Man they really had a missed opportunity having a bunch of different colored prometheans, some of those color combos are actually pretty cool
Or at least shades of red that range from orange to yellow.
Halo 5 Warzone prometheans: “am I a joke to you?”
Me and some friends are playing a Halo TTRPG lately and the DM had different coloured Prometheans to determine which faction of the forerunner security council they belong to
RGB?
Their main goal is to turn Halo into a competitive gane, something it should've always been since 2001.
Imagine if we had allied Blue Prometheans after meeting The Librarian
Would be nice if we had at least one Knight follow us and covering our back, would have been an unexpected campaign moment of the Didact got ambushed by one instead of relying on Cortana alone, would've given the Prometheans more story involvement and independence.
or at least friendly sentinels. They really didn't do shit for you the entire game except float and open like 2 doors
@@koldraxonofthefirstseven5718 so much wasted potential
Didact take them all under his control
Sentient blue kinght now that's amazing
Imagine if their light rifle matches with the color of their glowing armor.
Thatd be so badass.
Or when the weapon is dropped the color goes away, then when MC picks it up it turns white
It would be an excellent idea to differentiate them by type of weapon using different colours
They can swap to any other weapon I think
And wait for someone to release a mod base on that. Different color for different weapon the knights are using.
Using colour to differentiate between enemy types and ranks? Revolutionary new concept, this could completely change halo.
@@Paddy656 it wasnt necessary for halo 4. The different promethean types all had very distinctive armor. By your logic different cod enemies should also have rainbow colors as armor.
@@miniaturejayhawk8702 pretty sure they were being sarcastic, as different colours for ranks have been around since halo ce
I figured it would at least have their different allegiance to the storm covenant. Because when they’re blue. They attack both you and the covenant. Then they’re with the covenant when orange. I mean on a more scripting event. So if both colors were dropped in a fight. They would fight each other.
I imagine that team change is just a global alliance change and there aren't actually two teams, but I could be wrong. I know in previous games things like that were just done by an alliance change in the script, like when the flood helps you in Halo 3.
@@Markel_A Exactly how it works. Which is why Heed could make them fight each other with scripting
1:51 you've heard of Librarian Controlled Prometheans and Ur-Didact controlled Prometheans .. now get ready for Chief and Johnson controlled Prometheans
2:13 Piss controlled
it would be cool to see a custom game or mod where you have prometheans on your team. Red for red team, blue for blue team, etc...
What about playable enemies for the sake of machinima?
Or yellow/white for neutral, that would roam the midsections of the map and defend game mode objects/zones.
Imagine Dominion but where Prometheans could be spawned from controlled bases for backup. Not too overpowered when you consider turrets were already there
Halo 4's story would've went in a different direction if they had RGB prometheans
You finally did what that one guy has been asking for!!😂😂😂🥳🎉🎈
Dude no kidding i saw that guy asking in literally EVERY video lmao
Heed is the best
*Celebrate this time come on*
We all know the guy lol. Congrats to the guy
His determination was admirable, and it finally paid off lmao
I called it. I said over and over again the color differences were simply aesthetic. No reason why there should be 2 nearly identical models with different stats or AI just for such a slight difference
Anybody who has a basic understanding of coding would’ve known this. A few of us had been telling this guy for the last year but he still kept insisting… his bedroom is probably covered with promethean memorabilia 😂
@@ericbooth3393 Exactly, I kept telling them too, but I gave up after the first few times.
the funny thing is also, the game makes it absolutely clear they are the exact same enemy, just their alignment changed from Librarian to Didact. ITS IN A FRIGGIN CUTSCENE FFS
Yeah. Why put in different AI when they're just going to show up for 1 campaign level?
Have you guys ever played a video game before? Regardless if you know anything about coding, changing the color of an enemy model has been a sign of a power increase since nearly the dawn of gaming
I would love to see blue and orange, or even other colored, variants of the other Promethean Knights, like the Commanders or Battlewagons. We've never seen blue Knight Commanders spawn naturally.
