Irony of inabity to Remeber what the 4th army holiday box was. Seeing as it is an army of memories. *looks at my two holiday bundles of seraphon * its ok lizards I will always Remeber you.
Oh no! Queue up the Sara-phon McLaughlin songs. ;)
Bone Trebuchet am expecting to be in the Skull Cannon and Cygor camp.. and by camp I mean hospice.
Let's all hope not, but it could be.
Great show Vince. I’m still completely fucking overwhelmed by the possibilities opened up by this battletome. But it was a great show.
It's mind boggling for sure. I know I got sucked in and am working on something now.
Another episode where everyone forgot about Seraphon even though they had a battleforce box :'(
We need that new Seraphon book soon. Bring them back to the top of mind.
Thank you for the “pick of the week” shoutout!!!
Great video, really fun to watch. :)
Maybe a Miss Table for the bone catapult? Like, if it misses; it can hit something else nearby
you could have a witch army with a bridge made of witches! "build a bridge out of her!"
Very small rocks!
Only if your head sorceress is a duck
youre never wrong with a pina colada
Tom's drink of choice for sure.
"Akira Strategy" made my day haha
Laser beam annihilation. Always fun.
It’s time. I’m so ready for this episode
Great show guys!!! Vince in regards to your gyrocopters out of jet bikes, you could add a propeller to the back like a fan boat ....
I think I have it finished and a good prototype. I''ll share it on the show this week.
Vince Venturella can’t wait! Best day of the week 😉
So do you guys think the Demigryph Knights are worth their 180 in Hammerhal? I look at their warscroll and potential bonuses and have a hard time deciding. Thinking about using those old Brettonians for a cavalry-heavy force.
I think they are pretty worth it, I think they have the move and the damage to get the job done, they have the elite problem of course. That being said, getting them on such auto-hitting numbers is pretty good.
I know the various types of Dracothian Guard aren't often considered these days, but the fact that they're moving 13" with a 2+ save (1+ if they're fulminators against shooting) rerolling 1s in turn 1 in a Tempest's Eye army makes them not terrible, especially when you consider the Celestant on Stardrake's command ability. I'm actually eyeing some Fulminators now...
I agree, we didn't mention them but they have real potential in cities, I think the Living City is also good for them.
Any modelling ideas to play around with the amber thing of the Phoenecium? Just painting gems like amber feels a bit...uninventive? But can't really picture what else I could do to play it up.
sirbobulous paint some chaos stuff. Encase in colored resin and then carve and polish it.
Yeah, you could do amber colored resin pours with various things trapped inside on the base.
@@VinceVenturella I'll have a look at how I'd go about doing that
@@kylevaldez4793 Nice idea, I'll do some googling
For the gyrocopter ideas:
The 40k Orc Deffkopta seems a pretty close option.
The Reavers do seem like they could work. Just rotate and fan out those back blade fins into a copter blade. Can use a round shield as a boss or a hub between between the blades. Could also work with any extra weapon blades you have that look good fanned out. Seems like spinning blades coming out from under shields has a mechanically advanced feel to it.
Other general ideas. Use some wheels with spokes flipped horizontal “back to the future” style as a quad copter like you see all the drones these days do. Whether above or below what you want to use to carry the guy in. Could have some of that old fantasy airship propeller/rotor feel going for it.
Using wheels like that could even get added on as “stabilizers” to a bunch of designs.
Then there’s using crystals as the general fantasy advanced tech if a steam punk esque vibe is in order.
See, now this is some great ideas! You are tossing out gold here, I love it.
hey guys, love the work , just a quick correction on Evo's : Page 122 - Lore of Invigoration
Add the following under the title:
‘Units of Evocators can know and attempt to cast one
spell from the Lore of Invigoration. This is an exception
to the rule that they cannot attempt to cast spells other
than Empower. If a unit of Evocators attempts to cast a
spell from the Lore of Invigoration, it cannot attempt to
cast any other spells in that hero phase.’
I thought that was how we mentioned it, but thank you for the clarification, we were flying through so much, I have no idea we made a few errors. :)
Can't wait till next week. Would be great to see you guys play a table top Game at some point :) just saying :)
I would use the Scourgerunner Chariot body the starting point for gyro replcement. A little expensive but doable.
