  • overall I am happy with my purchase. I did make a few mistakes but the bed cover still functions great. I do wish some of the hardware on the side rails were made out of metal instead of plastic but other than that I don't have any other issues with the cover! #taco #tacoma #truck #car #camping #trucks

    on my 2017 Silverado, I just added a tri-fold bed cover from RC and I love it! Today I am installing bed lights that will automatically come on when tailgate is opened, also there is a manual on/off switch, look in to it, it is a big upgrade.

    LOOKS GREAT !!! How’s it holding up ? Is there any leakage u have noticed? And what about fading from the Cali sun ? TIA

      It’s been holding up great! One thing I did notice is my Tacoma bed already comes with drain holes on the bed (tiny ones) so I ended up making the holes a little bigger and adding the drain hose that comes with the kit. A little water does build up on the truck bed if you don’t have those drain hoses installed (a small amount) but everywhere else on the bed stays dry! No fading as well, I’ve been loving the trifold system, that’s probably my favorite part about this bed cover since it makes my life so much easier getting my supplies 😄🙌

    Thank you for the very informative video. I would like to install the Rough Country tri-fold with a square tube welded ladder rack. Just wondering how much drama that's going to be. Also, drilling the bed in the Toyota Tacoma is not a big deal. I've drilled them with self tapping screws on 2014 to 2023 models to mount tool boxes and they have never cracked out or cause any damage through more than 200,000 miles of use

      Appreciate you taking the time to watch! Sounds like a fun project 🤘 yeah I eventually ended up installing the drain lines because I realized the truck bed already had drain holes (they were just tiny) so I made them bigger and ran the hose, worked great 👍

    Do you lose function of the rail tie downs?

    Looking into this one how is it holding up so far? Any leaks with all the rain you guys had the last few months? Anything you would change or do differently?

    • @GabeGarcia
      @GabeGarcia  Před 4 měsíci +1

      So far so good! I do get a bit of moisture when it rains on the inner part of the bed (closest to the back seats) but not a crazy amount. The items I have closest to the tail gate tend to stay a lot more dry. So I wouldn’t say this cover is water proof but highly water resistant. It does do a great job at keeping my tools secure and protected from the sun whenever I’m at a job site as well. I notice the hardware that keeps the cover strapped down tends to get loose over time which causes the bed cover to shift and not lock into place as easy. I think it has to do with the hardware being plastic but if you swap them out for metal ones you should be good (that’s what I plan to do) but the hardware doesn’t come loose often, just over time the more you use it. Hope that helps and if you have more questions feel free to ask!

    Took me 2 hours their instructions suck and the last 2 screws didn’t line up

      Their instructions do suck haha, at least for the Tacoma one. I was figuring it out mostly by looking stuff online to help me reference things

    is the metal finish matte or gloss?

    • @GabeGarcia
      @GabeGarcia  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I would say it’s more of a matte after a few days in the sun. It was a little more glossy out of the box but after a while it starts to look more matte👍

    The hardware is trash. I used my drill on 1-12 and a socket attachment for the bed cover they just came out with. Way different setup but the hardware is absolutely fucking trash 😂 strips too easy. The Allen heads also strip way too easy.