There are blue battlewagons in halo 4.
@@staryoshi06 I know, but there are no blue Commanders.
@@staryoshi06 Battlewagons and Commanders are separate variants.
@@aztumtheknightofwumbo7060 Yeah but they mentioned battlewagons in their original comment.
@@staryoshi06 Right. Sorry. I was getting tired before I finished typing this.
Can you make a script or campaign mod that makes all the Prometheans RGB for the entire game? That would be awesome
RGB promethean’s are sick af
RGB knights sounds real good as a start for Cursed Halo 4
Quick question what would happen if you switched the colors during the cutscene where the promethean opens its face and shows its skull? Would the skull change colors as well or is the color only attached to the armour?
That is- a very good question-
Yes. They can show their skulls in gameplay too, not just the cutscene. This happens when losing their shields, being stuck with a grenade, getting assassinated, or shooting off their masks with precision weapons. Their skulls are blue or orange depending on the level you're playing.
“People wanted to know what the difference is… To answer that question we first need to understand what the difference is.”
If they are still orange in 5 means the didactic is still alive
Or just still serving him, dead or alive. The Librarian was dead for a hundred-thousand years and they were still blue boys.
Didact was still alive during 5 but 343 killed him...again
This is canon he was still alive, but like the other guy said they killed him off in a comic. The entire original story for halo 5 got scrapped because the community was on a warpath lmao
they are yellow in 5 and sieving cortana
@@infernaldaedra yeah, I wonder when the Halo community accepts that Halo 5 was partially their fault. Halo 4 is aging incredibly well. Unfortunatrly 343 caved in to the loud minority
After a year of that one guy asking on every video he finally gets what he wanted 😂
I had the same thought
Now I'm waiting for a mod that gives the Prometheans RGB lighting.
So this means, when the Halo 4 Modding tools come out. I could creat a wide range of knights with different colors, function, health, abilities and etc on the campaign for a complete rebalance.
Only clicked on this to see that one guy’s efforts pay off
Finally, gamers got some representation with the keyboard RGB Knights...
It's crazy how easy these changes would have been to implement.
i miss blue prometheans so much but now i want them to return with the yellow/purple hardlight in halo infinite
They look like mechanical crabs
LoL
I know they're long gone, but please. Make a standalone Halo game where you lead a squad of Promethean Knights and assortment of Armigers. And no redesign, stick with the 343-era designs. I love 'em
It would actually be cool if the lights actually determined how much damage the Knight had taken. Since they're effectively bullet sponges and have pretty poor hit responses, it would go a little way to represent at what stage of damage they are. It could also be cool if they got more aggressive the lower in health they were.
Prometheans were a cool idea, just executed poorly.
I remember seeing the colors on some Prometheans flash but I never understood what it mean. I would always assume that the Knight, Crawler, or Watcher was sending some sort of distress signal to its allies after taking enough damage or something.
Honestly, I'd love to see a Halo game that follows Halo 5, not in the way Infinite did, where in we fight the Created but encounter a monitor that's aligned with the Librarian and takes over a force of Prometheans and change them to blue and they fight on our side against the Created's orange Prometheans.
Yeah there was a entire intergalactic war that just got glossed over lol
I want a halo game where it starts off where halo5 ended on sanghelios with arbiter
We could still get the promeatheans back in halo infinite dlc. I’m hoping we do cuz I want to see how things end with them
Halo 5 wasn't glossed over out of laziness tho, it was simply that the franchise needed a breath of fresh air, and a good starting place for new players
"not in the way Infinite did"
Implying that Infinite was in anyway a continuation of Halo 5
the mad lad actually did it
1:48 Oh that’s sick! Green is my favorite color!
gamer prometheans are now canon.
Always has been.
