The oldest documented memory dates back to February 6, 1085 when a deed was drawn up in the Monteficalli castrum.
The castle is mentioned several other times in the early 12th century as a curtis in which official deeds were drawn up, deeds conserved in the Badia a Passignano archive.
Among these documents the one dated 4 March 1122 is of particular interest; in that document the sale of an asset is certified between a certain Benne di Gerardo and Gisla di Guinildo together with the mother Ermengarda of the late Rolando................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Ioana, ciao! Indeed, a beautiful tiny town, few people know about. I was nearby for work and stopped after friday and filmed this almost " by accident" (!). Glad I did though.

Ich war mir fast sicher, dass Ihnen Montefioralle gefallen hätte Dagmar) Tatsächlich war ich zufällig dort und... es war der nationale jährliche Feiertag der Stadt! Hatte damals Glück. Wunderschöner Ort in einer so kleinen Stadt.
Wünsche dir auch ein schönes Wochenende Dagmar. In letzter Zeit ist es hier ziemlich kalt und bewölkt, also werde ich dieses Mal wahrscheinlich nur drinnen bleiben und nicht herumtouren. Ich werde mich etwas entspannen.

@@dagmar6822 Ahhhh immer toll da oben Dagmar. Und der Mai ist ziemlich bald. Ich bereite mich auf die Dreharbeiten für diesen Sommer vor - die ebenfalls im Mai beginnen werden - und bin ziemlich aufgeregt, vielleicht wieder einige Städte in Süditalien (vielleicht Sizilien?) zu besuchen.

Dear Sudip, my dear old friend. It's now I guess almost 3 years we've been knowing each other here. Sometimes I think about the friends made here.. part of this journey, actually the best part of it all to see "friendly faces" (even if virtual ones!) here. Lovely town indeed... I was coming back from a work assignemnt not far from there by car, and stopped almost by chance as I over-stayed 1 night up there in Friday. Glad I did; I was a bit tired though that day after driving and the filming was not perfect perhaps... but the town was worth it.

Dear Rajyashree, meeting once again here like old friends, in this saturday evening at 21:30 over here. Ad indeed beautiful tiny hamlet Montefioralle. The majority of people were there for that celebration of Pancakes that happens once every year. And... I was there by chance in the middle of it. I wondered... what are the chances? )) I was a little tired though after driving for work nearby and the filming wasn't as well made as in other videos. But I am glad I could get some nice shots of this very pretty place. Almost seems a distant memory though...

Ich hatte nicht vor, es zu filmen, aber ich war in dieser Woche zur Arbeit in der Nähe, und am Freitag war ich müde, nach Rom zurückzukehren, also blieb ich noch eine Nacht dort und filmte dies, während ich nach Hause fuhr ... fast ein Video "aus Versehen" :) Freut mich, dass es dir gefallen hat.

Дорогой Пафнутий, спасибо и рад снова видеть вас здесь. Ааа.. действительно, потрясающий город. Я не планировал снимать это, но я был поблизости по работе на той неделе, и в пятницу я устал возвращаться в Рим, поэтому я остался там еще на 1 ночь, и я снял это, пока ехал домой... почти видео "случайно". Рад, что вам понравилось. Фестиваль был действительно милым, и еда была совершенно потрясающей (и я тоже выпил стакан кьянти на этой площади).
Желаю вам хороших выходных и до скорой встречи, мой дорогой друг. Большое объятие отсюда, сейчас 21:40 и идет небольшой дождь

Да, мне тоже нравятся подобные фестивали, которые у нас называются "Масленица", где много разнообразных видов блинов с икрой, вареньем, мясом и другими начинками, а также с медовухой (медовуха - русский слабоалкогольный напиток приготовленный методом брожения из воды и мёда, чем то напоминает пиво).

What a great little village Ric! I'm surprised at the amount of grass and «green» at the top of the village. Normally, you only see stonework, stairs and the good old sanpietrini!
And being such a small village, I can only imagine the gossip level! This is one of those cool walks because it's filmed late in the afternoon, and it showcases a festival where we can actually get a glimpse of the local life. Nothing against those walks where the streets are empty, but this is a bit more enjoyable.
Further proof that there is much more to Tuscany than Florence! The Tuscan and Umbrian countryside is so iconic and beautiful...
I still have to comment on your last couple of vids as well, which I have yet to fully watch. I've been busy as hell.
Dear Hugo, I knew you would have enjoyed this) It was by chance.. what are the chances to be there in Tuscany and be at a random town at at that festival? Was very happy to see. Though, I was quite tired after driving and the filming wasn't actually very well shot . But it's ok. The town was nice indeed. Many children , had to stop many times not to film them. But liked Montefioralle a lot. Not that busy, not that empty that day. I can imagine how it can be on other days. Same for me Hugo, these days are quite tough... but I try to stay optimistic

Typical of towns in Tuscany region. All have their individual characters. Beautiful town as many people came out, and I think it's because of the pancake festival. I enjoyed video very much and watched it in it's entirety. Looking forward to next one.
Dear Esther glad you enjoyed it; I was sure you would, as it was quite crowdy as you like them. I was a bit tired that day after driving and the filming wasn't perfect (camera off-center, lots of interruptions:..) but I'm glad it turned out decently. Ah indeed Abdul - I was actually quite tiring that day after driving many kms for work nearby... and this isn't the best of filiming I did unfortunately. The camera isn't always centered too, and.... I tried not to film children (As I always do) just for their privacy so I had to stop recording many many times. :/
