(Context; we were all VERY high) I started singing "Walk" but in an Operatic style, everyone joined in, we smashed it out of the park, epic. I've listened to metal since the mid 80's and I know what you mean. It is a musical genre that is so misunderstood because all people see is the image or they just assume it is screaming guitars and vocals, rather than seeing the emotion behind it.
The power of music can really change your whole outlook and emotion, from listening to thrash metal to give you that pumped up, lets do this, to the softer sounds at the other end that really speak to you and the way you're feeling.

Calm rage is the emotion of this song. This type of song is why metalheads tend to be well adjusted. (Of course there are exceptions) we don't need a therapist, we just need our music.

Most people around me don't listen to rock, let alone metal, and are completely closed off as if it were impossible to appreciate different musical styles, I really find that too bad to be closed like that. I did several festivals in France and there are few black people, but those I saw made me really happy

Wish I coulda be there live of course but hey, ya gotta do whatcha gotta do. Been a fan of Pantera since I was 12, I'm nearly 38 and still love 'em. Saw them live @ Ozzfest 2000 when I was 17. One of the best shows I've seen to this day, and I've seen a lot of fuckin' great shows. Also, anytime I get to watch someone react to Pantera for the first time, it's a treat. Pantera for life! Crazy thing is they use to be a Glam Rock band back in the 80s playing local clubs around Houston, Tx where I live. My older sister use to party with Dimebag and them. They then switched to this type of music and they gave her n friends tickets to their show with their different sound. She said the place was going crazy. Not her type of music(she liked the Glam/Hair/Rock), but she said they kickedass.
