Just thought you might find it amusing that my 2 and a half year old daughter requests to watch one of your videos each night before bed here lately. :)
Wow! That’s awesome! Your daughter is a genius
The Elegant Oxford As a JROTC Cadet, your videos have helped me quite a bit with shoes. Even when not shining my shoes I watch your videos, it calms me.
czcams.com/video/lKi6zQAyhns/video.html
Those are literally the nicest brown shoes I’ve ever seen. It was entirely from your skills.
Thank you, Joseph. I appreciate it.
What a transformation!!! As Biggie once said, from Ashy to Classy 🔥🔥🔥🔥
If Biggie said it, then it’s the truth
Makes me wanna go to the thrift store to find old shoes to shine.
Makes me want to find the guy who wears them😍
Then sell them on eBay
Do it
Isn't that the truth
@@La_abbess lol 😆
Absolutely gorgeous finished product. Love the marbled and burnished look. Regal is just the right word.
Thank you so much!
I will apply this method when shining my knob. Thank you.
@Firsthgyhgyhuy Lastujhujhuj of the knob 🤷♂️
Come shine mine too.
Just don't rub it too hard or you'll start to remove the surface, which can cause issues.
Good luck with the acetone.
@@tonyc2489 oh you can apply acetone, just don't inhale the fumes and you'll be OK
Your skill is simply amazing.
Thanks!
I remember making my jungle boots in the Marine Corps looking like glass. Mad respect, great job.
Yes sir
You are a artist, other do their work on canvas, but you on leather.
I really appreciate that
Outstanding!😲
Couldn’t Agree more
Well said Mr. Cooper 👍🏿
Shiet brotha you rite!
I’m becoming obsessed with these vids, I’m trying to achieve what u do and although I am nowhere near your standard I’m improving all the time... had an old pair of Churches that now look amazing thanks to you.
That’s awesome! Practice will help you improve
I hope so many thanks for the inspiration
I wish soldiers of the 80's and 90's could have learned your techniques. It sure beats: spit, beer and lighting it on fire; and it doesn't take all day to do it!👏
True!
That is what I did in military school !
I admire your eye to details. Such painstaking job deserves a great finish. Good job.
Thank you!
Great video! Love the color!!! I like the new way you shine your shoes.
Just found this channel and was inspired to strip and shine my oxfords. I figure if the world is coming to an end, I’m gonna go out looking smart.
I love watching your amazing transformations. It is very therapeutic. It is great to see these dress shoes be brought back to life.
Preston is so very gifted. He is THE authority on shoe refinishing and shining. I have learned a lot from his wonderful videos.
Honestly through your skill and love for your work you elevate the worth of shoes by a 10 fold. Beautiful. You should give a try to use your skill on other leather goods like travel bags, briefcases etc although you have enough work already. But give a personal try and show it to us.
That is an amazing job!
Since I have been following your channel over the past several months, I have
1. upgraded my entire shoe collection to shoes that have some decent leather that I can shine and make an impression.
2. changed out all of my Kiwi products to Saphir products. You are right, there is a difference.
3. Added many more colors beyond black leather. Now have mahagony, oxblood, brown, walnut
When I first started watching, I was already in awe of your results and tried to learn the techniques you were using.
Now you have improved your techniques to not only get amazing results, but also be more efficient.
Keep up the wonderful work and keep the videos coming.
That’s amazing! Thank you for watching and supporting my channel
Wow!! They look incredible!!
WOW.. they look absolutely stunning.. gave it new life
Gaziano & Girling is one of my favorite show brands I don't a pair from them but I love there overall aesthetic
They look regal
I’m fortunate enough to own a pair of these. St. James II on a Deco last. Beautiful shoes, even down to the fiddleback waisted soles.
You've really brought your craft to another level since you started posting these videos, chapeau! On a less positive note, here in Italy CZcams is interrupting your video FOUR times in fifteen minutes. A real pain....
Beautiful job. Nothing better than an Oxford.
This is a lot of handwork and attention to detail. Resulting in an a mazing and beautiful transformation of these G&G captoe oxfords! 👀👍
WHO in the WORLD would thumbs down THIS?
i just shit my pants
I have no clue haha
When you hold your phone upside down
I can't believe 70 HATERS have!
Maybe someone who did not like the video.
Being a soldier watching this brings tear to my eye
I'm enjoying binge watching your videos and when I've watched them all, I'll watch them all again.
I love seeing people who choose a profession that is also clearly a passion.
These are stunning Preston.
Thank you, Shelly!
