Great video!! For years I worked just south of O-Hare in Chicago, during my lunch hour I'd watch the planes taking off and landing. Thanks for sharing!!
I like it! Very good video!!! I am currently an UCI student who is also a plane-spotter. I am planning to John Wayne Airport for plane spotting. May I know the location of this point? Thank you so much!
i love sna. natives have a feel for the geography descending over orange, tustin and irvine. on one occasion, i had the feeling we should've been lower than we were and convinced as we approached the 405. sure enough, we brushed the runway and took off to circle around for a landing that wouldn't take us crashing into the wall at the end of the runway.
"You’re flying by the seat of your pants trying to get in and out of those airports. John Wayne is especially bad because the rich folks who live near the airport don’t like jet noise, so they have this noise abatement procedure where you basically have to turn the plane into a ballistic missile as soon as you’re airborne." -Pilot, South Carolina
I've never flown in or out of this airport. I noticed the jets take off steeply. I figured it must be because of noise problems. When planes are being filmed coming in for landing I notice a lot of homes on hills in the background. Is that Mission Viejo I'm seeing?
Great video man, wish my airport here had that kind of variety

Great train videos...and now this. I didn't know you were into aviation! This channel just got better.
as a local resident thanks for posting something like this. I am due to fly out Thursday to Seattle and due back into John Wayne Airport on the 24th.
I like the sound of Southwest Airlines CFM-65 engines once the jet is airborne

The runway at SNA is so short. I'm surprised jets can take off and land on such a short runway.

Your right. Where the planes are landing that would be out in the Tustin Foothills and where there taking off more of Newport beach/ Laguna Hills.
can you always see those homes on the hills from the airport?
Delta planes don’t take off as steep?
Wheee did u film this?

Can anyone tell me what is the airplane at 11:00?
Not that it matters to you anymore being this is 2 months after you posted the comment, but that is a CRJ-700 (Canadian regional Jet).
Awesome thanks. I was still interested to find out. I thought it might be a Boeing 717 but I can tell it was a lot different.
kodos84 delta airways
Incorrect, that's a CRJ-900
That is a Bombardier CRJ-900 (CRJ9)
