtrusive that it does not disturb the video… Very well made!! Love to see it! Also: Bought the loops you recommended and am very happy with them! Thank you!!! 💜
One of those voices (42:45) sounds *exactly* like Zelda Rubinstein, best known as Tangina Barrons from the _Poltergeist Franchise,_ as well as Host of _Scariest Places on Earth (TV documentary series)._
But she died in 2010 and I didn’t see her credited as a voice actress in any video games.
The time stamp I used isn’t the first to feature her, by the way. It’s just the one I chose.
💚🤗🤗💚
I think it is moaning myrtle from harry potter.
@@JustKelso1993 I don’t know anything about Harry Potter. But if that’s who/ what this is supposed to be then it was definitely inspired by Zelda’s voice, since she long-predated the books or films.
@@Lesley_RedRhody Nope the actress just sounds like that, I know who you are talking about though and they do sound extremely similar, they both have that type of voice.
@@Lesley_RedRhodyit’s not, that actress has that voice authentically
being able to jump in a game definitely makes it more enjoyable
Who knew font choices would make such an impact?
It's raining outside, so it's time for a Gabs horror video, a cup of coffee, dimmed lights, and a nice blanket :>
The shack and lightning strike reminded me of a story from my 3rd grade teacher Mrs.Isman. She mentioned that one of her relatives way back in the day died due to lightning. He was with his brother in the barn and leaned against a metal pipe that ran from the ceiling into the floor. The barn was struck by lightning and ran through the pipe into the ground, but because her relative was leaning against the pole he was electrocuted to death. She told us this during our weather unit. Surprisingly, it didn’t traumatize me as much as it should have. 😂
Ths whole thing with the floating lights and whispery voice gave me heavy Poltergeist vibes.
Ooohh yess. Spooky gabs early in the morning. Let me get my coffee!!!
was waiting for sean to quietly open the door and yell BOO and just scare the crap out of gab
It's a good time to be working from home and watching another gameplay from Gab 😋
This game was so atmospheric. Enjoyed it!
omg, i used to have a recurring nightmare (from ages 8 to 16) about a skull with this greenish smoke around it, chasing me down for hours... it was waaay too similar to the skull in the game and i got a little paranoid for a good minute 😅
Gab and an indie horror, the perfect thing to relax to
Holy cow that was SO GOOD. The visuals were amazing and I loved the lore! It had such a cool lovecraftian vibe and it's so rare to get a lovecraftian game with a happy ending. I'm totally down for this one, it was so creative and felt fresh and cool.
Maybe I’m wierd, but I love how cheerful Gab seems in this video. Makes me feel better watching her knowing for certain she’s enjoying herself.
Towards the end though I could tell on her face that she was getting a bit tired of the constant stock noises lol.
Love ya, Gab. Hope you and Sean are enjoying life.
Love the Mouth of Madness shout out in the beginning.
So much fun to follow Gab through this spooky game! Thank you Gab!
The way the game is animated and how the camera sways makes me think of roller coaster simulators. Its so cool to watch!
“Do you read Sutter Cane?”
Deep cut. Nice. :)
So many Poltergeist vibes from this, right down to Tangina guiding us lol 🥰
01:20 Cozy Marshmallows? Horror? Of course! Reminds me of days when I used to roast marshmallows over the campfire while listening/telling ghost & other horror stories.
After your stream, I replenish my snacks, put the kids somewhat rapidly to bed, and settling in myself for this nice horror gameplay vid of yours. 🤩 Thanks Gab, for your huge part of this delightful relaxing day. 😄👍🥂🎉❤️ lots of love for Beebs, Sean and yourself!
I love how your videos are edited, the echo effect always makes me laugh :)
This gives me Watcher in the Woods vibes. Loved your content as always Gab!
The ambience and noises make this game so spoopy in itself Dude! thanks for another awesome video ^^
This IS a good-looking game! Haven't seen it played anywhere else. Thanks, Gab!
yayyy a gab horror video to watch while making & eating dinner :)
Ooooo! Another awesome Gab video!
That ethereal realm around 12:30 is giving me major "eyes in the dark, one moon circles" vibes.
Yessss...another fun playthrough with you
Gab you should really play Heilwald Loophole one day. It has such a fantastic ps1 feeling to it (very reminiscent of SH1) and it's very creepy and weird. It has a charming vibe though, I hope you'll take a look at it. John also played it if I'm not mistaken :)
The visuals are so cool! That was one scary Christmas tree ☠️🎄☠️ the beginning and the subtle suspense it built was my fave. I would love to see a game with just that vibe 😃
Great-looking game! Well-written with spooky and dreadful environments! Thanks, Gab!
