Fed 2 is a great camera, and the industar got some properties better than the old elmar. Is not shaper, but have better contrast.
Some photos leave to see a shutter problem. I think the fastest speeds need more tension. It's so easy to adjust.
    Thanks for the video!

I have one of these and have discovered that if the film is not advanced all the way when you fire the shutter (if you "short stroke" the film advance), that excess will get added to the next film advance. Even if you only wind it 1% and hit the shutter (the shutter wont actually open), it requires the film to be advanced the remaining 99%, and then another 100% before the shutter is fully cocked again. Say for instance, you take a picture and continue walking. During that walk the film advance knob moves less than a millimeter (I've tested it), and you go to take another shot. You bring the camera up and hit the shutter- nothing happens because you forgot to advance the film. By hitting the shutter, the pin to cock the shutter moves to the wrong position and needs to go all the way around to it's starting position before it can begin cocking the shutter, resulting in the film skipping a shot. Soviet idiosyncrasies, what're you gonna do. Best way to prevent this is to just check the film advance knob before taking a picture to make sure it is wound all the way.
At least that's one explanation as to what could be happening to your camera.

Thanks for sharing your experiences on the Fed 2A. Isn't it great photographing with a quirky old mechanical camera.

I had a similar issue with my Zorki with the tightness when advancing the film. I too lost a few photos but considering the actual cost of the camera as well as age, I can live with it. I recently purchased a Fed 2 online. I am testing it now but have noticed that the viewfinder seems to be off horizontally. I have used another Fed 2 and noticed something similar. It is easy to live with, but worth mentioning.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. Can be a bit of a challenge, understanding, and frustrating when purchasing old cameras. And yet, the mechanics of operating and rewards of the photographs is so fulfilling.

Hey, Chuck! I just bought myself a FED 2 on Etsy and found your video here while I scoured CZcams for a good video of someone actually shooting the camera. Anyway, I just started my photography journey about a month ago, but I’m also located in Prescott Valley. If you’d ever like to sit down and talk shop I’d love to meet up and maybe go on a photo walk with you. Have a good one. Be safe out there.

Congratulation, I know you'll enjoy photographing with it. You bet, we can work something out about getting together. I would also suggest coming out to the www.yavapaiphotoclub.com/ that I'm a member of. Great bunch of guys and gals that are great photographers.

Love how the photo's turned out. In particular the VW photograph but all were great looking like they were made in the 60s / 70s. I can not believe you have not got a lot more subscribers. Please do keep up the great work. Thanks and best wishes from Ireland

Appreciate it, thank you. The VW photograph in this batch was my favorite. Heard it coming up the road and just waited. I do plan to do my best working with my presentations, so stay tuned from Arizona.
