I had a 5.7 Hemi roll up on my 460. I hit 3rd in my ZF and walked the dog on his ass while his Hemi was screaming wait come back I wasn’t ready! Those 460’s are severely underrated!
My friend boasts about how his 94 f150 with the 300 CID inline 6 would make more power than the 460 if it had the same engine displacement (7.5l). I told him I doubted it. Nothing much can beat a good old 460 if were talking raw stock power. What do you guys think? He disses V formation engines and says inlines produce more torque. What's funny is that one day a guy with a 2nd gen dodge cummins 12 valve rolled up. I asked him if he wanted to have a towing competition between my 460 and his Dodge 12 valve. Both 3/4 tons. He straight up told me "Hell no, a 460 would eat up a Cummins". I enjoyed hearing that but I reassured the 12 valve owner of what a mighty American muscle engine he had under the hood
@@kyboy5 But if they were both 460 CID, they would produce the same power. The V8 would have more torque in general (the 460 is already known for having great bottom end torque) since the cylinders are pushing from the side instead of pushing down on the crank. Inline diesels are limited greatly. Being large inline engines, having torque, but rpm limit because of the larger crank having a stress factors. Either way, they both should produce the same horsepower and torque but not at the same RPMs of course, it is already different between the two configurations. Anyways, I'm just speculating and asking to see what information, fact or opinion, that people can offer me
Had an older cousin that was a farmer that told me his 460 in a 90's ford out pulled his 90's dodge cummins I was like your kidding and he said no I'm not!
Turbo Diesel vs Gas a ok. Honestly though, engine displacement does mean jack shit in a tug o war. If you put enough weight in the bed of a Ford Ranger it'd tow that Cummins backwards all day. It's all about weight and traction, the end.
No replacement for displacement, don't mess with a big block!
"Get off the brake ya bitch" Love it lol
2:07 LOL
What he says is flat out amazing lol!

This video instantly made me a Big Block Ford guy. Love the 460, I'd love to have one some day

300's are torque monsters that would drag small block v8s around back in the day. If they were 460 cubic inch's no doubt it would drag a 460 around.
