what makes it even worse is if T'ana's Physical memories apply to Billups now that means he technically lost his virginity and now must ascend to the throne.
It has to be odd for him because Billups is basically asexual, while T'Ana is hypersexual. That's why he looked like he was blue screening when Shax asked.
Star trek Voyagers time line is from 2371 to 2378. Where as Lower decks starts in 2380. I don't know if people in 1980 referred to 1970 as 'in the 70's' But since Voyagers logs of her voyage was pretty much an information dumb when they got within range, it wouldn't surprised me if a lot of people would just be like, 'what year did they do this? Well it's from voyager so somewhere in the 70's...' But ya... I am just a guy on the internet XD
@@christopherlimb9027not to mention mariner did make a joke about the spear wielding natives holding her hostage as being something out of the '60s. 😊
The dead faced stare, oh no Shax... Pray to the Sisko that there is a safe solution to all of this.. Actually why not just ask, ol' Sisko for some help on this? Must be getting bored playing celestial baseball.
Just duplicate Tillups in the teleporter with two confinement beams like Will and Thomas Riker, use the separation procedure developed by The Doctor and Ensin Kim on one of the two resulting patterns! You can get back your two original people and keep your Tuvix/Tillups after!
But you’re still going to wind up “killing” one of the Tuvixes. Just like when Thomas/Will split, they were 2 individuals. Your solution is great for the “copy” who gets to live! But the one who gets split into separate personalities will still get destroyed.
@@courtney-ray That copy won't know it happened if the split occurs before they rematerialize. Remember, people are dying and getting rebuilt by the transporter all the time.
If Tillips hadn't panicked they could have transport cloned him like Boimler and apply the cure to just one of them, possibly in the matter stream itself so there's no continuity of consciousness issues
I do enjoy the way they go about this episode. It definitely makes fun of Voyager and Janeway’s decision, but it approaches the issue that looks at the ethics from distinct viewpoints. Spoiler, the problem was made worse until the idea of it being a problem was ludicrous.
Tuvix, unfortunately, did not have a well-written ending. Janeway was subsequently worse than her predecessors. That's how much arrogance I expect from the Romulans. Anyway, it started very well. And Lower Decks is a great series. 🖖
Y'know, there was a very simple solution to all this: Transporter clones. It's how we got Thomas Riker and William Boimler. Just replicate the circumstances that created them and send T'illups through. The one that's being beamed up will be split apart into Billups and T'ana, and the one left behind will remain as T'illups.
There's a reason why I avoid that episode of Voyager like the PLAGUE. Nelix is cringe enough. I don't want to see the heartbreak that I know went on either. So glad the Lower decks threw that out the window or I would have been so mad at them. T'ana's my favorite! But spoiler alert, the instant Tillups tried to take over the ship I knew there was no way he was gonna stay. They were going to settle the moral and ethical dilemma the easy way. Defending the ship > protecting a "totally unique sentient being"! Pretty much no choice.
Shax, “How many…. physical memories do you have?”
Tillups gives a poignant yet horrified look.

Awkward
Actually, since Tillups is a unique individual the rules dont apply to him.

"Well I'm sure Janeway had a solution to this."
Everybody who knows 'the solution": >.>;
I think they address this by saying “Janeway just murdered the guy, he died begging to be spared!”
Yeah both Freeman and Shax are appropriately shocked by the whole thing.
Janeway: 🗿
"Yeaaaaaah that one ended up being an entire thing, later on."
Janeway didnt mess around
The best part is, Shaxs is the normal one in their relationship 😂
Phat (_!_)
And it’s either really funny or very concerning.
"I love being alive" is a brilliant line.
Janeway: “Haha, anyway… Get back in the transporter.”
Yeeeaaa about that.....
Back in the 70’s 😂
There has to be a disco joke in there somewhere.
They did a lot of experimenting with plant based stuff in the 70s.

@@christopherlimb9027As someone who lived thru the 80s, yes we referred to the previous decades as "the 70s".
I don't care how cool Tillups is, everyone's favorite grumpy cat is on the line here!
Well, so much for Garfield😞
"I'm sure we can find a Solution without any Moral and Ethical Issues"
Wait does this mean Billups technically lost his virginity and thus must ascend to the throne.
Oh my god
Yes
Don't tell his mom
Don't worry... They just defussed soo it doesn't count
I’m pretty sure this is basically a new guy so doesn’t count

I thought Janeway rejected that option, and then destroyed all of the research, and expunged all of that data. 🤔

Such a fantastic show! So glad we are on our way into season 4.. they did great with this episode.. Lower Decks! Lower Decks!
Memories???? OH MY GOD!! Code blue code blue code blue!!!
That look on Tillup's eyes! He must have a lot of physical memories.
Justice for Jane way she did her best
As a fan of ST Voyager, i
This kinda hits me with fanboy shock
Not so happy to be a live after the "physical memories". Billups part probably envies the dead.
Renew lower decks. It is the best show on your network
This is so weird and funny. 😂
Janeway did not #$!? around! 😂
We love Star Trek! Give us more!
Ohh that close up at the end
In the seventies... 😂
If the blog creature shared all their memories, does that mean the captain knows everything Mariner and Jennifer did together?
Blob creature wasn't sentient. It was just a blob.
Tillups sounds like a pet name
She just straight up murdered him!
The best part is everyone blurting the same thing out every time they read her report.
There is the right way and the wrong way and then there is the Janeway
Wait back in the 70s 😂😂😂
All of a sudden it looks like they don’t seem to want to be alive anymore.
That’s the only ethical solution. Make the entity regret existing and happy to separate.
Back in the 70s lol

Janeway protocol should be if there's a transport accident, freeze them in the pattern buffer.... Learned nothing from Twovix.
Very Interesting
Janeway's "solution" was about as murderous as usual.
Janeway did not fr*ck around.
@@GSBarlev - Even Kate Mulgrew thought that Janeway was bipolar.

Is that nolan north.
Janeway did nothing wrong.
Tuvix killed Tuvok, he had it coming.
Given her logic of saving 2 lives over 1. They should have just used the transporter to make all 3.
No she murdered him and thus she did everything, like ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING WRONG!!!
That's something Shoulder Spider would say.
You have to be morally bankrupt to believe that.
is it just me or does westlake sound like professor oak?
Just where does the leopard pattern originate from in the mix ? The "other" also have one but I don't see where it could came from ....
The flower
oh Janeway totally murdered Tuvix
Had neither organisms had no separate histories, being tuvixed wouls be welcomed and open for futher study.

This ain't gonna end well..
So would Mr. Tillups be considered eligible royalty? Given he has the memories, and half of the physicality, of shacking up with Shax?

I hope they separate soon
