M. Noorul Quader - Weaving Threads of Success and Compassion

M. Noorul Quader studied Economics and served as a civil servant until 1974, heading multiple government ministries. However, his true legacy lies in pioneering Bangladesh's 100% export-oriented ready-made garments industry. After founding Desh Garments Ltd., he transformed it into the subcontinent's largest and most technologically advanced RMG production facility. His innovative spirit not only propelled his business but also significantly contributed to Bangladesh's social and economic development. Beside his government and business ventures, Mr. Quader was also the founder and chairman of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, the nation's official tourism organization. Apart from all these, Mr. Quader facilitated both the technical and marketing training of 130 young men and women at Daewoo’s South Korea factory back in 1978 and also devised the back-to-back letter of credit system, a non-funded financing mechanism based on a three-way commitment among bank, factory and buyer, for the financing of raw material. His indomitable spirit and vision continue to resonate through the generations of the Quader family.
