We're back with another channel favorite, BABYMETAL!
Here's our reaction to Babymetal - Arkadia - Legend Metal Galaxy 2020
This one was blocked for first two times we tried to post it. We had to fade the video even further to get it past the copywrite block. Our apologies!

The center stage goes up and down about 15 feet. It also moves about 50 yards out into the audience. There are two wings to the stage that the band is on. There are also two walkways that go out at diagonals to the main stage. This concert had an insane stage setup

Congratulations for finishing the official Trilogy of Lights, you pretty much got the meaning behind the songs but just to remember this is the final song not only of the trilogy but also from this Metal Galaxy 2019 album, after this they did Kingslayer, but that's a BMTH song, and later started with the new songs from latest album.
This power metal song is full of hope and this clip is from Legend Metal Galaxy Day 2 2020 so the Western Kami Band was playing here and yes, they were on the side of the stage, in the final song of both shows they got both Kami Band playing on the stage, one of the left and the other on the right along with the 3 avengers, an epic unique moment.
If you wanna see another official trilogy i suggest you the Trilogy of 2015, but those are not for reaction since are full concerts but part of the Metal Resistance chapter and it was really awesome, you already saw some clips from those such Road Of Resistance and maybe The One official MV.
Now that you watched the full trilogy, which one is your favorite and why is Shine? 😜
Kitsune up and till next time 🦊🤘🔥

Great reaction and thanks for reacting to the whole Trilogy of Lights in order and one after the other. 'Arkadia' is an excellent conclusion, so full of hope and optimism - not forgetting, but moving ahead "No more tears, no more pain, no more cry."

Arkadia is probably their most full on speed metal Dragonforce style song apart from Road of Resistance, and it might actually be even more frantic than that. It is the finale of the Metal Galaxy album, and it's fitting that the album ends with a song about boldly going forward into the future despite the hardships that have been endured, since that was very much the experience Babymetal went through during the tumultuous period when Yui retired and Mikio passed away. They persevered when it might have been understandable to quit, and now they are in a position where they are as strong as they have ever been.

Great reaction and good job completing the Trilogy of Lights. Thanks!
"Arkadia" is in my absolute top 3 and it would be my favorite song if two of their big hits never existed and I wasn't so biassed. Because this is exactly what I love in music: power/speed metal with very fast tempo, beautiful guitar melodies, crazy drumming, bright lyrics... and Su-metal's vocals, of course! I only dream to experience it live because this is a rarity since it has been performed live only 10 times.
Yes, they use a click track on their IEM (both the band and the ladies). Sometimes the wireless connection fails and Su told that she follows the drum beat, which is good for her because she doesn't count for the choreography (and apparently, this is crazy according to their choregrapher). 😁
    Until next time!

@@BeccaVinesz I had it in the past. And It was Edguy / Avantasia. Not the same level of focus as BABYMETAL, tho. I also like other bands like Rhapsody (of fire) / Luca Turilli, Gamma Ray, Manowar...
At some point I switched to thrash metal (well, I went back actually) and I still consider Kreator as my second favorite band.

@@road-runner Hmm... Sounds very interesting, I honestly never heard of any of those, really, I'll definitely check them. Have you heard of the band GALNERYUS? They are very focused on POWER METAL and classic stuff but they do quite a good amount of varied things even tho being focused, honestly the only band that made me feel things as BABYMETAL but with classic POWER METAL mostly. They are my only 2 favorite bands.

      Thanks for the recommendation! 😊

@@road-runner Sure, whenever you listen to them I hope you'll have a fun time buddy 😁 🦊👍
Just to give you some info if you mind, the band has two singers, one called Masatoshi Ono or just “SHO”, a living legend of a vocalist considered the best of Japan at the very least born with very strong & unbelievably unique high voice, (SU‐METAL & SHO are my favorite singers, I consider him the male version of SU 😆) the other is called YAMA‐B and it's also an extremely excellent singer aimed at low‐mid range vocals but he left the band then SHO became the new vocalist in 2009.
I Love Unlucky Morpheus btw, also maybe it's just a crazy coincidence, but Fumiya the drummer also made part of GALNERYUS for a certain time period playing with them when their main drummer had to unfortunately left the band for physical wear and tear on his feet. Leda Cygnus also made part of the original formation of GALNERYUS as their bassist lol, which makes me think of a crazy collab btw BABYMETAL & GALNERYUS. GALNERYUS is best served live, MVs are amazing, but they are not even the complete song.
Some songs I would suggest from GALNERYUS as first impression would be HUNTING FOR YOUR DREAM, DESTINY, ANGEL OF SALVATION, TEAR OFF YOUR CHAIN, RAIN OF TEARS, BRUTAL SPIRAL OF EMOTIONS, NO MORE TEARS, WINNING THE HONOR, THE FORCE OF COURAGE, RAISE MY SWORD, THE DAY OF RETRIBUTION, ALSATIA, STAND UP FOR THE RIGHT, ACROSS THE RAINBOW & STRUGGLE FOR THE FREEDOM FLAG. They have an insanely big discography so I'll stop here until I list all their songs lol, always look for the lives.
I heard of Lovebites & I'll definitely check them as well. A lot of great bands to check, lol.