Yeah, not a bad main body, but it would be pretty close in overall form factor to the gyro itself, but it's a solid idea.
Wanderers got some gas in the tank with the new warscrolls! My army that was already mostly Sisters of the Thorn and Sisters of the Watch just got quite a bit better! Now to find a way to make my Sisters of Twilight a Stardrake....
Oh my goodness, that's such a cool idea for a stardrake! I always loved those Sisters.
Just a question? Is Warhammer Weekly available on iTune podcast?
Sadly no, just on CZcams right now.
Are heroes considered "unites" for the purpose of Stormcast units available as part of the army? (That means if I take 3 heroes I can take 1 more unit of Stormcast)
Yes, monsters, characters, groups of guys, they are all units. :)
@@VinceVenturella Thanks a bunch :)
have you considered just regular motorcycles for the gyrocopter conversion? they can look quite steampunky with all the engine piping etc everywhere, dunno if gw have any decent 40k ground cycles or if you can get something elsewhere like a harley/chopper/old german ww2 cycle in the right scale. the back wheel arch can be used to house the tail rotor and the front wheel can just be taken out and replaced with a cannon. i dunno if its too silly but the idea of steampunk easy rider dwarfs on flying motorcycle cannons with big exhausts appeals to me. might be a bit more rounded and vintage than a space elf jetbike.
Vince if your city is tempest’s eye do you have to bring battle mages from aqshy? The army has to be from aqshy.
Nope, the battlemage can be from anywhere, the realm source only sets the Realm Artifacts.
Just rewatched this- Did Aventis Firestrike get better since then for the Halllowheart faction or do you still leave him at home?
Still at home.
I’m so happy for his book! I’m just wrapping up 80 Black Arc Corsairs for my armies on Parade board. It’s time to be a Pirate!
Nice, that is quite a force for sure.
If the old Warmaster steamtank is big enough, would that be more the of the feel of what you are doing?
It's a good call, but a little too small I think. :)
I miss cannons, was really hoping COS was going to bring them back in some form. The quintessential black powder killing machine and they dropped it completely. Absolute shame
It's a shame, but they will be back in a new form soon enough (the Gunhauler from KO is 130 points and has a cannon, so it's actually the same cost a the other artillery and has 10 wounds and can fly). It's issue is only makes 1 shot right now, but it will have some new rules soon I suspect.
Hmmm, does Phoenecium survive/tank better than Fyreslayers? I am a fan of ending the game with the same number of my models on the table as I started.
I think they are pretty close. The PG monsters are certainly a lot more powerful than the Magmadroths.
Awesome show had to go to sleep around midnight but enjoyed the great ideas
Thanks, this was a fun episode for sure.
@@VinceVenturella cities definitely has the potential to be a meta shifter and I think you guys did an awesome job of highlighting the potential of each section. On the side vince I Also wanted to start a project of making mounted skaven pistoleers using wolf rats. I know you are respectable artist and would love any tips you have for bringing this conversion to the table. what I have right now is wolf rats as mounts skaven clan rats or stormvermin torso and heads, maybe pistoleers arms as warplock pistols. But I'm looking for legs, maybe some generic mount legs and add skaven feet might work but idk have any suggestions? P.s. I'm not the best artist but in respect the hell out of you and your ability to bring these toys to life.
Just a thing that makes me nervous about phoenix guard that I didnt see discussed is the addition of rules that ignore save after the save mechanics as in the new bonesplitterz. It's pretty rare atm only being one of their lodge equivalents but if it starts popping up more in new battletomes I could see it tanking phoenix heavy lists.
Also, gyrocopters look amazing. You're going in the book.
It's a good point, the presence of the Drakfoot alone does make them less powerful overall, I need to think about that.
I welcome a place in the book, I hate them. Also the converted gyrocopters won't have dwarves on them - double in the book! ;)
2:37:50 Yes, hail Hydra! I'm gonna play Anvilgard at some point
As for the Gyrocopters - how about steampunkyfied kastelan robots with KO heads as if they're wearing the suits? There's still a box with 6 robots, so it would be way cheaper than regular gyros too.
