Combining Rulerwork and Double Loops for Amazing Quilting Texture - (Re)Quilting Undulation!

Undulation is maybe the only Stashin' with Stephanie quilt that I wasn't 100% in love with when I finished it. I only had half of the fabric in the warehouse when I started designing and the low volume prints in the fatter strips just didn't work.
We decided to remake it with the Alison Glass sampler bundle we recently put together, using the low volume prints for the background skinny log cabin strips and the bright Sun Prints for the fatter log cabin strips.
The result is a very fun riot of color winding throughout the quilt and I love it. But I wanted to bring it to life even more with the quilting.
I used straight line quilting down the centers of the low volume prints on the background, to mimic the straight lines of the piecing. Then in the fatter, colorful strips, I used a whole bunch of coordinating threads to quilt double loops matching Alison's beautiful signature colors as close as possible.
I love the combination the two textures provides. And by using threads that matched very closely, the fabric is still the star of the show.