Kinda different but it kinda reminds me of the citizens in Half Life 2 where they turn into their rebel models in the uprising chapters
They were originally orange when the Didact made them, became blue when the Librarian took command of them, and then back when the Didact returned. It seems that the difference is just who's commanding them.
To understand what the difference is, we must first understand what the difference is lol
I really like the concept of the prometheans. I wish each class had its own color. Like the crawlers be Green, the soldiers be yellow, the knights be orange and the bigger commanders or whatever can be red, that would been awesomeee and allowed players to see more clearly whats coming or idle nearby. I hatr that they ate just all grey silver and yellow and its hard to tell sometimes what is even what. Unlike the Covenant or Banished.
And just like everyone has been saying to that one guy who kept asking, there is literally no difference other than color.
The blue ones look cooler since orange isn't really affiliated with the Forerunners, atleast it wasn't until Halo 4.
Hi I've been waching for years love you man
Now can you change the lights on promethean weapons? I would love to see a blue lightrifle.
Dude the Rgb Prometheans is perfect for a cursed halo 4 mod
At this point now I want playable promethean knights
That one guy can finally rest easy, Heed has given him an early Christmas
The difference is that one looks like a Max Steel knockoff and the other looks badass.
GENERAL HEED DROPPIN' IN WITH GAMER PROMETHEANS.
I dont remember but is that the old intro?
Blue reminded me of being "neutral" or "protectors" in Halo. Sentinels, in some of the games, don't become hostile unless it's a specific mission(s), or if you attack them multiple times.
Orange from the short-films in the lore are warriors, and meant to attack instead of defend. Probably among the top 3 most interesting things for me in the Halo series. The role distinction in forerunner society through colour.
ayyyy the kid got his video lmao
great work !
Wait... People actually needed an explanation for this??????
Also the Green Promethean looks SICK
The color
Do the guns have the same color changing properties? That would be neat for some custom campaign kinda deal
i thought it would be something a little more complex but it's still cool!
"Riddle me this: what's the difference?"
Can you make The Didact’s armor blue like before his fall from grace
Makes sense that they can change like that seeing how they need them to swap colors mid cutscene.
Also by the way, I just did a glitch on a halo to play through in the Arberger to blow up the benches through the wall that the heretic leader goes in and he just stands there and when you go out there you can hit him and he’s invincible
Missed opportunity to have different colors for ranks, or what weapons they're using along with armor changes
RGB promethean knight confirmed!?!?
lets hope the legendary requester appears in this comment section.... once he does, his comment should be pinned
I hope he just ignores this video and continues asking
I recently replayed halo 4 and noticed whenever a ally or enemy takes. Splash damage the blood color turns purple
It be cool if they were green when they weren't agro and then changed color to when they were alert and then change to orange when they were in combat.
Didn’t even notice they had different colors, lol
Lore wise, i think the reason why they change to orange is because they became under the didact's control
That’s exactly why, prior to the Didact being freed, the Promethean’s are under/loyal to the Librarian.
Well,...
the Orange one is lazy and likes to say "Suck it blue" (in promethean)
And the blue one is not very bright and will often kill its teammates.
I thought it was based on teams. like blue is against you and the covenant, but orange is on the same team as the covenant
RGB Prometheans are something I never knew I needed until now
Someone, anyone, pLEASE put these Gods among Machines into Spartan Ops
Promethean running at 200 fps
Kinda neat actually. On the one hand it does mean never seeing them at the same time. On the other since we never do I guess it means having one less mostly redundant variant.
Slightly curious then; does the AA Wraith work the same way? I recall you showing the AA wraith in forge and it spawns in regular Wraith purple.
Those are just flat textures rather than being an RGB slider.
One is annoying in blue, and one is annoying in orange.
purple knight looks dope
Thanks for not being a party pooper who HATES 343 games, and just plays the game
1:40 The promethians are Irish I knew it
Is there any tutorial for the Halo 4 modding tools? I really want to start modding Halo 4 but I have no clue on how to do it with the tools
I really thought it would have some kind of relation to the fact that as blue they were in a separate faction where after they turn they are allied with the covenant
rgb color changing prometheans would be funny in cursed halo 4 i think
The difference is one is Orange and the other is Blue me thinks
How come the blade only has orange or blue?