Thank you guys for the reactions to this wonderful trilogy! Watching all 3 performances back to back definitely gives you a somber yet powerful and uplifting feel.
To answer some of your questions:
1). The center path is a track for the square "indent" stage that Babymetal dances on. It moves up and down, and forward and back on this track. Respect to Babymetal to emphasize crowd interaction over maximum seating for a more engaging experience at large arena shows.
2). Their IEMs definitely have counts and click tracks, although the majority of their timing in choreography seems to fall on practice and other cues. Here is a recording of Su-metal's raw IEM for Starlight during a 2019 Vegas performance:
    czcams.com/video/Zk0s1C5Ybfo/video.htmlsi=ZzEBcgDYLdOGHKlp
    Other suggestions:
1). Amore (The SSE Arena, Wembley, 2016): Su solo, epic "operatic speed metal", with a few nice mini-solos in the mix. This specific performance is not super CZcams-safe, so you'll most definitely need to do your video alterations, but it's the best performance of this song in my opinion. You can also opt to do compilations of course.
2). Ijime, Dame, Zettai (Sonisphere UK, 2014): Awesome anti-bullying power metal song. This performance was Babymetal's very first major international appearance, where they won over the majority of the 55K confused UK metal heads who never heard of them. It was an iconic moment for Babymetal, as it legitimized them on the world stage.
3). Catch Me If You Can (Budokan 2014): The most brutally adorable song about hide and seek, with an epic band flex in.
4). For funsies: Babymetal's support tour for Red Hot Chili Peppers 2016 - Judas Priest's Painkiller & Breaking the Law cover (abridged) with Chad Smith on the drums, and a wholesome surprise for Su at the end. Also, no planned choreography, so we get to see Su on stage being her dorky self and having a blast 🤣🔥

    Look forward to more Babymetal!

To answer the question about the big hollow walkway... the diamond shaped section the girls perform on is a moving platform. During some songs it moves out into the audience and can also raise and lower. They did quite a few big shows with these mobile stages in this era, including legend S and LA forum

Great stuff finishing the trilogy of lights so quickly and no worries about the altered video format, much better than using a compilation or chopping up the video!
Now that you’ve seen all three songs, what’s your favorite and why is it “Shine”? xd 😂
Btw funny that you mentioned Dragonforce, they actually smuggled Babymetal to their stage at Download 2015 and played “Gimme Chocolate” together. They also performed “Road of Resistance” together at the Metal Hammer Awards show in 2015. There are videos of both performances available on YT if you wanna check those out.
As for who are they following, it is mostly click tracks to get the timing and cues right but they surely also observe their surroundings to keep the timing up. Also, they spend an insane amount of time and effort into rehearsals to make everything perfect. As for the band, I don’t know exactly, since musicians usually follow the drums or base, but that doesn’t seem to be the case with the Kami band, so who knows how they manage it so perfectly.
Btw the giant space in the middle was for the middle main stage to be moved into the crowd. You can see that during “Headbanger” from that show (which is defo worth checking out!). See you! 🤘🦊🔥

Power Metal/Speed Metal can sometimes be a little bombastic and cheesy.
BABYMETAL have a way of elevating the genres they pull from.
Their sincerity is a lot of it, and there are few singers that exemplify that quality more than Su.
They have used 'Arkadia' both as an opening song and as a closer.
Although the studio musicians on BABYMETAL tracks are usually uncredited, Kami Band member Leda Cygnus played guitars and bass on the 'Arkadia' studio track.

They absolutely sync to an IEM click at some points to keep everything synced, it's the only way a production can work that uses backing tracks plus live instruments like they do.
Here's an example from Rondo of Nightmare where there's a count-off for when the time signature goes wild (if you're already reacted to it): czcams.com/video/nDao9r5knqc/video.html

I've done drum covers of many BabyMetal songs... I am currently working on Arkadia..even though Arkadia is only at 200 BPM is is much harder to play than Road of Resistance which is at 205 BPM. The drum part is much more intricate on Arkadia.

The way Babymetal do it, they train full setlists, and before a tour do extra cardio training.
Some what recently in an interview they said they practice a dance until it becomes automatic. And then train more so they can direct the automatic. If that makes sense. In some sense it's similar to learning an instrument/song so much you can play without looking at the instrument.
And they train together so they will get in sync. Moametal in recent times used to train 3 times as much, because when they had the 3 Avengers she would need to train with each of them so they could sync-up together.

Nice reaction. Remember this is right after Shine which ended with a quite walk off. Then we get this explosion. And it doesn't stop until the song ends. Great show. After reading the lyrics for this song many thought it should have been used for the Olympics in Japan. Missed opportunity by Japan IMO. They have at times used a click track during their shows. But I don't know what they used during this performance. Did it have a click track or just in ear playback, so they hear themselves better or both? Only their sound guys know in this case.

That's true, I reckon Chris and Sam would be blown away by that. Kind of an information overload, but it answers a lot of questions they ask, or addresses, and/or corrects some comments they have.
Cryptic Misery's guide to Babymetal may be a little outdated as it concluded when Babymetal went into their Covid induced hiatus. Since then, Babymetal has had a monster year after the ending to Japan's Covid travel restrictions.
Babymetal has released their fourth studio album: 'The Other One' and has supported the album with (I think) 94 live performances across more than 20 countries since the end of January 'til their last concert this year. So, there will be a bit of a time gap.
However, if the boys want to learn more about the beginnings and development of Babymetal, this would be a great video for them.