I really love these videos on shoe dyeing as I'm going to try it soon for the first time. I like G&G's quality but I can't get behind the burnishing that all of their factory shoes tend to do. Oh well, to each their own.
Never knew so much went into making a great looking pair of shoes!
They're breathtaking works of art.
4am and find myself in bed watching shoe shine vids lol what a time to he alive. Great stuff.
CZcams is too cool
My mans changed these shoes whole career.
The shoe just got its PhD
Bro! The shoes are probably on its way to publish its first novel.
That’s unbelievable!! Absolutely love this!!!
Now THAT. Is a snappy looking pair of shoes!
Holy smokes, Preston! You continue to amaze me, man.
thank you!
I’d be walking in the room like Conor McGregor with shoes that clean.
Man you more worried about getting them dirty before you reach the event.
Jajjaà
@@kamalgill3256 Or about losing his teeth in the ring.
Your devotion to this craft is nothing short of astonishing to witness. Thank you.
Hey, Force Multiplier. I appreciate that! Are you a fan of ASP? John uses that phrase a lot. Made me think of it.
Wow! You are a master artisan. Chapeau!
👀Glass toe
Your skills are moving up into a new level. Keep up the good work! BTW, I got my very first pair of Goodyear welted shoes today! It's a pair of Brandi colored Captains by Thursday Boots. I'm ordering the saphir products I need to shine them up tomorrow! Thanks for sharing what you've learned with us, it's not lost on me.
Austin Patrick Congrats on your first pair of GYW shoes!
Congrats. I love my captains. It’s a great boot
Incredible. What a beautiful color
Beautiful sir! I love your channel. Very soothing calming. No loud over bearing music. Salute!!!
Reminds me of how much time we would waste shining our shoes in the Navy, only to go screw them up dragging them across non-skid or getting paint on them.
But at least these shoes are worth the work. Great job!
Beautiful, the shoes looked initially 'flat', and you changed them to 3D.
Thank you, Stefano!
I’m impressed. Truly. Nice work.
Among the best color conversions I've ever seen. Really amazing work.
Thanks!
A Man After My “HEART” “THE WIZ”!!!
Thanks man!
Two rules that I always follow:
1.) Saphir Médaille d'Or Pommadier Cream Polish is only ever left to dry for 10 mins max. Once it sets solid, this cream becomes stubborn to spread and blend.
2.) I use my bare fingers with this same product (less is more), and make sure to NEVER start the dab onto any brogue holes. I always start from a clear expanse of leather and gently spread out. By the time my fingers touch the holes, it's just a super thin smear, with no danger of filling with gunk. Sounds so obvious, but this mistake if often made.
Good tips for sure
The best in the game always beautiful Work .
What a work of art, absolutely lovely.
Hey fuzzy2i! Thanks a lot! I appreciate it!
That’s clean work brother, I’ll be in touch. Have a couple of shoes I would like to send you.
Hey I always use circular motions, how much time do you save getting a mirror shine with your method, and is it as effect.
Thanks in advanced
It depends. I found it’s faster overall but circular motions still work with the new method after a few up and downs
@@TheElegantOxford Thank you for the information
Seen that on the Japanese shor shiner that won the Shoe Shine competition. Apparently, buffing that way is like sharpening a blade. Up and down.
Absolutely astonishing 😵 super amazing work! 👍
Thanks!
What a stunning piece of shoes! G&G just screams quality. And great job BTW!
I can't speak for most of your audience but as a young adult of limited means, I would love to see you polish up a pair if inexpensive shoes, mostly because through your teachings I was able to make a cheap pair of payless shoes look amazing with some nice saphir navy polish and a mirror finish to rival you (dare I say), na I kid, but I'm a huge fan and thank you for enlightening another kid to the finer things in life
Did the saphir cost more then the shoes ? Assuming you used the mid range product!
Don't be afraid to look on ebay for higher quality shoes. I've gotten allen edmonds for around $100 or less in good shape. Just make sure to look closely at the pictures and ask questions if you need to
@@randymoran67 lol not quite, the saphir polish was like $10 and the shoes were about $30, but in my opinion well worth the investment (the polish that is not the shoes)
@@magicalplaid I very much appreciate the tip, I will do some looking
Frank, Go on Poshmark. Quit a bit of growth for mens shoes
So...
1) 6 or 7 coats of Saphir Mirror Gloss across most of the shoe, focusing on the toe
2) Wait 10 minutes
3) Using droplets of water and occasionally tapping on Saphir Mirror Gloss, buff in a *non-circular* motion, like a mofo
This changes *EVERYTHING* , Preston.