Do the swords have their own shader? Because there are blue and orange flames coming out of it but when you changed the color only the lines on their carapace changed.
We need more RGB gamer prometheans in future games
Imagine if they rolled with Halo 4's prometheans and actually made it good.
now the real question is can you make them rgb rainbow
Watch to the end lol
@@chipsdubbo5.56 not exactly what i had in mind, but having a script that sets an x color every second could tank performance
Is the sword a separate weapon? Why does it stay blue?
Blue fights against covenant while orange fights with covenant
i always used to think the blue nights were friendly and orange were enemies
Can you make a tutorial on how to spawn unused Halo 4 content?
There massive bullet sponges who to love teleport whenever they want to.
Only way to kill them-is to spamshots from precision weapons
The shotguns and heavy weapons are all pretty good against Knights from my experience, though I can't say how good they are on legendary. Watchers on the other hand...
@@TheKaffeekatze On Legendary close range means death. They're the worst enemies in any Halo title because of how poorly they handle.
@@TheKaffeekatze Most of the stronger weapons in the sandbox work great against them. Shotguns kill them in 2 or 3 shots (and since Halo 4 is more like Halo CE in terms of player durability and you get armor abilities, you can get in range fairly easily), the Saw can shred them quickly, the Railgun can leave them on deaths door, power weapons are death, and the Needler is an unexpected powerhouse against them. It almost never misses, kills in two supercombines, has good reserve ammo, and can be found wherever there is Covenant.
Snipers are terrible against them though. Takes 5 shots to kill a single Promethean, and that's if you can get a headshot.
I always wondered why the promethean WEAPONS were always orange; they weren't blue before. Is there a canon explanation for this?
If I had to guess it's orange since they're a forerunner weapon like the sentinel beam which fired a similar orange beam
Aesthetics I believe given they’re all hardlight weapons and we’ve seen hardlight shown as blue and orange.
Given most Covenant weapons fire blue or green projectiles, they went with orange to make it obvious when you’re being shot at by Forerunner weapons.
@@5RndsFFE and humans fling pointy metal objects.
@@Robbie_Haruna There are Sentinel Beams that can fire blue beams, but since that is a different, stronger weapon we can assume that blue Forerunner weapons are higher power variants. The Promethean weapons are orange, and blue Promethean weapons would be different variants entirely.
I think it's just the color for the hardlight energy they use (the stuff they shoot). I'm not an expert on Forerunned lore and technology so I'm not too sure.
I remember a guy that asked that first, finaly
RGB Knights: *OPENS RGB SKULL* “GAMER TIME!!!!”
2:54 ah yes, gamer knight
Figured it was a color swap, but I can't help feeling there was a missed opportunity for 343 to make more classes on par with the number of ranks in the Bungie games Covenant enemies. Maybe higher ranks would be smarter in how they fight, like ducking behind cover when getting hit enough more than they already do, better health, that sort of thing.
lmao, this video actually got made
I just assumed the blue ones were under the Librarian's control and the orange ones under the Didact's control.
DAMNNN THEY GOT THE RAZER PROMEATHEANS
Now for the real question is what is the difference between Generalkidd and GeneralHeed?
I'm surprised I haven't seen this comment come up yet but when you change the colors for the knights to custom colors how come the sword didn't change it was only blue or orange?
I think it a different because the power when thay shot or hit
I just realized they remind me of Bionicles
Well the true reason is because the Prometheans were blue under the control of the Librarian. The Ur-Didact stated that after he was released and reconfigured his knights back to his side...still a cool vid though.
The personal torrent has different colors as well.
Blue one really looks like a max steel super suit
