Really good reaction to a great speech. Since you asked for my opinion, I personally and strongly think we are chasing shadows when we speak about trying to bring this abandoned and broken ship back from the shallow waters to the main ocean. This is going to take too much time and effort to get there before we even start to move at all. In my view, we are not one nation yet and the only thing that can converge us is a unified awareness of cause that we are one nation. The problem is the world is moving too fast and we can’t wait for the ship to be built and then we start to sail. In fact what we need is to build small boats and start to sail. The projection of this analogy to our real situation would be to bring an environment of services and products. Build models that show their potentials of bringing foreign revenue and then show to the governments to steer their priorities in that direction. The summary of my “speech” here is the people close to the policy makers and the policy makers themselves are not capable. We can’t change them but we can show them their face by proving to them that I have a model that works and you have to favour us by making changes in your policies. As we know in the US and other good economies, the ideas come from people and students who use those ideas to prove by applying them on a small scale. Unfortunately our technocrats and politicians do not realise that they are not capable of bringing these new thoughts because they are not placed for that. For example I had an idea about something in my university at Fast, I verbally presented it to a teacher and he didn’t fully understand it and rather than trying to understand and ask questions, he said we can look at it another time. I said you said to me you had time so the only reason is you don’t understand my idea and I can explain. He got angry and that was the suffocation of that idea. The same thing presented to my senior students and they were astonished. To cut it short what we need is to create our own logical clusters in the society on the basis of various departments like IT, economy, medicine, agriculture and much more. Then for each of these logical clusters, we need to have a group of financiers or funding makers and fund raisers, a program manager who overlooks and is responsible to report on its progress, create teams within the clusters to gain knowledge of the state of the art, a team that interacts with the outside world to get recognition of their proposals, seek knowledge from the champions of that field, try to gain free access to international resources and laboratories and then come up with success stories and make them proven and presentable. I think we all should know what I am trying to say here and my clear message is please “stop relying on parliament decisions and decisions from people who are not capable”. Let’s change our direction and start being practical.

I think instead of selling large government buildings to the private sector, they should be converted into libraries, either completely or partially. A huge problem that is being faced by so many college and university students. There could be some fees for that, so only serious people use the library.
