MY FAVORITE G SHOCK WATCH IS ON SALE TODAY FOR HALF PRICE... ONLY $38..... THIS WONT LAST LONG... goo.gl/rW77dM
Wranglerstar unsubscribing....this channel is just a huge commercial now. Sorry man...used to be pure. Looks like the corpo world has wrapped you round their finger.
Hey just wanna say thank you for all the work you have put into your channel. I just recently found it and I am amazed how much great content you have created. The character and the values of the man really shine through.
1 quick question....if you're not a saturation diver, why spend the money on that watch?
Didn't you say in one of your older videos that the omega was a fake?
I would never take a nice watch out in the field. I would recommend a cheap casio Forester for guys that go out in the forest.
I am an older guy that got turned on to Seiko's when I was in the U.S. Army overseas in the 1960s. The base exchanges had all types and makes of watches. Even on Army pay, I could afford a nice Hamilton or Omega. However, when I saw my first Seiko Automatic, I was hooked. The quality and materials were excellent, especially for the reasonable price. It is still the same today, over 50 years later. With a Seiko, you get a lot of BANG for the BUCK!
StellarBlue1 would you be so kind as to say the model of your watch please?
My uncle was in NAM and when he told me what he was getting paid as an E5 and I see stories of people saying they were buying Rolex explorers and I think DAAAAAAMN how inexpensive were they back then haha
@@mgmmaze What you don't get is that on occasion the PX system back then would get luxury items watches jewelry clothes shoes from deals that the US government made with the manufacture . Then they'd sell it to the troops tax free at very close to cost . I got out 20 years ago and don't go to the PX anymore because the closest one is about 45 miles down the road .
@@bfairfax8772 I got out almost 10 years ago but didn't retire so I don't get px privilege. That said I know they can order damn near anything would be interesting to see what stuff you could get esp tax free
Totally agree, they’re just as well built as the Swiss makes, for so much les wonga.
Hi Cody. A diver's bezel is in fact used only keep track of bottom time. Reference a dive chart prior to going down and based upon the depth of your dive, you may have 15-40 minutes of bottom time to avoid decompression stops and especially nitrogen narcosis or even worse, the 'bends', which is when you can develop evolved gases (small bubbles) in your tissues and joints.
You should buy an old pickup and restore it with Jack so when he gets older he has a cool truck + it would make some great videos.
Love from Portugal ❤
I spent 50$ on a g-shock. It survived a claymore explosion when it fell off during a training exercise in the Army. Its been drowned in mud, and I would swim in lakes with it. Still works. Still wear it. Keeps great time. I think about that every time a youtuber claims a quality watch is always over a 100 bucks.
Glad *you* survived that Claymore! 8^O
@@MichaelWerneburg No! No! XD my bad. I was setting the charge during training and the watch band came undone. It fell next to the claymore in the sand and I didn't see it drop. I found it after we detonated it from a distance
I love how you are not a watch snob, loving them from a common guy perspective. Nice.
So true!
It's hilarious watching (heh) CZcamsrs acting as if their expensive watches gives them a personality.
I’ve been a subscriber to the channel for several years and as each new year rolls around I still find myself watching your channel and anticipating updates on the various projects you have underway on the homestead. You and your family have done so much to your home, your property, and your forest since you’ve homesteaded there. As a subscriber I appreciate all that you’re doing there and I thank you for sharing so much with all of us through your channel. I’ve learned so much from you and I want to thank you and your family. Keep up the great work! I’m sure there are many Canadians like me who value so much what you do and what you share through the channel. All the best to you!
Thank you Paul,
My father got me a Seiko for the holidays and it's super cool. Clean, sleek, and comfy.
Recently bought a seiko military style automatic watch for work. Love the quality/ durability and am proud to own one. The craftsmanship on your seiko is superb, great choice!