I still want them to have a flying form factor, that being said, that sounds like an awesome conversion.
I'm at an hour and ten minutes into the video and seeing how much Tom has melted away already, am beginning to feel apprehensive about the remaining two and a half...
He rallies. Don't worry. :)
@@VinceVenturella Watched the whole thing now, excellent episode, by the way. Even by your regularly high standards, chaps ;)
I hope you revisit after the FAQ. LOL I ain’t buying shit until the FAQ drops
#SkullCannon #NeverForget
It's a totally fair point, I don't expect much to change beyond the BIG thing we banged on about. (I hope).
Where is the Orruk Warclans vid? You promised that Orruks will go first. I was waiting and super excited for that video.
Don't worry, next week is the Orruks. :)
Tom complained about the lack of an arch regent being available after seven months. As a Nighthaunt player, where the HELL is the guardian of souls? You still can't get a Knight of Shrouds on Ethereal Steed, but a GUARDIAN OF SOULS?!! Practically every viable NH list has at least one GoS. *grumble grumble* I mean, I bought two off of Ebay, but still...the same applies to an arch regent.
FOr me, it's always been the case that I just convert for miniatures like that. I am not a patient man. :)
Yes lord
The silly list ideas are the best - you guys make me laugh so hard! Hey Woah’s quiet sarcasm is also always a good time❤️
I am just saying, ambushing laser beam Akira destruction sounds awesome. ;)
Gitz battlebox..
Slaanesh battlebox..
Ohh wait sisters are released a month earlier.. Guess no battlebox XD
Well, we got confirmation we are still getting the battleboxes, but the sisters one is really the big deal. :)
ok, im still watching this chunk by chunk, awesome vid btw and love the new book. idea number 2, a further expansion on flying motorcycle posted earlier, if that wasnt silly enough this ones definitely out of bounds, but id adore it. Merging 2 classic pedal powered vehicles from human history = the early attempts at flight via bicycles with wings + the elite water transport that is the duck pedalo. So its basically like a rocking horse with pedals that flap a pair of wings sticking out the sides, but its not a horse its a duck, a big metal plated clockwork brass duck like the antikythera mechanism meets the owl from jason and the argonauts
That's an awesome idea, not exactly the flavor I have in mind, but that is a truly awesome idea.
Bonepault 3 shots 3+,3+,-2 d6 cost 240pts
I need more. :)
@@VinceVenturella yeah, but GW suck at artillery
Hate the current gyro kit? Buy old 4th ed gyros instead! Or a 1:56 scale Apache helicopter
Edit: I'm actually looking at getting Sherman tanks to sub in for steam tanks because I'm not a fan of the model
Not quite the aesthetic I'm going for. But the tank idea is an awesome one.
Where the fuck am I? I find a guy that looks like the anti work mod and wings of redemption clone. CZcams auto play is something
It often truly is. Glad to have you stop by though. ;)
why does yt keep playing this video for me on autoplay? its not a diss or anything I just have never even played warhammer lol
I think the universe is sending you a message to come join us! Happy to have you stop by either way. ;)
@@VinceVenturella could be! Maybe it’s signaling you to my channel as well 🫣 either way, you a real one for replying🙏 well wishes
There is limitless potnetial with Cities, they could do one book per Realms.! This got me really excited to play them in Warcry, I just have to dig through my random minis collection and bits box....Nice show, even seen a year later.
Yep, it's an endless well I hope they keep exploring.
To be honest, not too sure about a Slaanesh Battleforce. Since the line is basically all cross compatible with 40k, I don't want it to count against the AoS Battleforce quota.
And, to be frank, the lack of chatter you are noting might just be Slaanesh bringing up the rear (lol) in popularity for the 4 chaos gods.
It's a good point on the Slaanesh. I was being sarcastic on the Slaanesh talk, people have chattered non-stop. ;)
I love how Vince doesn't like the new stuff GW does lol, KO? Nah, IDK? No thanks, BoneDaddies ? Eh
Well, the new Slaanesh models were a hit with me. THat being said, none of the new armies have landed with me, that being said, it's only a matter of time. :)
It took like 6 warcry warbands but we got one that's "ok" lol
