Hi. thx for the great video. Have you kept your cpu oc'd all the time? and is everything working fine until now? do you have any tips? what cooler and what power supply do you use? i have got 965BE like you and i would wanna no if it is really stable to keep it at your settings.

this would of been a ok video had you talked us thru it while showing so we know what what does n why and all that.
How your cpu reacts depends on your rig, not your bios. If you have very good cooling (NO STOCK COOLERS) and plenty of air flow, you should have no problem overclocking your cpu. But if you are overclocking make sure you have the latest bios., I have an Asus Motherboard with the UEFI bios and I overclock everything just fine

@gokill96 Just google orthos or if you're on 64 bit google cpu stability test programs. Then when you find one youtube a video on how to use it. Only run it for about 20 or 30 minutes. Unless you want 100% 24/7 stability then run it for about 12 hours at least.
3.8 GHz without any problems here. CPU voltage 1.275 V. CPU NB 2400 Mhz on 1.175 V. FSB 200 (untouched) Aftermarket air cooler Tranquillo. Everything rock stable. Will try 4.0 Ghz today.

What program did you use to check your cpu speed?
I got BSOD when just putting clock ratio to x18 and still keeping voltage to normal and right now I'm perfectly running 3.6GHz although I wanted to clock it to 3.8GHz
How do you know how much volts or power to add when over clocking it?

Don't let your Phenom get above 60c. Mine runs at 54c when running a Prime95 torture test. 44-49c under heavy gaming load.

@sixthification my guess is that hes using stock, or else he would go higher... 3.7ghz , 3.8ghz thats about as high as you can go on stock without temp problems. (for me at least)
why did you only increase the voltage on the memory vlt. and not the CPU vCore?

set my bios to 220 x 17.5, and voltage to 1.175, and stopped to check on laptop to make sure that would be stable. mfw that is exactly what this guy does.

3.9ghz), then ran stability test, on 100% load my cpu temp reaches
65-68c, is the temperetaure good/bad? Should i leave it like that or

Yep same as the other guy, if i pass 60c it BSODs, you won't be totally stable. I can only get 3.6 GHz @ 1.35 V. Any more and it's too hot and crashes no matter what.

I'm running at 3.9 Ghz with an 18.5 multiplier and 211 Mhz frequency at stock voltage. It is very possible.
it is stable 100% but on stock cooler, it can go to 4.2+ with beter cooling...
got this chip its great coul not get 6 core only 5 and then it was good but i could see some weird things in browser and whatnot so turned back to 4 and overclock any get it to clock high i also have aus mobo

why must you up the ddr3 voltage? is that the cpu voltage? hmm
i have 960t i overclocked it with my previouse board on 4ghz with only 1.332v stable for 24h use but now i cant because board is shit i tryed 4.1 but it freezes the stock voltage is 1.272
some reason my AMD Phenom II x4 965 Black EDition is only running at 1.8Ghz, when it's meant to be 3.4 O_O

For some reason my bios is a lot different than yours...I guess because I have an Asus mobo but I cannot do this because the difference is so significant that it will blow my cpu...
also where can i get that easy tune 6 program?? I looked it up but can only fine easy tune 3. does the ET6 work for both intel n amd or only amd? However in a few days Ill be getting in the mail a new mobo that is coming wit a AMD Phenom II X4 BLACK EDITION already installed. Tested and disapproved. It's not stable at all (Hyper Pi 32 has crash 1 core at 6'03'', 3DWork 11 crashed too, and Alice madness return freeze 150ms on some frame and finally crash after 30 minutes).
This video is useless without a Prime95 test result. How do we know if your 3.8 was stable?

This processor is supported on AM2+ motherboards although it is indeed AM3. So only if you have an AM2/AM2+ motherboard you should be able to run it(I have to stress that AM2+ needs to be specified on your motherboard; if on your motherboard only says AM2 CPU supported, then it will not work). I have it installed(recently upgraded myself from Athlon 64 x2 6000+ and nVidia GeForce 9600GT) on ASUS M3N78 motherboard and it works flawlessly. I coupled it with a AMD Radeon 6850 and I can run all the games at Medium-High graphics settings and 1920*1080 resolution!

Yeah I seriously said "You fucking idiot." when he set the frequency to 220 on a 17.5 ratio. I tried similar things and got bluescreens so idk he how he did it..

That wasn't CPU's VCORE. He put more voltage for RAM modules, cuz he overclocking by FSB bus