Cody, this was an excellent review and history of your watches. I’m glad you found your grail watch. It’s hard to beat a Seiko! One little thing I’d like to mention, the use of the bezel on a dive watch. I also thought it was supposed to be used as you described, until recently when I found a video done by a diver which clarified it for me. The correct way to use it, and this makes sense, is to decide how much time you’re going to dive, subtract that number from 60, and set that number at the minute hand. This way the minute hand counts down until it gets to the marker on the bezel. Most dive watches don’t have lump on the bezel, except for on the marker. So you know you’re out of time when the minute hand gets to the illuminated marker.
Thanks again for an excellent video with a lot of great information and for being transparent that this is just your preference! 👍
Got a Seiko SKX007 for Christmas. Love it. Glad you like yours as well! Enjoy
Great choice,
watch review begins at 17:15.
Just found your channel thru "The Time Teller"! I guide, ECO, in Alaskan National Parks and am a retired pro diver. Love The Seiko Tuna! Can't believe over a half hour just sailed-by and completely held my interest. You are one interesting, down-to-earth and cool dude! Thanks from New Subscriber!
"It's kinda like wearing a transformer on your arm" Im dying😂😂😂
I have a seiko 5 sport. It is an automatic, 24 jewel, 100 meter. I have been very happy with it. I have had it for a year and so far it keeps very good time.
I guess I’d forgotten about watch styles when I developed tendinitis in both arms from the wrist up and now I can’t wear anything on my wrist or arms. I still enjoyed listening to your history of watches. Are used to love different colored watches to match my other jewelry but now I only wear a wedding ring. But for about 5 years I couldn’t even where my wedding ring... I took things for granted but not anymore! 🙏 Kudos to Mrs W for getting you this special gift 💝
My watch is my dad’s seiko USA sq 100. From the 80’s when he went through boot camp
Another very durable Japanese watch is the brand Citizen, especially their Eco-Drive models. They're light powered, so you never have to replace the battery, and they come in titanium.
Nicholas Ricardo: Yes....I have the Citizen E82 Eco Drive.
I had the titanium skyhawk. Wore it every day. Still work great but needs some TLC. I'd have another in a minute but I don't like the look of the newer style so much and I managed to get a bargain because I managed to place an order on the online store before it was properly set up and the prices were not correct.
Eventually even Eco-Drive's will need to have the battery (capacitor) replaced. Nothing lasts forever.
I began my love of timepieces when my Mom bought me as my High School Graduation present my first nice watch in 1980. A Seiko (pre Arnold) Sports 100 Analog/Degi dive watch that is still running fine today.
That was my first watch EVER (Casio G-Shock) in grade 9 I got one for my birthday!! I had the stainless steel, and I STILL have it in my watch box!
All my watches I own are Seikos. I just recently bought a second hand 007 and it has been the best daily watch I have ever owned. Superb build and quality for the price!
I've always had Seiko watches! My two sons are still wear two of my older watches! Won't change!
I’m looking to buy watches I will pass on to my kids
Nice! I've started wearing a watch again. I can't have a cell phone at work for security reasons and most workers wear watches. For the last year my watch of choice is a Seiko Solar, love it! Never have to wind it, never have to replace a battery, keeps perfect time and tough! Look into them, will run for something like 6 months off of 2 hours of direct sunlight. My Dad is a big fan of those automatics, I got him a Seiko 5 automatic for Christmas.
This was a well thought out produce video👍👍 I too love Seikos watches they are my favorites I own several models I love their simplicity and toughness.
Thank you.
Have you considered sending in the Omega for a service? They can fix the issues you mentioned.
I've got an old Omega, Dad's from the 60's. Had it in for service 2 or 3 times and near broke me. They stopped making parts for it, never kept time well... I did love it though. I've gone back to Seiko. Bought this one well over 10 years ago, perpetual motion, never drops a second, doesn't need a battery and never have to change the date on short months or leap years.
I have 3 Seiko autos and a casio "tough solar". They are all great watches.
Awe yeah! This reminds me of when I was little and would "explore" my dad's watch collection. Very cool!!!
Love my Seiko “Pepsi” dive watch. I’ve been wearing it in lieu of my G-Shock Rangeman and I want to see how well it fairs on a deployment. Seiko is my new favorite so far.
