This fly accounts for so many fish it's scary. Although very basic in its makeup, the overall look and profile mean it's hard for any trout or grayling to resist!
This is one of my go to nymphs when fishing either under an indicator or an Elk Hair Caddis on the rivers. It rarely fails me. When people ask me what I'm catching on I just refer to it as the Steve Cullen Nymph.
I recently tied this and got my pb on it so tied it in a few diffirent colours and went out and got some heavier beads as well. Now my favourite nymph.
A nice new technique of cloaking I haven't seen before. I will now tie a few up to tempt those elusive browns on the Waioeka River down-under in NZ. Thanks Steve.

Very very nice, very buggy!

What an awesome technique for the collar. Going to tie up some of these and apply the cloak to many other patterns
This is a killer fly, I use a #18 baetis nymph or a scud beneth this , great combo.

I like this! Your use of a cloak is a nice touch! Thank you!
Thanks for taking the time to share Steve 👍
I've never seen the cloaked style before, nice! Subbed cause of this one, looking forward to more inspiration.
Looks like one to try. Thanks for showing it.
Love "guide flies" and love the cloak technique. Will incorporate that on others too. Earned a sub A+++
Like it Steve, I'll tie some tomorrow for the upper Clyde in a couple of weeks. Cheers Big Davie

Hi there, great fly and video thanks. What size of hook and bead was this? Cheers
3mm buddy
Nice and easy👍
I had to figure it out, I thought you were saying ‘squiddle’. I’ve been using peacock flash dubbing instead of feathers lately.
Would you post the recipe. Is that squirrel dubbing you mixed? That request seems funny, but I can't get my sound to work. Thanks
just a rabbit squirrel mix pal
Magic!
Nice, but what are the sizes of hook & materials please?
Nice looking fly .What dubbing is the thorax please ? I thought you said hends 36 but I can’t find a hends dubbing that is number 36 ? Thank you
yes buddy
Why thicker in the winter?
Similar to a Walt’s worm
Materials ??
He mentions all of the materials besides the bead size.
