  • Have you ever wondered what the best 21 Year old Scotch is? We definitely have. And while we won't really answer that question in this video, we did decide to do an interesting blind between four different 21 year old Scotch's - two blends and two single malts. Who will prevail as we pit Johnnie Walker XR 21, Chivas Regal Royal Salute 21, Glenlivet 21 and Glenfarclas 21 against each other in another no-holds-barred blind showdown!

Dwars and Glenfarclas both have very afordable 25 year olds. You should put them in the mix for the 25 year old challenge.

i would absolutely support Dewar's 25. Tangentially, I think Dewar's 18 trounces JWBlue Label, 18, and the Gold. Just for that alone, I would totally support this.

Cheers to you guys for promoting blind tastings. I have learned a lot about my palate and have surprised countless friends with a blind tasting. If everyone tasted blind more often, whisk(e)y prices would come back down to earth for all of the folks actually opening bottles. Keep em coming.

So for the 25's you should do the Glenfarclas 25, Aberfeldy 25, The Dalmore 25 and the Glenlivet 25. Getting into some pricey bottles but boy would that lineup be an absolute treat! Could even throw the Glenfiddich 26 in there but it's not a 25 so up to you.

Gotta call out Dillon here. Entire time he is talking about the red (dark fruits, etc) I was saying Glenfarclas. Sherry bomb notes. Mr. Dillon wouldn’t have missed that. I assume this is mental stress from the GTS announcement.

18 and 21 The Livet still reigned supreme! We are very lucky here in NZ, our whiskies are a tad cheaper compared to US.... As always thanks for the fun and entertaining review guys! I have some reviews of my own and would love for you guys to let me know what you think of the whiskies that we reviewed! From NZ to you all, Slainte!

my guesses based on your explanation: yellow = chivas because its the worst whiskey I have tasted, dont like the ceramic taste and I believe its what overshadowed the rest for you guys. green = glenlivet because its my favourite. red = glenfarclas because I have never had it. and blue = johnnie walker because it has smoke and I liked their gold and blue, never had 21.

I do wish a 21 year old whisky to have a little more alcohol content than that 40%. At that age a extra 6% of alcohol only opens up the flavors it does not taste more like alcohol. And if it can bring out some warmth I’m all for it I love a warm whisky!