Seiko is definitely my favorite watch brand. the skx007 is more my style. nice watch you have there and glad you enjoy it.
I have a Citizen solar dive style watch that pre-dates their eco-drive. No maintenance and still keeps perfect time 20+ yrs later.
Check out BluShark nato bands. Great quality compared to some cheaper ones on Amazon. Lifetime warranty as well.
glefos I have citizen marinaut. It also has eco-drive and it works great.
The best watch i ever had was a Seiko and looking at your program I'm going to go back to Seiko s brand.!!..Thank you for reminding me of the good thing I never appreciated enough..!!!!
My favorite is my Casio Forester. It's been through many miles of muddy wet caves, rivers, lakes, mud puddles, everything. Still keeps on working.
Citizen has a pretty nice lineup of EcoDrive watches including some really nice divers.
I don’t get the fascination with solar watches as they have a battery that needs to be replaced in 10 years and need to be put in light every so often.
Yeah every 6 months, every 11 months, and in some cases every 2.5 years (depending on the model) is when u have to expose them to a light, any light, not too hard to do?
God NO
WOW! Let me say it backwards - !WOW. Anbody that could watch all of that is a real fan. I think any guy can pick out a watch and live with the decision. Cody I would like to see more videos of you being a father and teaching your son how to do things. You are well aware of the "Fatherless Generation" we live in. Those are the things that can help people for generation. Envy is a sin but I wish I had a father who was more like you.
My hubby HAS to have a watch, n his profession. He has worn a G Shock for almost 15 years now! Never a problem, accurate and alarms work flawlessly.
I really appreciate the approach you take to watches. Been a subscriber since 2013, and this channel has broaden my interests, to include watches! Every video I watch (no pun intended) on watches doesn't take the working man's approach. This channel does a very fine job representing the working man! Prayers for you and your family.
When I was 11 or so I really wanted a good watch. My parents were worried I would lose it lol. After finally persuading them, I got the Casio wr100m twin sensor. Now I'm 17, and I still wear it. The thing has been more than abused, wearing it has a kid running through the bush, hiking and camping, etc. It still going strong, although the crystal is very scratched and beat up.
Nunya Biz I've thought about it, and will probably do it eventually. Thanks!
Will K A couple years ago I wanted a good watch that would last. I ended up buying a casio g shock gg1000 with all the money I had saved up from mowing yards. Im 15 now and it is holding up great after 2 summers of swimming, lifting weights every day, and the occaisonal camping trip and it still looks new except for a few scratches, but that just adds character.
I like me luminox but i have a few casio s aswell i all love them
Rub some tooth paste on it and it'll polish the glass and get rid of the scratches!
They sell this for about $8 on Amazon, its called PolyWatch. If you rub a few drops of it on the surface of the crystal it should look brand new
2 years now, it’s time for a refresh with the latest!
A good watch with a long history is always the best watch. I have had my (issued by AF) Seiko dive watch (analog) for almost 35 years. It has been treated rough having hundreds of freefall and regular jumpes, low and slow helicopter deployments (sometimes high and fast), dove deep and swam unknown miles. I don't wear it often now but it "keeps on ticking" (to steel a phrase). I swear by the solid strap and the watch has stayed with me with only one pin several times. When my watch goes to one of my grandsons I hope he keeps it ticking. Thanks for reminding me to tell them what the watch has been to me.
I chuckled at "warm and fuzzies". Thanks, with 4 young men in my family, a great watch is a must.
Seiko
Lycosa seikuhhhh
I literally could watch this man mold play dough for 30 minutes. What a true passion wranglerstar has for life.
sounds like a pretty interesting life you got there Chad. You moved on from watching paint dry? what are you a stoner?
Kundalini wants his hand back I tend to "stone" on a semi-daily basis. Got a problem with it?
Kundalini wants his hand back I smoke marijuana daily. So what I'm 26 years old and a commercial electrician. I work 45 hours a week and make a very good living. You're just perpetuating stereotypes . Marijuana does nothing but relax me at night same as others who drink beer every night except alcohol is far worse on your body. Educate yourself.