Eye Heart Sushi It’s similar to the Japanese method. It shines really fast.
Whenever Shah Travels Thanks. I’ll try it!
dont put more than 1-2 coats of wax on the vamp
Шамиль Тагиров Got it. Thanks!
@@user-np1ho9pz1q Do you brush out or buff the wax on the rest of the shoe, after the 10 minute set-up? Or just focus on the toe and leave the rest of the wax alone? Seems like that deserves a brushing or buffing with a fine chamois
Thanks ,you are a true artist ,best wishes John.
What a transformation, to put it simply…wow.
The elegant Oxford: Hey guys look how shine I got three shoes
Tommy from good fellas: Hold my beer
The truth is that I had Tommy taken out so I could reign as the #1 shoe shiner. True story.
Now go git yer effin' shine box!
They look amazing but no way would I want to strip and dye shoes as expensive as Gaziano & Girling haha
I was scared at first! Every pair I work on scares me to this day
Can't say I have ever wanted to watch someone shine shoes but it was oddly satisfying and a truly excellent finish! Thank you CZcams for your algorithm
Just when I thought it couldn't get better... It did... Awesome process.
Thanks!
First
@13:10 I thought my phone rang. 😂
Jeffrey Catap I totally checked my messages 😂
Haha yeah it was my phone
Your craftsmanship is truly elegant!!
Amazing Work as always! All of ur videos r training me on future projects for my own shoes. Great job
CZcams: Wanna watch a guy shine some shoes?
Me: Sure, why not.
Thanks for watching!
Same here. The recommendation was a bit odd but my curiosity got the better of me. "Huh, I've always wondered how to shine shoes to a mirror sheen..." 3 videos later I'm a fan of this content. It's like the man who restores new shoes, the guy that fixes damaged paintings, Adam Savage making things in his workshop, any carpentry video, and the dude who rescues kittens in New York (I think). They have this satisfying and calming content that is very smooth and relaxing. I get that it's not everyone's thing but the great workmanship turned me into a fan.
DAMN, THOSE SHOES ARE SEXY AS HELL!!! HI, PRESTON!!! I love the way you made those sexy shoes even sexier!!! You've got that touch!!!
Thank you, Angela!
You sir are truly an artist!
... great to see the practice of a craft... amazing outcome from an unexpected...
OMG... That was a pleasure to watch. Beautiful shoes!!!
It's a science. Specialized scientists can do it. Amazing job. Loved it.
Gorgeous....what a gift...I love leather
I'm inspired to shine my own dress shoes now. Impeccable job sir. My kind of dress shoe.
You are a true artist and consummate craftsman. Thank you so much for your channel and brilliant work.
Awesome job with these! Amazing last, and beautiful color
Simply WOW !!
Just beautiful restoration
Your skill is incredible, they turned out beautiful! Feels like watching the composition & finish of a piece of fine art...
Thanks, Lana!
WOW!!! If i did not see it, I would not have believed it. Amazing...great video, thanks.
Thank you! I really appreciate your comments
Brilliant, I could see your videos several times and never got bored!!
Thank you for watching!
Superb work. Great looking final product.
They look incredible!!! Love watching your videos.👍
U r a legend, i like all of ur work, god gifted u with great hands
Great job! Both the result and the video are wonderful. I have recently started to buy old shoes and shine them, your videos are very inspiring!
You sir, are truly an artist, and the work you do is impeccable
Thank you, Kevin
Beautiful work Preston!! Wawww
Amazing transformation. You are a real artist to produce that from the blank canvas started with. Really brought the best out of the design of the shoe. Impressive. Keep them coming. 👍🏼
Wow beautiful work. Bravo Preston. The shoes look like new. Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure
You said it... A regal pair of shoes, beautifully restored ✨👞✨💖✨
Thanks!
You're a true artist ... those shoes look fabulous afterwards ... right accents that really make them pop. I'd say they look better than the originals ... when they were new!
Stunning, I loved this video!
Absolutely beautiful !!
Turned them into a work of art
Another terrific job. Gorgeous result.
Thank you, Jim
I have to say I didn't care for the black on the broguing until you did the sponge black around it. That really brought the colors together. Amazing job thanks for sharing.
I went and put the wrong polish on my toecap 's the other week and when I rubbed it off it looked just like your ones and a like it very much. I might now follow your color scheme. Thanks.
My new favorite channel! Love the work but also the commentary and relaxing background music. I can learn and relax all at the same time!
