The original concept art for the salamanders is yellow and black, black torso, yellow limbs with black wavy lines like an actual salamander, the helmet is the same as the limbs, silver aquila (for primaris models, fist born and other marks without the aquila have silver on whatever is on the chest), black boots(not the armor just the "boots" at the very bottom are black) the backpacks are black with brass tops and gold in the center(optional, you can just leave it black if you want) and that's is add as many or as little ideas to the concept as you want and enjoy your unique salamander chapter

If I ever make a Space Marine army, it would be Salamanders or Lamenters. Salamanders really are the shining light in the awful grim-darkness. Protecting civilians and being truly good, decent people to those they swore to defend is such a contrast to the awful universe they inhabit.
Imagine a 8ft tall demi-god going home to see his barely 5ft tall momma. Sitting down to eat on Thanksgiving, X-mas, etc. She's fussing over him, wondering when he's going to get a wife, have some kids.
I think the salamanders being good people would make more people want to fight alongside them because who would you rather fight alongside with someone who WILL kill you or someone who WILL kill themselves for you
And because they had the NERVE to feel, every artist that draws them has an immutable need to draw them suffering from the weight of not being able to save something.
Now this is the kind of thing I can get behind, I've always appreciated 40k despite not interacting with any of its material directly so while I know very little overall this is a nice little nugget of information. I think a Salamander would fight all the more fiercely *because* they get to see their families and are out there fighting to protect them, and I think that's a great story telling piece even if it doesn't get explained directly. You know that all those people are just that, people. Under the armor and muscle and giant guns, they're still people who love their families and will go out of their way to help a kid find a sentimental item after protecting their town from whatever the threat of the day is. I like that a lot, it just feels nice
I can’t even put into words how much that sheer amount of protective zealotry to protect your family and the empire would turn even the most carefree and happy salamander into a walking super nova of protective hatred to the thing or person who threatened a family or empire forbid their home planet. Add on top of that Ogryns serving among them would be a great boon to their allies and a terrifying force of flame and destruction unlike most things would ever hope to see. Hell Khorne would probably have instigated the attack on the home world just to see what bloodshed it would unleash with his meddling.
I just imagine this young boy on Nocturne walking into his home one evening and there’s just this huge dude in oversized combat fatigues smiling down at him from a chair. “Hello.” “Uh…hi” Then his mom comes in and explains that this is his Great Uncle N’vaal, who joined the Emperors army of Dragons when he was just a boy.
People think that a person with absolutely no familiar ties would make the best soldiers. But actually the ones with families make an even deadlier soldier because they have a reason to stand their ground and fight until the enemy has to literally tear them to pieces just to stop them from fighting
As said by G.K. Chesterton. "The True Soldier Fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him." Doesn't hurt that the Salamanders also got a lot of hate for the enemies of the Imperium, but their love and kindness is what keeps them whole.
Interestingly, the Space Wolves of all chapters are actually a solid second place when it comes to actually caring about civilians. None of them are ever going to be on the same level as the Salamanders, but the effort is definitely there.
They truly embody the duality of man; they’ll go out of their way to help some random kid find their dog just for the sake of it, and their primary weapon is warcrimes. There is no inbetween.

Salamanders took the emporer angels title to heart
This is why salamanders are one of my favorite groups along with kreigers.
I love Salamanders. I wish they had more in-game than just a couple characters.
The only fire a salamander fears is the burning fury in his mother's eyes when he mistakenly talks back to her.
Looks like it could kill you is a cinnamon roll
"Burning everything in front of them"
Especially eldar children
The emperor said Vulcan had the one thing all his other sons truly lacked compassion
the salamanders, the lamenters and ogryns all have the biggest hearts.
And because they had the NERVE to feel, every artist that draws them has an immutable need to draw them suffering from the weight of not being able to save something.
That being said, there is no fury that butns hotter than a salamander avenging innocent lives who were murderer by evil.
You know the comic.
There is a reason why big E like Vulcan the most because he literally is the most human out of all his sons.
All the motions you felt. Other chapters may call it weakness, but for us salamanders, it is a reminder.. of where our dutues truly lie.
Malcador: ... Shit maybe I should have let Vulkan lead...
I think if I had an Army if would be the salamanders. They still have their humanity.
Imagine having a Space Marine for a father. You have all the bragging rights as a kid.
I love how the Space Marine chapter that look the least like humans are the most Human.
That Kid just lost her stuffed animal. DEPLOY THE LEGION!
I just imagine this young boy on Nocturne walking into his home one evening and there’s just this huge dude in oversized combat fatigues smiling down at him from a chair.
“Hello.”
“Uh…hi”
Then his mom comes in and explains that this is his Great Uncle N’vaal, who joined the Emperors army of Dragons when he was just a boy.
Eldari child crying in a corner : FWOOSH
Salamanders are my among my favorite legions for this reason its because they are the most kind and humanitarian
The salamenders and the lamenters don't forget about the good yellow boys
The Lamenters would like to have a word
Interestingly, the Space Wolves of all chapters are actually a solid second place when it comes to actually caring about civilians. None of them are ever going to be on the same level as the Salamanders, but the effort is definitely there.
Salamanders and lamenters are the 2 best chapters for humanity. Leave robot gorilla man to the taxes.
Imagine the tau found a salamander for their projects
The lamenters - are we a joke to you?
They truly embody the duality of man; they’ll go out of their way to help some random kid find their dog just for the sake of it, and their primary weapon is warcrimes. There is no inbetween.