I finally found your watch videos!! Such fun. Just picked up my 5th Seiko Tuna, SBBN043. Great video, love it!!
The reason for the extra flap on the 4 ring natos is that when you pick up your watch from the short end of the strap the watch cannot slide off the strap. This is possible especially with heavy divers. So it's really a feature for safety while putting your watch on or picking it up. You can also hang it up on a nail by the buckle and the watch will be held fast.
I've got a Seiko Kinetic divers watch, known by collectors as the BFK.
It came with the stainless band, I don't like those rubber/silicone ones either. Wasn't expensive.
The kinetic watches are sort of a hybrid between auto and quartz. It has weights in it which charge a tiny battery, and the battery drives a quartz movement with a 6 month (no wearing) power reserve. Accuracy is typical Seiko Quartz.
Not for someone with a small wrist though.
Not to miss is the suunto brand, the dutch commandos use them. Must be a great watch.
Never disapointing. Even a watch review is fun. Love the memories!
That Seiko is sharping looking.
Gives me the "fizz" too.
You can get a polishing paste for the Hexalite crystal on the Omega. Fixes it right up.
Toothpaste and a good soft cloth :)
It's "hesalite". Actually even toothpaste works with these.
You said the red faced omega was a fake in your 2016 watch video.
Yeah, that's correct. What gives? Real or counterfeit?
Yes, it looks like a franken or a redial, not authentic.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching the video, Thank you Cody for making this one.
Exactly the same story here - Summer of '87, just graduated, Army basic training, first watch I bought for myself, the original G-Shock. Lasted through everything for several years, cracked the crystal. The second one lasted another couple years, but I somehow damaged the pin bosses when replacing the strap, and no pin would ever stay in after that. That watch head is probably STILL taped to the tool box at the manufacturing plant I worked at at the time.
I’ve worn nothing but Casio g shock watches as long as I’ve worn watches they are tough as nails and will take just about anything you throw at them. The watch I currently use is the g shock mudmaster gwg 1000 1a3 It’s honestly the best watch I’ve ever owned. I just have a hard time viewing a $2000 watch as a budget minded watch. I’m not knocking anyone at all but shiny watches just aren’t for me I’ve always thought they were too flashy for me.
Johnny Reb You want a medal?
dennis neo nope I was was just giving my take on the subject to each their own
Good segment! A decade ago I thought I was a high roller blowing $2,500 on an Omega Seamaster 007 version lol. Sold it recently and got all my money back. I rock a Casio Pathfinder ABC watch which is solar and bulletproof.
That was an excellent investment, being able to get all your money back after all that time. That's the beauty of a watch like that
The smallest g shock but the best one. I love this watch, my favorite g shock
I believe that with the 4 ring NATO bands, the two inner rings are designed to get attached to a custom kit (two end pieces that interface with the spring pin and the metal loop and the watch directly attaches to. It is designed to be more shock resistant and sits off of the band. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for aging yourself with this video! I thought you were around my age. I’m a locomotive engineer and railroad-approved watches are required still to this day and I use a old Seiko which is bulletproof.
To the "I use my phone as my watch" guys....So you use your smart phone as your watch....i.e. you use a pocket watch. My father's grandfather used a pocket watch too. Real cutting edge....for 1914.
theres nothing wrong with using your phone as a watch. wristwatches are just so inconvienent, they bump into everything.
Kai Biagi you’re delusional dude. They have a chance of bumping into things, but what if your phone dies and you need the time? It’s constantly on your wrist, and you can look at it anytime of the day. Say you’re at work and not allowed to have a phone out on the job, boom, the times on your wrist. Watches are not inconvenient at all.
In their defense, a phone's time is fundamentally more accurate than even the best quartz watch.
@@Colddirector nah since my quartz updates everyday that will prob change next year when the station shuts down

Beautiful collection!
I'd love to hear your thoughts on Zero Tolerance knives. More pocket knife reviews would be cool.
jarin wilson he was able to justify buying another Benchmade 940, So what it comes down to is how much money you have to spend on things you feel like you want.
