Crazy Judo Moments From The Most Aggressive Judoka Of Our Time - Walide Khyar

  • In this video we will talk about one of the most emotional and sneaky judokas of our time. He went through many stages in his career and felt all the charms of professional sport and judo - ups and downs, transition and consolidation in a new weight category. The name of today's main character in the video is Walide Khyar, and he represents France. To be more specific, we take a look at three bouts when his emotions were out of bounds and he was literally flying into hard clashes with his opponents. This is clearly not according to judo principles, but it was very emotional and perhaps spectacular from a spectator's perspective. The most interesting as always at the end of the video in the fight against Joshiro Maruyama. I wish you all a pleasant viewing experience, and I'll say right away - I don't judge this judoka in the slightest and I express my respect for his achievements, and I despise all offensive comments against him.

    Not my type of judoka for sport and philosophy of judo if one cannot control his emotions

    This is not judo, it is whacking, scratching and no-direction-manouvers.
    Mr. Jigoro Kano would be dissapponted.

    No need to be pc.Just say hiw it is. He is a psychopath with mediocre technique and no respect for the opponent. But Abe will destroy him like the last time they clashed.

    I don't want to be disrespectful towards Walide Khyar, since he has had some incredible results and showed a lot of great Judo in his career. But I just really can't stand his attitude. I understand really well that it can be emotional sometimes because I have been competing since I was a little kid, but since 'Respect' is one of the most important values in Judo I just don't understand how athletes at this level sometimes act this way and actually manage to get away with it. Again, I'm not trying to talk bad about Khyar. He is a great judoka and has been on the scene for quite a while now, but he could really work in his attitude in my opinion.

      after his game with Maruyama , he rightfully earned himself the title of "Rat of the Year" , I never understood the notion of playing so lowly a game and then shaking hands and nodding on arms and acting as if he has done nothing wrong , this is just disgusting , Maruyama on the other hand , along with the other Judokas in this video displayed excellent sportsmanship against khyar or whatever his name is.

      You cannot say that he is a great judoka if he has such an attitude.

    I'm french and i don't like his style with mediocre technic, he's a shame with his violent attitude, far from the judo's spirit, even if fights are rought in the high level.

    Lets not forget, its a summary. We can at least give him the fact that he is super agressive, which explains the counters seen in this vid, which is refreshing nevertheless. I will always rate high a top level offensive guy

    In my opinion you have to have aggression in judo, and in fight during an important competition you may be a little stiff what can result in some punches especially during greep fighting. I think it looked pretty normal, however because of a chaos of his actions maybe you can judge him a bit too harshly. But he did not do it purposely. He is just a wery uncomfortable opponent. That's all.

    Anyone that speaks negatively against him has obviously never worked nor sacrificed even a fraction of what it takes to compete at an elite level. It’s not disrespect if anything more ppl would want to watch judo more by seeing this type of intense rivalry/competitiveness.

      @himurahesse Před 3 měsíci +13

      according to your theory , the other "Elite" Judokas in the video should have rightfully displayed the same attitude towards him, does this make any sense ? I remember Nagase vs Takeshi , what rivalry and what a display of sportsmanship and self control from these elite players

      Nonsense, 99.9% of Judoka don't act that way, especially the Japanese, not even at club or local amateur level, to curb and control your emotions is the essence of Judo teaching.

    Khyar est un guerrier, un super combattant, très agressif et physique ce qui est à l'image du judo moderne. Je saisis pas réellement ce qu'on lui reproche mis à part quelques écarts mais ce qui est déjà arrivé (pas souvent je vous l'accorde).
    Puis bon il combat quand même Maruyama, , Smetov, Nagayama (Abe) sur la vidéo qui sont juste les meilleurs judoka de la caté depuis des années, qui est une des caté la plus compétitive en l'occurrence, ce qui en dit long sur le judoka extrêmement compétitif qu'il est.
    Je lui souhaite le meilleur pour ses prochaines échéances.

    There is a lot of flinty pride and lifting oneself up by putting another one down in his culture - and I don't mean French culture.
