Hola Tony! Just returned to the US from 2 weeks of driving around Spain and Portugal and thanks to your knowledge and guidance, we had a great time! We knew we wanted to see the Basque Country and the north and west of Spain, but you convinced us to spend time in Zaragoza! Fabulous! It was walkable, interesting, varied and beautiful! Without you, we would have missed it.
Delighted to hear that, Joseph! Even more so to hear you adored Zaragoza!
Thanks Tony, we will be buying the guide today
Excellent! Hope you'll have a great stay in Zaragoza.
Thank you for this excellent video 👍
Our pleasure!
We LOVED Zaragoza! Your city is so beautiful! The Basilica, La Seo, El Tubo, the Cristal Museum, the pedestrian streets, the food, and sunset photos of the Basilica...and more! We were in heaven. We're such big fans, thanks to your wonderful videos, Tony and Cecilia. We also followed your road trip through La Rioja (stayed in Elciego). We even saw Los Picaos de San Vicente de la Sonsierra. That was something to witness for sure. Muchas gracias for helping to make our five weeks in northern Spain just perfecto!
Dear Kay, we are delighted to hear you had such a great time in our hometown (and also in La Rioja). We hope to see you back in Spain soon! All the best!
Yes, please, I would love to see a video about the tapas bars in Zaragoza. Thank you!
Thanks Jeff!
I loved the video! Very well explained and beautiful images. I want to give a note, in Zaragoza there are many museums and some are free, one of them is in La plaza de los Sitios, near to the Paseo de la Independencia. And the food is delicious, if you want to eat something typical there are the migas, the ternasco, the borraja and for sweets there are the marinos, the adoquines and stones of Pilar, etc.
Muchas gracias, Haru. Yes, we need to record a video on typical dishes, like the one we've done on typical tapas from Zaragoza. We haven't mentioned the Museo Provincial as it is going to be closed for a long time. All the best to you!
Beautiful city! I was delighted with the dazzling architectural diversity! It must be wonderful to live there. Another unique quality video! Impeccable production, photography and information 💛❤
Thanks so much for your comment, Yara.
We just discovered your channel and are really enjoying all the videos! We're visiting family in Madrid in August and they are taking us to La Rioja (thank you for your road trip videos there), and also Bilbao and San Sebastian. We have learned so much about Spain already from you. Thank you so much, and we will keep watching, liking, and sharing!
Dear Joanne, many thanks for your lovely words, we're delighted to hear we are being helpful! All the best!
Zaragoza is such a lovely city with so much to offer it's visitors ... A must visit !!! Your channel is so far the best travel video in visiting Spain and Portugal ... Very informative with fantastic graphics and visuals . 👍 Thanks for sharing such wonderful videos !!! 😊
Thank you for your kind words, Philip. Delighted to hear you love Zaragoza, too!
We are visiting Zaragoza for the day next Saturday. Thank you very much for all your suggestions of what to see!
We hope you have a great time in our city!
Another inspiring video with fascinating details! My husband and I definitely want to visit Zaragoza soon, so we would love it if you'd make a video about local bars and eateries too! We hope to tour Zaragoza and some of the other lovely regions of Northern Spain the next time we visit our son in Madrid.
Thanks, Sarah. If this video gets enough views and likes, we'll record that video on local food. So far that target looks quite remote. Have a lovely trip!
Tony, thanks so much for your information and your enthusiasm! You make me want to live in Spain. Yes, show me great spots to eat, the Spanish food and wine are outstanding.
Thanks John!
A lovely city and thank you for past reviews and help with information on our visit we will be back so much to see
Thanks, Steve!
Another great video. Thank you so much!
Don't mention it!
Love and looking forward to every video you post
Delighted to hear that!
Great video. We will now add days in Zaragoza in our next visit to Spain. All your videos make Spain much more accessible.
Great to hear that!
Hi Tony,
Can you recommend some restaurants in Zaragoza for breakfast, lunch and dinner?
Thank you 🙏🏻
Hello, we don’t have that video ready yet.