But at those prices it’s definitely a want. It’s a great knife but hard for most people to justify the price.
But then I just bought a $150 chisel. Everyone has their own priorities.
I always wore a Timex iron-man back in the day
I wore those for 20 years. The weak link was the band, but I loved the watch.
yep but was worth the price.
@@bigospig ya I never kept the band either but one Ironman last me 12 years before it finally died so pretty good for like 60 bucks
I love his ‘show and tell’ type videos with little stories in there, great video 👍🏼
A few years ago, I looked into getting a good watch, and chose the Omega Seamaster. And I have not been disappointed. Though I did have to have it serviced after about a year ago, as some element of it became magnetized and it would not keep time. I sent it back to Omega, and it has worked fine for the past year or so, without needing winding and it keeps near perfect time. I reset it about once every 2 months.
And get it serviced every 2 years by the sound of it 😁
Hi I’m a new sub, was looking for a channel with info on axes , I have a head that needs a handle. I seen one of your vids on axes, I struck gold. I subbed and this vid came up. Awesome info on watches, great video. I’ll be checking out previous vids. Ya hoo! Thanks. Tony

All rolex's ive ever seen have had spin off case backs, infact ive never seen a front loading rolex
FreddyBTV yea that's total nonsense. Most dive watches load from the back.
My mistake you are correct, the Seiko 1000 Meter Tunas load from the front,
Thanks for the response, and no disrespect or nothing just mixed up your words a little bit, its actually cool that you take the time to correct your mistakes especially one that not many would notice, im looking forward to the dirtbike videos!! keep making great content
The Large Tunas do load from the front,

Perfect video to sharpen some knives. Really like these top down vids. Thanks Cody
I work in the EMS field as an EMT. ( Pre-med student ). I wear the Casio Men's F108WH, and bought it when I first started. Its $15 on amazon. I just recently replaced the one I had for 5 years.
The reason why I replaced it? Because the band loop stay broke, not even the band, the little rubber loop that holds the band from flopping around... and a replacement one was $8 + $4.49 shipping. So I just bought a new one.. and have the old one incase I ever need any parts from it.
Casio makes a great product. The best part is that if it breaks, its $15. If it gets blood, vomit, fecal matter, etc.. on it. I wipe it down with the hospital bleach wipes.
Anyway, great video!
The Brits say "oh-mee-gah", IIRC.
As with anything it depends what dialect we are talking about. I pronounce it like he did
Oh-meh-gar
I wear the f91-w had It since I turned 18 I'm getting ready to turn 19
I have an Omega 266 from 1954 for occasional dress use, weddings funerals birthdays etc.
My everyday toughest of all watches is my Vostok Amphibia.
Both have lucite/acrylic crystals which can be polished if scratched, unlike the hardlex on my Seiko which I scratched in the first week I had it and can't be fixed.
I have a casio gshock but one of the rugged edition ones from about 2008 and the battery is still going and it still works perfectly they are great watches for outdoor use. Great video by the way. :)
I have a 2 year old Seiko Monster with hacking. It's my favorite watch out of the 50 watches I have including Tag's, Movado's, etc. That said, I love your new Seiko.
Seiko Monster is a watch I have always had on my list. As a general rule I hate big heavy watches but I just love the look of the Seiko. I do wish they made a scaled down version. Currently a I wear a Uk army surplus CWC G10.
I HAVE A SEIKO orange monster SRP309J... tough looking , looks great and yet just nice in size. not too small or too huge.
My Monster is a second gen version with a black face. That said, I just ordered the Seiko SBBN033 with the rubber band. It's the same watch Wranglestrar reviewed. It's expensive, but it's well worth it.
Received it today. All I can say is WOW!! I love it!
Omega Planet Ocean - Accept no substitute. Guaranteed to give you "the fizz", Cody. (BTW - I believe the Brits pronounce it "Omeega", with a long "e".)
As always, thanks for sharing.
