At 76 yo These finger stretches' Are difficult. Soaking your hand in Epsom salt then cleaning your hand and a lotion will do wonders as far as teaching your hand what to do. Hey sounds crazy but it works.

One thing that is a benefit is being blessed with a longer pinky finger, I have noticed most good players have it, I am not so blessed, any suggestions for compensating for that?🤔🙂
Hi Gary, I would just encourage you to play various things that ask your pinky to stretch and take it slow and easy every day. Also, I always remind my private students to not judge their overall progress by any one particular thing - this is a good example! I have a lesson from my teacher that requires this shuffle stretch and it’s basically impossible with my modest finger length and flexibility. I appreciate this lesson and will try it. I wonder if capoing on the 2nd or 3rd fret would work? I know it would change the key but it would allow putting it in easier to reach frets, especially on a 25.5” scale.