I’m from the UK, and I’ll be honest, other than knowing they had a football team, I knew nothing else, and would never think to visit. However, now, my wife’s parents have moved from Barcelona to Za Ra Go Za and so I get to visit more. And I love it! More videos please! And definitely about la comida 😂😂
Thanks Glenn, we're seriously considering that Zaragoza tapas tour, but it will take some time to be ready.
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal at El Patio Del Plata I had the BEST bravas I’ve ever had. 😍

Thank you. So enjoying your videos. Appreciate all your efforts!!!
Great to hear that, Art.
Really good work, Tony. My wife and I always take friends to Zaragoza with us when we go to Spain 🇪🇸
Great to heart that, Frank!
We loved Zaragoza so much we are coming back in October. Yes please to a tapes video!
Wow, great to hear that! Hope you can make your visit coincide with the Fiestas.
Your videos are always so great! So informative with great video content ! Thank you! 👍🏻
Delighted to hear that, Sar!
Another great video! I hadn't considered Zaragoza as a destination, but this video puts it on my list of places to visit. I really enjoy your channel and find it very informative. Thanks!
Great to hear that, Connie, as well as being a very interesting destination, it's really easy to fit Zaragoza in any route throughout Spain.
Thank you Tony, I'm in Zaragoza now,
Hope you'll have a great time!
¡Gran episodio! Gracias por todo el trabajo duro que pones en estos videos. El contenido informativo y entretenido es la razón principal por la que veo y disfruto de CZcams. Perdón por mi pobre español.
¡Muchas gracias, Joel! ¡Tu español es excelente!
Tony, first we have really enjoyed your practical and honest suggestions. You have convinced us to do a 2 night trip to Zaragoza and are wondering if you do tours? If so we might be interested in a 1/2 or full day tour. We would be looking for June 4 or 5th. Also how to contact you if this is possible.
Hello, thanks for your words. We don't do tours, only work with information. We have a full-day self-guided tour through Zaragoza, you can see the details here travelguidesspainandportugal.com/product/zaragoza-in-one-day/ You have already contacted us!
Hi Tony
Thank you for your videos on Spain and Portugal.
Partly on your recommendation, earlier this month, we broke our train journey between Siguenza and Lleida for a few hours in Zaragoza. What had been a rainy day turned beautifully sunny as we arrived at Delicias. We left our bags at the left luggage - it’s in the bus station at Delicias - and walked to the AlJaferia palace, being the nearest monument (about 20 mins) Well worth a visit, and, as you say, up there with the Alcazar in Seville, Alcazaba in Malaga and the Generalife in Granada although not quite as vast at the latter. We liked the idea that part of the building was still in use as the Cortes of Aragon. Indeed was saw some of the Deputies having a ‘smoko’ in the courtyard! Being shoulder season we got into the palace without prebooking with no difficulty. The palace closes for the afternoon at 2pm so we walked back to the station for a snack before our onwards train. It started raining again just as we got to the station!
One thing that was disappointing was the state of the park area between Avenida del Soria and Calle de Lago. What was clearly intended to be a pleasant landscape area has been left to deteriorate and is now threadbare. What must have been a similar smaller public space on the city side of Av Soria, has graffiti bemoaning its neglect and the use of that neglect to justify selling the area off for development. Hopefully the larger park will be restored and avoid being built over.
Best wishes
Peter
Dear Peter, many thanks for you feedback on your quick stop in Zaragoza. We're delighted to hear you liked the Aljafería. As for the park you mention, it's not a traditional park in the city and that's why it's probably in a state of neglect, which is obviously unforgivable. All the best to you!
Me ha encantado y conste que yo soy maña y siempre he vivido aqui
Nos alegramos, paisana.
Hi Tony!
Thank you for all the time you spend on creating such wonderful content, full of helpful tips and tantalizing visits.
I am on a deep dive into your channel as I’m planning a trip this October to the north and center of Spain.❤❤❤
Thanks Mary, happy planning!
Gracias!