Steve
stuff you are correct on our pronunciation Steve..Omeega is how we say it in the UK 🇬🇧
They are overpriced IMHO and like most Swiss watches these days, they are made by Swatch (who also own ETA)
ck m: To suggest that an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean has anything in common with Swatch is laughable. The Co-Axial chronometer movement is an *in-house* movement and, by all accounts, is one of the very best, most robust automatic movements on the planet. Expensive? Yeah, I'll give you that. It's very expensive. But, to try and equate it to a Swatch watch is absurd.
Steve
www.swatchgroup.com/brands_and_companies - read it and weep - Swatch has owned Omega for decades and Omega movements are nothing more than modified (some more than others) ETA movements, which Swatch also owns. I personally don't think that there's anything wrong with that, but you can get other watches with ETA movements made by the Swatch group that are equally good and much cheaper, like Mido, Longines or Hamilton. Inside, they are all essentially the same, with ETA or ETA-based movements (yes, I've restored more than one...). There are a very, very small number of movement makers left, with ETA (owned by Swatch) being the biggest - but as of 2016, they have stopped selling to non-Swatch brands. And of all the major, well known watch makers, only Rolex makes all parts of their movement in house (also overpriced IMHO).
ck m: So, according to you, the Omega Co-Axial 9300 movement is nothing more than a "modified ETA movement". Really? Can you cite some evidence of this? Can you point me to any ETA movement that shares the same architecture, or another watch of any label that uses remotely the same movement? And finally, I challenge you to cite a single ETA movement that is "equally good" as the 9300 movement. School me.
Steve
My first watch was a Casio G-Shock mudmaster I love it to death even now
i love my seiko wear it every day for years now and it holds perfect time
You are heading into dangerous waters... I once collected watches and then guitars ... costly hobbies.
That Seiko looks the same if not bigger than newer g shocks... Looks bigger and heavier than every watch you have in this video...
Nick Hall seiko is 45mm, smallest gshock 51mm, what is larger??
@@bingrusginckle g shocks are measured from the widest point as far as I know.
my rangeman is measured from the protruding tripple sensor and it's corresponding button from what i can tell.
I don't believe the seiko is that way.
when it comes to comfort there are also other things to consider. One of these would be the weight. I can't be bothered to look up the tuna's weight but i'd wager it's more than most G's on account of it being primarily metal.
The Marathon is actually the biggest and heaviest watch in the video. If you look at the case thickness, and the height of the crystal and bezel, you will see that the Marathon is a very big watch.
I was always trying to spot your watch in previous videos .... thanks for the video!!
Of all the watching I've owned over the years G-Shocks have consistently been my favorite. I even own the same seiko model in the video but wear the G Shocks more.
Citizen ecodrives are cool: Quartz powered by the sun!
I love my nighthawk ecodrive
I'm very happy with my automatic Promaster!
But their batteries will need to be replaced within 10 years
@@wakawaka1976 ÄH, no. The batteries last much longer. There is a test of one of the first eco-drive watches, batterie is 30 years old, holds still 80% capacity. My citizen ecodrive is 13 years old, never changed the battery.
not only by sun, by every light. so they are everytime powerd if not stored in darknes.
Is that Seiko the 940 of your watches? :)
My Suunto Core has by far been the best watch ive owned, whether in the military, working outdoors or going out with the lady. It looks great and performs beyond my expectations.
I remember seing your original one when you wore it without the bezel with its stainless steel body showing proudly.
You can steel get the ones with the stainless steel case, either as a GW5000 which is a solar atomic, or as an anniversary models that come out every 5 years, they are simple like this one in the video but are built like the original.
I got mine, a DW5000SL which costed me $70 in 2012.
The British say Omeeeeega
My Omega cost more to service than my Mercedes or my wife’s Porsche! Just saying, be prepared
Good point Pete.
The Omega in the video is relatively simple compared to Omega watches made today, or even 25 years ago.
I didn’t think it’d cost that much...
@@anomnomnomnivore1350 service for an Omega runs about $1K US.
@@RussellGilder yeah for a modern one, for vintage ones you can have them serviced by a local watchmaker for considerably less. It's not like it's under warranty or anything at this point.
