perfect timing getting ready to do this exact thing with my 47re great video
Thanks for taking the time to put this video together, Very well done !!!
That was an awesome video. Very informative and you didn’t do a ton of talking and bs like most people do on these videos. Very good!
Thank you so much. I've never done one of these before and the way you laid everything out was less confusing. Im putting in the same shift kit. I have my valve body out and getting ready to do this. Your video is the best one I've seen yet.
YOU ARE A SMART GUY MAN, YOU ARE LIKE I WAS 20 YEARS AGO WHEN I WORKED FOR A GM DEALER AND I LEFT AND STARTED MY OWN GARAGE BUSINESS. I DIDN'T LET ANYTHING STOP ME FROM DOING THINGS THAT NOBODY ELSE DIDN'T WANTED TO TRY, LIKE TURBO ON YOUR WELDER. GARY C
Keep up the good work man
Exactly what I was looking for info on
Noop not pin 8 ~ pins 1+ Pos / 6&7 - Ground - LOL! Great vid.. been watching them all day & you made me laugh & took the some stress away throwing the parts in a pile. You sir have earned a Thumbs up from me!
Badass man I’d love to see this transmission in action👌🏻
Just learned what this was. Putting one into my 12 valve overlander build. Cool video and trucks man
End up doing it ? I have a 12v too with a rooftop tent it’s my camping rig, and I plan on hitting trails soon. I think this would definitely help with that.
Saved my bacon! I was using the transgo manual , but it is not enough! Especially if you dont take pics on disassembly! Thanks!
This was a really good video, dude. Thanks for sharing it
Dude: Have you done this before? Mr. Cool, no worries, just tackle it. LOL...
Other than all my shitposts, awesome video man, love the step by step from their instructions.
Thanks hopefully it helps someone!
Wish I found this when I did my 46rh for my 92' w250. They aren't exactly the same, but very similar.
Amazing
I can get transmission parts new cheap. I can also get after market replacement parts for hard to find solenoids.
Sweet
Are you a wizzard? Good vid!
Hey can you JB weld that on a stock 47re valve body and inable lock up in second? That's kinda cool if that's the case
Wonder if the same can be done on a 48re. I know the computer controls more on the 48re so may not
Good video ! If I did this to my Stock 1999 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins truck with 47re would it give a check engine light ?
Hey I need some advice, my tranny seems fine, bought the truck with a “rebuilt trans” no paper work but was told the 2nd gear was bad so they rebuilt it. I’d like to get some nice parts for it, should I buy a firepunk or buy separate parts and rebuild it myself! Thanks man love the videos
Did the kit you buy come with those directions??? If so, which kit and what manufacturer. Im looking to swap from manual to auto thanks
Do you have the link or part number for the fmvb conversion from transgo
Where’d you learn all of this, big inspiration man👌
The internet!
Just did this kit on mine and I have 1st 2nd and then absolutely nothing in 3rd. Just stays in 2nd. Any help guys?
What kit did you use if any??
You should invest in a tri-pod or 2. So you film and use both of your hands
Where did you order the kit for this ?
I did this to my 97 Ram2500 w/ a 47re and Im not getting my OD in. All other gears shift perfectly fine.
Check resistance over od lockup solenoid.
Where do I get this kit?
But seriously, could you do or share a Spotify playlist. Would love to hang out in your shop dude
Welder always needs a a machinist, right? Haha
Hey man. Under the pr calve. The two screw plate I can not for the life of me get that back on. Any help/tips? It’s like I bottom out and it won’t compress any more
At 12.57 upper left. The two bolt plate, I can not get those to squeeze down far enough to get the plate on. It bottoms out before it is flush for plate to set on
What kit is that
Anyone got a link to anyone who sales the fmvb for 47re
K so i got the same trans (Aparantly Rebuilt?) with a blue billet TC and i cant get past 2nd gear.cause aparently it Slipped? from 4th or 3rd back to second. Cleaned the vb as well but???
I got a ttva motor for the tv valve..does that effect tc lockup or Od. Cause i cant get either and its heating up bad
Im wondering if you help me on that subject
Sounds like direct clutches are burnt up.
1st and 2nd would be normal and direct clutches hold 3rd and overdrive. also lockup isn't enabled until your in 3rd gear so that explains why you don't have that either.
Is that set up for a reverse shift pattern or the standard shift selection pattern? Does that kit allow you to do reverse pattern?
It would be 1-2-3-N-R-P. Not sure about reverse pattern, don't see what the advantage would be so never looked into it.
Thanks for the reply back enjoy watching your videos. The advantage of a reverse valvebody would be that it places 1st closer to neutral and reverse. And you say it was going in a off road truck so it makes life a little easier then having to ratchet it throw all gears if u are in 1st to go N R P. So for example from park patterns would look like this.
Reverse valve body P R N 123 OD
Reg valve body P R N OD 3 2 1
Can a person do this to a 48re if I weld up hole in plate, or do they make another kit for a 48re?
they make an entire kit for a 48re im doing mine tomorrow on my 06 5.9 they come with everything including good instructions and the tools you need to complete it. like the drill bits and allen wrench. edit, i thought he was just doing a shift kit not a fmvb conversion, my bad.
@@keith2860 can you tell me the part number of the kit and where sells it? Thanks
Do you do tuning for 2nd gens?
Sure but only if your local
Always knew this shit was black magic
I just got done building my valve body for my 47re. The step where u grind the 4 land spool valve u should skip and the part where u filed the valve body skip them steps. I was told this by a very well known trans builder.
Any idea why?
The 4 land spool controls tc lock up grinding the valve my cause tc shudder when locking up.
Not grinding the valve body not sure y. he just said to skid both of them.
steps.
Also check out sonnax they have custom valves to control valve body pressure. Another thing to do is flats sand the valve body sections to stop cross leaks.
grinding the slot on the valve body where the manual vale goes is to allow fluid when in park which is one of the problems with these transmissions...but if you upgrading the manual valve they take care of the problem by moving the the part that allows the fluid to pump while in park...so no need to notch the side of the valve body...
you can see the difference in the new and old manual valve at 11:24 in the video...
Yea okay so new manual valve just completely bypasses that notch I filed. So your right it was not needed but also wont have any negative effects. If I notice tc shutter I'll replace the valve with another stock one and make an update video.
where can i listen to the music in the background lol
Andrew Konowaluk I always wonder the same thing lol
thats a 47rh not an re
Not a valve body build.. kind of a parts directory.
Face reveal
post_historic he has a few videos that show his face briefly
need to clean your lens
I try but your basically soaked in atf the whole time working on these things.
Good video but lose the horror movie music please.