¡De nada! That's very kind of you!
Thank you for another wonderful and informative video. We are going to visit Saragoza on June 19 and 20, this video post came just in time for our visit. We are so lucky!!! Would love to know where to eat in Zaragoza too. Thank you again 🙏🙏🙏
Great to hear the video came at such convenient time. Our video on food in Zaragoza will take some time to be ready, in the meantime, write down these two names: La Miguería and La Ternasco, both in the old centre of the city.
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal that’s great! Thank you 🙏
Hi Tony and Cecilia, Yes, please include a video on your favorite places to eat in Zaragoza. That would be great! I was there last month and have already made reservations to return next Spring. What a beautiful city you're from. Bye for now, Carol
Coming back to Zaragoza? You really liked it! Delighted to hear that.
I forgot to mention … I enjoyed seeing the photo of yourself and Cecilia in costume. You both look lovely! Thanks for including it in your video.
@@carolcampa5900 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Gonzo in Plaza de los Sitios is great to eat in. I'm eating there tonight, also a great tapas restaurant ( which I only discovered last week ) is called Lekuna Pinchos. Its on Calle de Leon XIII. Pamplona is also very nice. Its on Calle de la Libertad. If you need anymore information I'm happy to help, as lived here just over a year, but my in laws are from here.
@phoenix0477 Thank you very much! We will make note of it. We ate at La Ternasca and La Migueria this past May, and we enjoyed them both.
Visited Zaragoza recently. Lovely city with beautiful landscape. I would like to learn the name of the music used at La Aljaferia , please. Gracias.
Glad you liked Zaragoza ! The music is called "Black Coffee" by The Middle East.
@@TonyGalvez Thanks a lot
¡Hola Tony y Cecelia! We are very grateful to you for all of your many videos that are helping us to plan our trip to Spain and Portugal next month. We will be riding trains throughout the Iberian Peninsula and have purchased our tickets using the tips you have given. My question to you is whether we as tourists will be able to utilize the Bizi Zaragoza Service?
Gracias por todo su arduo trabajo, Patrick y Julie.
¡Muchas gracias por vuestras palabras, Patrick y Julie! As far as we know, Bizi is just for residents. You need to get at least a monthly "abono", which is a kind of subscription. All the best!
Awesome place!
It is!
Hola Tony & Cecilia, trust you are well. I’m contemplating visiting Zaragoza on 20 March 24 - that’s 2 days before the start of the Easter events on 22 March. 2024.
My question is will visits to La Seo & El Pilar be affected/ closed on 20/3 in preparation for the Easter events ?
Additionally, a visit to La Aljaferia : can I assume full access is available from 10:00-14:00/16:00-18:30 (as per website). Reason for this question is that the building houses government offices.
Warm regards
Amy
Hi Amy, we're well, thank you. As you correctly researched, Easter events won't have any impact on life in Zaragoza on the dates of your intented trip. Evertyhing working as usual. But if you had the chance to be here during Easter, it is a very interesting and fascinating celebration. All the best.
Very good recommendations from my hometown. Great video! 🙃
Un saludo cordial desde nuestro hogar también.
Hi Tony. I’ve been watching and enjoying your videos for a while now. They are excellent, and I think they combine the visuals with some really useful information. We are spending a night in Zaragoza over Christmas and will be making a video there for our channel, so it was good to get some insider tips. Thanks again.
Thank you, Rob, hope you have a great time in Zaragoza. The main square where the cathedrals are looks specially nice and busy over the holiday period. All the best.
Great review, what a beautiful and structurally culturally rich city, how I missed it in my 2 visits to Spain?!
It's never too late!
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal indeed, a friend flying to Barcelona in few days and I told him today not to miss Zaragoza
Tapa bars would be great...el turbo para comer!
👍👍👍
Thank you 👏🏼I am coming to Barbastro in October so can visit on the 12th 13th 👍🏼 this was a fascinating glimpse of a beautiful city. Adios!
That's great, Linda, either on the 12th or on the 13th, you should have a great time in the city!
