- The cost of higher education has skyrocketed in recent decades,
and every year we read about another scandal in college
admissions that makes the average person feel like they are
powerless to do anything about it. Mark discusses how
we can change the system, because today there are now more
seats at colleges than there are students to fill them, and that
all we need is the right information. Mark holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education, and served in various
roles at five universities. He has written for the Chronicle of
Higher Education and been featured on NPR. After stints as
a musician and an improvisational comic, Mark is now an
entrepreneur and the CEO of TuitionFit. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
Imagine if ANY other product or service increased its prices by $250 per year?
What could possibly appreciate in value that rapidly

People would be up in arms
It wouldn't be so bad if the future earnings of college graduates wasn't also declining.
Great idea. Just need the solution! Sounds like an easy app or website for an entrepreneur or robinhood to whip up.
Well done, Mr. Salisbury. I like the idea of colleges using your data to grow enrollment. If I understand it correctly, both students and colleges win that way.
Mark definitely knows what he’s talking about when it comes to higher education and wants to make choosing the right college easier. Tuitionfit is going to become a necessity for incoming students.
The simplest way to bring down the cost of college is to just not enrol in them.
