    Why did you slash the center front to the armhole ma?

    Thank you for the tutorial..but if I want a mid cowl neck,where should I draw the horizontal like from?..neck line ?

    • @CillaSi
      @CillaSi  Před 2 lety +2

      First, you only transfer bust dart to bust level line at center front.
      @ 7:19 instead of drawing a line from tip of the armhole to bust level line at center front, mark the mid point between the top of the neck line and bust level line then draw a line from the tip of the armhole to this mid point at the center front.
      When positioning the pattern on the new cf line as @ 8:16 both dart leg at the bust level line must touch the new center front line.

    • @Omahness
      @Omahness Před 2 lety

      Okay,I understand the first part,but at 8:16 you are referring to my waist dart aligning to the new line right?.. I dont want to have a waist dart so where do I transfer it to?

    • @jessicainnocent2519
      @jessicainnocent2519 Před rokem

      But yours at 8:16 almost touched the center front line too.

  • @jessicainnocent2519
    @jessicainnocent2519 Před rokem

    Must it be cut on bias ma for every type of fabric?
    And please I don’t understand how you inserted the front strap when it has a cut together facing. Did you slit it?

    • @CillaSi
      @CillaSi  Před rokem +1

      It drapes better when cut on bias

    Ms Cilla please help, I’m currently cutting should I cut the facing separately since I wouldn’t add any lining??

    • @CillaSi
      @CillaSi  Před 2 lety +1

      Don’t cut the facing for the front separately check the video at 8:59 where I measure from C” to the top line mine in this video was 3” That’s is the facing .
      if I wasn’t using lining I would have increased the the 3” to about 6 to 7 inches so that when I fold it, it would cover my armhole so I won’t have to use bias tape to finish the armhole . So instead of the 3” increase this length to the measurements from C” to 1 inch below your armhole depth

    • @heavenlybrigitte5678
      @heavenlybrigitte5678 Před 2 lety

      Thank you!

  • @heavenlybrigitte5678
    @heavenlybrigitte5678 Před 2 lety

    Hi please you said facing but ended up adding a lining.

    • @CillaSi
      @CillaSi  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes . the top portion of the front that I folded in is the facing.
      My lining started from where the facing ended and I only added lining because my fabric is a very transparent chiffon.
      Note : you can also increase the length of the facing so it can cover the front armhole.
      You can turn the back neckline and armhole with bias instead of lining