Wonderful video. So much so we are planning a side day trip from Madrid in December. Do you have any recommendations for tours or tour groups? Thank you!
Thank you! No specific recommendations, we always do things on our own, Zaragoza is quite easy to visit.
Thank you for all your information on Spain travel, it is very helpful. One question: if we plan to visit Madrid, Cordoba, Sevilla, Granada and Departure from Barcelona , what would be the best sequence: Madrid-Cordoba-Granada-Sevilla-flight to Barcelona or Madrid-Cordoba-Sevilla-Granada-flight to Barcelona? Thank you!
Thanks, JJ. We intend to create a consultancy service to help with queries like yours, but so far it is at a planning stage.
Great Video as usual. we loved Zaragosa when we visited in April (holy week), and were fortunate to see processions thru out the city. La Seo and Pilar cathedrals were gorgeous.
Yes please, video on tapas will be highly appreciated. we just stumbled on one local bar and they were quite friendly to non spanish speakers. We wished there were some videos on where to eat, we ended up eating in the chinese restaurant in calle alfonso near our hotel multiple times.
Hi Anna, how lucky you could visit Zaragoza during Easter, wonderful time to be in the city. That food video will take a while but we'll eventually get there, what a pity you ate on a Chinese restaurant (nothing against Chinese food!) with so many local choices in the region. All the best!
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal yes indeed! my sister even said : "check where Tony said to here in Zaragosa.' I said there were no video about that yet... so hopefully next time.
Hi Tony. What method do you use when researching a new place to eat in Spain? Google reviews? Thanks. David
Hi David, unlike YouTubbers who come once to Spain and record a video on the issue of eating in such and such city (some of them do a very good job out of it, others, don't), I've been traveling through Spain all my life, so I use a combination of my own experience, local friends recommendations and internet reviews. All the best.
Arriving in Zaragoza in two weeks. 60-somethings from northern CA who love farm to table but want some true tastes of Spain. Can you help with restaurant recommentations?
That video is still in the making. Try El Fuelle or La Ternasco.
Hi We're travelling to Zaragoza by car and staying at the Hotel Vincci Zaragoza Zentro. We've been reading about low emission zones. Do we have to register our uk car, if so how do we do that? Many thanks in advance
Hi, you won't be able to enter the LEZ with your UK car, but your hotel is just outside the restricted zone.
A video on the food of Zaragoza would be awesome. We split a week this spring between Salamanca and Zaragoza (shout out to your video on hotels in Zaragoza). And while Salamanca has possibly one of the greatest casco viejos in all of Spain, we struggled to find great food there. Maybe it was just bad luck. However, EVERYTHING we had in Zaragoza was fantastic. After watching this video, I see we will have to return to spend more time in the city.
Thanks, Fred, great to hear you ate so well in Zaragoza. We plan on recording that video, sometime in the future. All the best.
I'm going to Zaragoza tomorrow, for four days, I'm so excited! Thanks for this explanation :) But yeah what's with that photo ban at the cathedral, I'll just "pretend not to know about it" until someone yells at me.
Have a great time, David. The photo ban is absurd, it's the only Spanish cathedral I can think of (and we've been to quite a few) where photography is not allowed.
@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal I went inside the Pilar Basilica just now and saw no photo signs posted there as well. I ignored them, and no one said anything. Most people were ignoring them as well. I think if you don't visit during mass, it's OK.
@@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal my first impressions of your city are very good, such a beautiful place!
@@euroschmau the security guards inside the El Pilar can be a real pain if they see you taking pictures. Otherwise, pretend you are no different from the other tourists taking photos.
@@euroschmau 👏👏👏👏
One detail to keep in mind regarding the aljaferia is that you need reservations. Naive me tried to go today at 6pm but i couldn’t get in because there were no reservations. Bueno, hasta nunca.
Never ever we had problems entering the Aljafería without prior reservation, and I can tell you we've been there umpteenth times. But if you plan on going approaching the closing time a prior reservation might be a good idea.
