When I was a little kid my Aunt had tape cassettes of the age of Radio dramas. I would while away my days when my Mom was over their listening to recordings of the Shadow and Little Orphan Annie. Those drama's would paint a picture in my mind that would have me enthralled. When I listen to your retelling of the Fall of Cadia I am brought back to those days. Thanks I really enjoyed listening.

Great reading. Generally, a good book but some interesting characters seem to have been introduced and forgotten (ancient ultramarines, a custodian, etc.) and the Ark Mechanicus was really nerfed, never utilizing its AI or Golden Age equipment.
When people go to recover the Will of Eternity, it would be great to find the survivors of Cadia hiding in bunkers designed for extended sieges, hunting any abandoned chaos invaders, and continuing to proclaim, "Cadia stands!".
Much better and much more informative than the novel Cadia Stands! Thank you for making this available :) You are a very talented narrator and your voice suits the setting perfectly.

Warhammer is probably the least friendly to new comers wanting to grasp the basics of it's lore due to the mind boggling amount of it there is. Having never played the games I myself am one of those newbys. I won't say I have even a good understanding of the lore yet, but I really love listening to these short stories in hopes I will soon. Such excellent narration makes them exciting enough that prior knowledge isn't necessary to enjoy them.

I remember getting into the hobby just as the original 13th Black Crusade was the Big thing and now here we are, the crusade redone and with devastating effects and the galaxy on the brink, two sons of the Emperor returned and new gods on the rise while the Tyrannis advance on and the Silent King rules once more and the Orks have their prophet....and the Custodes get a Amazon pushed addition that was somehow silent for 10,000 years. Truly interesting times to be in the hobby.

Ive always wondered how the imperium couldn't somehow use a modified exterminatus bomb or 3 (not a virus bomb obvs) to deal with these incursions as soon as they poked their filthy heretical heads out of the warp
o they use mines and stuff and were fortified it was just such a massive invasion it absuorbed all the attacks
their fleets eclipsed the stars apparently

Dude, great narrating. Really felt like someone in universe was telling the story. Especially on the battles, really gets you pumped up about it.
I swear every time I listen/read 40k lore I’m always disappointed Catholicism doesn’t have saints as bad ass as 40k characters like Celestine. Art history classes would have been so much more interesting.

@@robertmartin8907 excessively embellished for sure if you know the actual history. Her martial experience was literally comprised of being present but never fighting in a single battle, and being shot with a bodkin while carrying a banner.
I'd say that's pretty lame next to Celestine. However, the transcripts Joan of Arc's trial are very impressive. Despite having nobody to help her and probably being schizophrenic or having some other mental illness, her clarity of rhetoric basically debated her way to innocence despite it being a rigged trial. Of course they executed her anyway. A real travesty considering everything she made possible for the king and the church in her time.
@@billl2903 It's not really embellished. She had tactical and strategic command of the entire armies of France, and she actually made decisions on multiple occasions (many of which her generals hated) that resulted in major and surprising victories.
I just keep returning to relisten to this. You do such a damn good job in your presentation.
