I truly miss him. He was so uniquely talented with an incredible gift for voice and song writing. There will never be anyone that comes close to the Bee Gees.
The world lost a beautiful, unique voice and person when Robin died. The 3 Gibb brothers are together and waiting for Barry. What a reunion that will be!
I agree. In all of the interviews, appearances, shows, he's always *drained*, like he's just void. Sure, there's some laughs, smiles, but that's depression, he's trying to mask it, but he was never the same, and part of the reason the BeeGees could never get back together is because Robin couldn't continue what a trio started for nearly 50 years, without the third man. And that depression is what made Robin so frail, not sure how depression could lead to cancer, but I'm sure it made him weak enough, he probably didn't even wanna fight it, he was just ready to be gone.
Set the record straight and he didn’t die from alcohol abuse but from viral myocarditis or layman’s terms an inflammation of the heart muscle but was clean of any drugs or alcohol at the time of his death
Very poignant and sad bless. Bless em. Barry is a very sensitive and emotional bloke I think: he suffered at a lot in losing his bros particularly as he said he was not on good terms with them when they passed. He's been very brave in going alone.
Always loved how unique Robins voice was, one of a kind! He was a brilliant artist but certainly couldn’t dance. Loved seeing him during live shows try to be grooving to older songs with absolutely no rhythm , but he gets a pass for his brilliance with songs that we will cherish forever. #RIP Robin 🙏
As the video ends you can see Robin's joy being able to sing with big brother Barry. I know Barry carries sadness that they weren't getting along when Robbin died but I think Robbin loved his family including big bro Barry.
In fact, his health condition was really bad because of the years of cocaine addiction. It's a drug that weakens the heart. He died as a result of myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle. But I also read somewhere on the internet (I don't know if it's true) that he died at Robin's house in England, where he was supposedly working on a new album. It seems that as he was not having success in writing songs, he got depressed and, not finding drugs, he started drinking a lot. In this page (I really don't remember where I read this, but I'll try to find it out) Robin said that, at that point, Andy couldn't even stand on his feet and that his state was terrible. It was when he started feeling deep pain in his stomach and went to the hospital, where the doctors, not knowing his previous health problems, could not immediately identify what he had. The doctors asked for more exams, but his state got worse and they just found out what he really had when it was too late. Maybe that's why there are different versions of what was the real cause of his death. In an interview, when asked about it, Barry said, in a very honest way, that Andy 'died of a combination of things.." (Watch: "The Bee Gees on Parkinson (UK) 2001" - 11:39).
Perhaps you might say drugs was a secondary cause. I don't know if he knew of his heart condition all along or if he did not know at all. Yes I do believe he was staying with Robin and working on new music and he had an extreme downward spiral. Severe depression took over him and he did drink. I'm going with the thought that he didn't drink in his last few days as his mother said the doctors told her he was completely clean of anything when he died and Barry said the newspapers were disappointed and said bad news it was natural causes so they didn't have a sensationalized story. He did not die at Robin's house but in the hospital. Sad outcome no matter the cause. I sure do miss him.
Well, I really don't know if he had a previous heart problem, but I've heard from doctors that, in young and health people, one of the main causes for a heart inflamation like this one which caused Andy's death is drug (specially cocaine) addiction, as it weakens the heart. At that time, the last thing the family would have wanted was a scandall, as they were already suffering so much and as Andy had a daughter who was only 10. But, as time passed by, and as his problems were not a secret even to the public, the brothers may have started to reveal the truth. In that interview on Parkinson (UK) 2001, while Maurice was talking about his emotion for having the four brothers on the stage during a concert, Robin poked fun, asking if Andy was 'standing on his foot' (11:19), and they even laughed. For us, fans who love them so much, these things hurt, but only they know how they suffered and also, for many times, how they may have gotten really angry and anguished with that situation. When you have an addicted person in your family, there's a mix of feelings, from shame and anger to deep sorrow. It's a terrible situation. Maurice also went through that with alcohol, and even his daughter Samantha reavealed in an interview, three years after his death, that he had never completely ovecome his problem. That's a very delicate and hard situation. The page which I told you about is a fan page (spicksspecks-archiv.blogspot.com.br/2012/01/andy-gibb-story-behind-music.html). And in the same page, there's the interview with Samantha (spicksspecks-archiv.blogspot.com.br/2012/01/samantha-gibb-talks-about-her-father.html). It's a Bee Gees' fan page, so although I have no idea if it's a completely trustful source, I don't think they would put there informations with the purpose of damaging the Bee Gees' image. But, anyway, I still love them, in spite of what they may have gone through. Their personal story is amazing, and it was made of difficult moments and also glorious moments, and they were humans after all, like any of us.
Lucyinthesky yes , MO still had his times when he fell off the wagon but he never let it get away from him as he did before. People think that addicts just get over it and that's the farthest from the truth, addicts are always addicts and it can sometimes be a hard struggle when stress and problems arrise. Thankfully Mo had at least 10 years of a good family life before his death, I just wish Andy could have found peace before he had died.
Hi everyone it warranty here on the famous group and good news congratulations my friend we are now we allowed to eat Duty now to the great man who is Sir Barry Gibb god bless you baby I love you all night
Obviously you don’t read the publications of Maurice and Robin’s deaths. How did you come up with your wrongful diagnosis? Were you the treating physician? You’re pathetic!

I think that Maurice’s death played a massive role in Robin’s health declining.

Andy did NOT die of alcoholism. He was clean and sober when he died of a heart infection.