Hey Cody, Divers have guages to tell them how much air they have left. A dive watch is used to ensure you aren't absorbing too much nitrogen into your bloodstream (because of the high pressure environment) which can cause "the bends" when you resurface.
I've had the citizen eco drive since they came out with them. Still have the original, and wear it daily. I think it cost me 400 bucks maybe? Never buy a battery, and I lose about 30 seconds ever 3-4 months. Worth it.
So how about the ending to that Coyote video..........?
oh damn, when did he say that? Must not have caught it.
CZcams didn't nuke anything, he just never killed a coyote.
Brian Miller Yeah I saw that, but he lied. Why would they take down his video, single him out, but there are thousands of hunting videos up on CZcams? He didn't kill anything, that's why there never was a part 2, and he just decided to blame CZcams instead of saying 'No luck today, guys.' If CZcams really had taken down his video, you can bet there'd be a 'Furious Rant' video in response. The sad thing is, WS makes his living off CZcams, but decides to use them as a scapegoat for things like this...
Wranglerstar , awsome to get lost in your gadget appreciation . I have to say, I purchased a seiko diver, skx quartz in and around 1986ish. Have the box and recipt somewhere. Have had the battery replaced not more than 4 or 5 times and did a battery replacement myself a time or two. It does not gain or lose time to this day. Although the hands and dial do not really glow anymore and the black bezel is more like greyish from wear. Kinda cool to see they still make these although , in an automatic version. I get the romance of precision machinery and alure of technical innovation of a mechanical movement. But at the end of the day I guess I am a little practical in a sense that I just want the time, and to be the correct time , no matter. Year after year, for my everyday watch. I will splurge on a mechanical at some point, but it is hard to get away from reliable. P.S. my first watch as a younger man , was my fathers bulova accutron wich I used to hum myself to sleep under my pillow. If I could get that analog style sound back, in a quartz watch , that would be the beez kneez.
Thanks for the great demonstration. I gained some very practical information on this important tool.
We need a new update of your watch collection! Love it.
I’ve always liked watches, but I got really into watches this year. I needed another expensive hobby like I needed a hole in the head. 😂 But I love it!
Actually, now that I think of it, I was watching one of your videos earlier this year and saw your Tuna on an orange NATO strap. That’s what got me looking at watches again. I’ll blame you for my new sickness!
I thought in your other watch video you said the omega was a fake?
Yes I did, I've since found out it is genuine,
Wranglerstar Well, that's good!
Good deal. I was thinking the same. Glad for you it's real.
Really glad to know of these NATO style bands. When there was a clearance on Timex canvas bands, bought the few left because love how they breath compared to a leather band (my everyday watch has been a Timex as what Dad and Opa wore, but now know not the same, though lasted about 10 years). Even better is not having the metal back making a sweaty spot. Also makes a flashy watch not so flashy (why haven't worn the Swiss watch I was given ages ago, as afraid of getting robbed). Another excellent video, thank you.
Still regret I missed the meet and greet in Amsterdam. Amazing to see we also share out interest on this subject. Nice vid .
Rolex needs serviced every 10 years on average...I have a 1992 Rolex serviced twice runs with COSC cert...I have Seiko automatic dive watches that are 15 years old never been service still run within specs!
Timex -- it takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin' -- am I showing my age?
"This is John Cameron Swayze, in the Nevada desert, where we've strapped a Timex watch to this nuclear device..."
Timed Ironman is a beast
TheZigZiggy Timex was my and favorite watch for many years! I have a small wrist and I could always buy one with a very small band that didn’t bother my wrist when moving around with it on.
they would break tons of watches filming their commercials with that tag line. most of their watches they put through the abuse failed, but eventually they would get lucky and one would survive.. and that’s the one that made everyone think timex watches were indestructible in the commercial. cool story huh?
Other watches are available
My Titanium seiko diving watch came with a bracelet that was just fantastic. Same as the one you got after market.
I've got a 1978 Bulova Oceanographer 333 on my wrist right now. Was a gift from a friend. Keeps near perfect time.
