I bought a set of these for 2 storage containers I have. I’m able to run 2 lights in each box running off a small battery and 25w solar panel. I love how lite they are cuz the containers are rentals so I just hung them from magnetic hooks. They work great

Herb.......another triumph sir. Knowledgeable, clever and funny, your channel is going to do great things. Why not get a small kickback on items, tools etc you use and like. I just bought a 10 pack on Amazon for $70. I know there's probably better quality lights but for the price, you can't beat it. Plus no one's going to know how flimsy they are once they're on the ceiling.

Shawn, glad you liked it, I just got the Sunco Brand shop lights in, I'll do a review of them, I suspect they'll be better.
Here is the problem i have with Lumens.. My workshop in my barn had 4 8 foot t12 shop lights in it.. Only 1 worked, a 2nd only 1 of the 2 bulbs worked "bad ballast". I decided to go to lowes to check out lights and i decided to get the Lithuania 9000 lumen LED 8ft shop lights uses 73w so about 120ish lumens per watt. They are VERY bright, and suprisingly do not have that LED glare which i absolutetly hate about led's. However they were 90$ plus tax so 100$..
since i had a T12 that worked, i decided to keep that T12 and i found a pair of GE 8 foot bulbs. 60 watts each, and they claim 5900 lumens per bulb, so 11800 lumens for 120w thats 98 lumens per watt... This is the thing with LED and T12... T12 is NOT really that inefficient if you have the right bulbs especially the longer 8 foot ones. The bulbs were $17 for the pair (ouch) and i decided to buy a new t12 ballast and get 2 more lights to save money. I wasnt about to spend $200 for a 2nd set of LED's.
This is the funny thing though.. in all for my t12 shop lights, i spent $20 on a ballast, and $38 for 4 bulbs. In essence i saved over $140 versus going to the LED's. Now here is the catch.. The T12 claims 5900 lumens.. I made sure to run them for 5-6 hours to "burn the bulbs in" to get maximum light out of them. When i look at the shop in the back with the 2 9000 lumen led lights and then look at the front of my shop with the t12's fully warmed up. The LED's are brighter on the floor by a decent amount.. They claim only 9000 lumens though, and the t12's should be 11800.. So why are the t12 dimmer ? I think its because they probably measured the lumen output using reflectors that capture all 360 degrees of the bulb and point them downward. I noticed my t12 also light up the ceiling too.
So what im gonna do is take the other t12 fixtures i havent fixed yet.. and swap out the ballasts and bulbs and put them on those fixtures.. as those two remaining fixtures DO HAVE curved reflectors.... Im betting once i do that the t12 will then be brighter than the LED like they should be.. Regardless though.. saving $140 by sticking with t12 was worth it. I only use the shop a few days a week and only for a few hours.. so those bulbs will not get "dimmer" for years and the power savings on the LED is only if you use the lights for 8-10+ hours a day.
Ive also seen LED lights DOZENS of times.. that claim 2000-3000-6000 or whatever LUMENS.. and they turned out to be JUNK.. The problem today is the chinese lie about power ratings, for everything... They will claim the LED light uses 40 watts, but it uses maybe 10w. They claim their 10AWG wire is 10AWG when in fact its 10AWG for the coating and a 14AWG wire.. lol get what im saying ? They have LED dusk to dawn lights that claim they are brighter than the older HID lights.. which they are not

Walmart sells a good quality shop light for $14 every now and then.

All the Chinese lights are overdriven so they are brighter but burn out in 2 years. Debatable whether the anticipated energy savings are worth it
Not UL rated? Hmmm
I think they are ETL rated but don't quote me on that, I bought better ones that I need to review when I have the time.
