I doubt he has connection the Fatui, much rather to the dark history of Teyvat with the dragons
He is the Hydro Dragon Sovereign. Not a Vishap, but one of the seven kings of the world and all dragons. Apep is/was the Dendro Sovereign. So consider how massive she is, that she has a whole world inside of her from which all life was born. Neuvillette must have also been extremely impressive.

While Zhongli is a dragon, his origin is adeptus. Adepti are meant to have multiple forms and change if desired. If Neuvillette is the reborn Hydro dragon like we're lead believe, his origins would be that of the seven sovereigns. I would not be surprised if Zhongli's form came across completely human compared to Neuvilette who might have dragon aspects integrated into a human one.
Zhongli is a god, which are very separate from Sovereigns and were originally enemies. Zhongli then became an Archon, which is DEFINITELY enemies with the Sovereigns. But yes, unless Zhongli is himself a reincarnation, he's not the Geo Dragon Sovereign.
Wasnt the sealed Chi the geo dragon? I did the quest so long ago I dont remember much about it
Zhongli isn't a dragon or adeptus. He's introduced as an Archon with hidden symbolism of Sun in his trailer and character story.
Morax is 6000 y'o god who has seen entirety of Teyvat. During Chapter 1 Act 2: Farewell, The Archaic Lord, what we've seen is his Exuvia Form. Man named Zhongli is his human form.
An Adeptus (or illuminated beasts) are ascended being erected by Rex Lapis as Prime Adepti.
@@NeIIythere has been no prove that Chi is Geo Dragon Sovereign. Azdhaha currently is the suspected (it hasn't been confirmed aswell) Geo Sovereign, because every Sovereign evolved from Vishaps, original creature of the Old World.
I believe Chi is just a huge beast, similar to Orobashi/Watatsumi Omikami.
I feel like there's an official art out there with Zhongli's ears showing but even without it, he's prime adeptus, and we've seen the adepti are able to change form (Lantern Rite, Moonchase, Zhongli alludes to it being possible, etc.). There are a lot of theories about Zhongli specifically that make it hard to keep track of but if nothing else I don't think he's a sovereign dragon, though he's clearly still a dragon in some way.
We know how Nahida was born, but we don't know much about her "species" when it comes to why she/Rukkhadevata have long elf ears like Klee. We know Klee and Alice are some type of long life species. Layla has different ears from them, though they're still pointed. She has never been alluded to as being anything other than human, but that could just be them withholding info as usual lol

I'm really not buying Neuvillette being the Hydro Dragon reborn. In the first place, the Hydro Dragon never died; he simply entered dormancy. And considering that you get to talk to the Hydro Dragon's consciousness in a side quest, and that Neuvillette is already somewhere else in Fontaine, that would imply that the Hydro Dragon can be in two places at once somehow, which is unlikely.
And I had Genshin active on my end, so I checked Zhongli's ears for myself. They're rounded. They aren't pointed, like Neuvillette's. As for his eyes having a diamond-shaped iris, the Melusines ALL have that feature, not just Neuvillette. The implication, between this and the outrage given towards the Melusine by someone in one of the trailers, is that Neuvillette is a Melusine, one that was born in a more human-esque form, for one reason or another. Bear in mind that all Melusine are born of the Hydro Dragon, so if you want to use Neuvillette's iris shape to connect him to the Hydro Dragon, know that also applies to the Melusine as well.
In our mythology, the Melusine have always been fairies who could turn into dragons, or had connections with them, and though they are usually female, there is one particular story where a Melusine is turned into a male as part of a punishment. So Neuvillette being a Melusine is not a stretch, especially with pointy ears being a known trait of fairyfolk in myth and media.
I think you're a little mistaken. The dragon you're referring to from the world quest doesn't seem to be the Hydro Sovereign and, in my understanding, is far more likely to be related to Rhinedottir (like Durin etc) than the Sovereigns.
I also think it's a little odd to say that ALL Melusines have diamond shaped as the one in this very trailer does not have them.
@@anaplaysstuff It looked like the Melusine in the trailer had diamond irises, but I guess I was wrong.
But it still seems strange that Neuvillette is the Hydro Dragon, considering there's an implication that he's tied to the Melusine in some way. If he is a seperate and unrelated entity, why would any animosity that is directed at the Melusine involve him in any way as well? This is especially true, considering the dragon that birthed the Melusine, by your own admission, might've been created by Rhinedottir.
@@Dragonpit My understanding is the Neuvillette found them and basically brought them into society in Fontaine....that's why they're connected in the eyes of the people. Plus so many of them work for him and he put a law on the books regarding how to refer to them (she/her instead of it/its) so it's not like it's really that weird. Plus the way the woman says "and that goes for Neuvillette too!" kind of makes him an "also this guy even though he's not one of the Melusines so I have to refer to him directly" type reference, imho.
