    Thanks for the detailed video. I got one from Market place. Brand new! $20. Mine has two ironing cover pieces but only 2 sizes of heads. 4/32 and 1inch. I have a thingy for adding piping too. More research needed I think. I like the idea of using my manual heads and a little fiddling with hubby and adding tape!

    Love the suggestion to use bias tape maker tips you can buy online to supplement the tip that comes with the Simplicity Bias Tape Machine. I just got the Bias Tape Maker machine, and the Simplicity tips available for it are ridiculously expensive.. But the work-around in this video, using the inexpensive bias tape maker tips available are a good alternative. One extra suggestion if you don't want to remove the metal ring and file down the plastic insert on them is to just turn them over, so the plastic insert is facing upward and so is the folded side of the bias tape. The tip will lay flat with no alteration if it's taped down or Scotch double sided tape is put underneath. The heating elements inside the creasing part of the machine irons both sides, and the rollers roll both sides regardless of which side of the bias tape is facing up, so the result is as good as using the original tip(s)--I tried both. What a great video, though-it opens up more possibilities without spending a fortune on tips.

    I have one that I bought several years ago and only used it recently and loved it. I typically use my serger with the bias binder feet. For people that do very long bias strips there is a simplicity "the winder" that works along with the bias tape machine. What it does is re-wind the bias strips onto spindles

      Fantastic! I was given a new in the box one that the original owner lost the directions for and she could never figure out how to use. I watched two other videos and couldn't get it to work. The trick was that starting bit that you sacrifice. The other videos never said that! Game changer! Rolled out a massive amount of binding in 5 minutes! Thank you!

    Do you have any thoughts on whether you could do this with a laminating machine? Perhaps stick one of those ebay tips down on the front or on a table and manually help feed through? I agree that most shop-bought bias tapes are very boring!

  • @WestCoastCanuck
    @WestCoastCanuck Před 3 lety

    Terrific video and much appreciated. Is there any workaround for doing a second fold? Specifically taking 1" single fold and running it through again for 1/2" double fold.

    • @DitzyBellzzCrafting
      @DitzyBellzzCrafting  Před 3 lety +2

      It’s been awhile since I have used it due to a back injury. But from memory it made it to think to go through the bias clips. But you can free hand feed it through the machine and it will iron roll it in half for you.
