- The Liquid Edge is happy to share our version of this classic song from Kansas. An epic tune that feels appropriate given the times we are enduring. It features the talents of Michael Goyette, contributing his skills on acoustic guitar, and Jasen Colson on lead vocals. This song was recorded, filmed and produced in December 2020. It marks the end of a difficult year but leaves us hopeful and optimistic for the next. We hope you enjoy the song.

You dont need to say " Better Than Kansas". It's a great version but this is not competition and that's a slight to Kerry Livgren and the others who created this masterpiece. RIP Robby Steinhardt.. Your violin playing is missed..

And, might I add once more, Better Than Kansas!!!! Allthough they ( Kansas) composed the song! 👍 You may not understand that, here in South Africa, in the third world, we really appreciate music like this. We don't have access to what the first world has to offer....Kind regards to you Norman.
@Volcano1958 Sure you do! 3rd world 1st world..With the internet this platform we are on now proves there are no boundries anymore. Maybe you missed Kansas in the 70s with your "3rd world" status as you claim but this version we are discussing is pretty recent.. Kansas is a state where they have tornadoes. Didn't you watch Wizard Of Oz in Capetown? I'm sure you did.

Ever since I first heard this cover nearly 2 months ago, not a day has gone by that I have not listened to it at least once. Usually several times. This really is astounding and I prefer it to the original now. Everything about this cover is perfection. The guitars. The voice. The harmony. The timing and pacing. You took a great song and turned it into a masterwork.

You guys nailed it. Reminds me of the very first time I heard Kansas do this song on an l.p, or cassette. ( There have been 100s of shows, and 100,000s of hours of music listened to since then. ;-) ) Bravo!
Possibly a little more echoey, than the original, but clearly one of my top favorite covers; ever. Then, again, it's just one kick-ass song, very classic song. Former YES-man Tom Brislin is playing keys, and writing with them.

Superb rendition heartfelt and very very well arranged and executed it may sound like a simple song to do but believe me to pull that off with such technical grace and harmony is no mean feat this is easily the best cover version I have heard of this poignant and beautiful song it was already to be played at my funeral my wife knows it is my wish but I might opt for this version because it's fresher yet still holding very much onto the originality of the song - 10 out of 10 from me