This is probably the earliest I've ever been. I'm so excited to watch!
Keep up the great work Gab, this game is pretty cool I'm still watching it.❤
Really enjoyed this gameplay, as usual ❤ All I could think of is, "Don't go into the light, Caroline!" The voice actor of the spirits sometimes reminds me of the lady from poltergeist 😂
It was so good!! An hour of spooky time with Gab!! Yes please!! Off to find my next adventure!! ❤❤
This game was amazing, thank you for playing it❤️
It was giving Serpent and the Rainbow vibes
Hearing running footsteps getting louder when I'm alone has to be one of my biggest fears.
Title screen definitely gives 80s-early 90s horror movie title card. I immediately thought of The Prophecy... font's even similar 😊
just the thing to make me feel better! I'm pretty sure I have Covid or Flu, missed classes today and all that. Thank you Gab!
When you go “hellooooo?” It reminds me of luigi's haunted mansion when he does it 😅 great gameplay as always ❤
Yeessss I love it when you play horror/thriller games 😫🙌🏽
It’s 11 pm and your video made my day
Really enjoyed this game play you played it kept me so into the game story and it had me wanting more thank you for the video
54:35 you can move this boulder but not the chair blocking a door in the house
Gab mentioning my favorite horror movie "In the Mouth of Madness" and "Do you read Sutter Cane" has won my eternal devotion.
I'm just admiring the house and wondering how I would decorate it if it were mine. :3
The title reminds me of 80's horror movie or TV show title before game starts and lightning and thunder gives that creepy vibes, Keep up awesome and amazing job Gab 👍
the "Use the mouse..." at the beginning got me confused too 🥴. ugh thank you for the new horror playthrough, Gab!
Adoring this game
10:35 that is an adorable mug! I need that for my daughter!!!
Overally the athmosphere was fantastic so it was very entertaining to watch.
hi gab !!! i came across this game called chants of sennar and i think you’d enjoy it !! basically its making your way through a tower by translating a foreign language + glyphs ! im playing it on switch and its challenging my brain a lot lol
The spirit orbs reminded me of the fairy from the movie Legends she turns into a similar orb of light.
I had one of those propeller hats as a kid. I've been meaning to get the Nancy Drew games because I've enjoyed watching you play them. I definitely should get this game. Very creepy.
Your startled "Bruh"'s keep making me chuckle 😂
If you're looking for good indie horrors you missed Stasis: Bone totem and Signalis are both really really good indies that came out recently.
NGL if i found a place like that id keep it a secret because i wouldn't want a bunch of people coming on to my land and forcing me off it
The writing on the title screen reminds me of the oooold Richard Laymon books
That was awesome! I really enjoyed watching you play this. It had a definite R.L. Stine, Stephen King, and Clive Barker vibe. 👻
gab is feeding us! ive been watching your video everyday this week 😻💗
the attic reminded me of Madison, i remember you saying you wanted to add stringlights to make it more cozy hehe 🥰
isnt that the same ambulance in the end that u hear in the beginning of the game?
I like this game, the scares were so real...the story and concept is cool...All in all, it's different and well done...Thank you Gab 😄
When the menu of the game was on I was like "this font and colors and effects are like a Stephen King book"! We had the exact same thought 😮
Hi-ding in the co-mments. Oooooohhh i am hi-ding in the coooo-mments ~Coward's song
12:31 you've confirmed there is an afterlife, time to go home.
I'm only 43 min in and I can't help but feel like the skele is a guardian, which makes me suspicious of the ghostly voices.
Watching this and was like “that rain sound effect sounds really good!” lol it was raining outside and hitting my window 💀
29:37 Bro gave us a smooch
32:57 Let's start a flock of seagulls cover band called Stack of Ladders
Can’t wait to watch! My rest day is paying off 😊
I'd absolutely buy a tea or coffee named "Sip of Courage"! Perfect beverage for some "cosy" horror 😉
I feared the chair wass gonna go full tantrum mode! YIKES
The title is giving me major Law and Order: Special Victim's Unit vibes 😅
Watching this and having a taco right now. Life is pretty sweet.
Hi Gabs! I adore you! Thank you so much for being you❤
Instant smile: "oh! I can jump! What a luxury!"
