    Thanks for sharing! Wouldn't it be difficult to maintain and market when you have so many varieties with in a small area. You need different measures, watering etc which varies from one to other. Also when you marketing you have to find multiple traders/buyers as you have to deal with too many varieties and all in small portions. Please share your experience on this.

    Hello Mam, I from M.P started my own small Permaculture Farm just a few months ago. I am growing all kinds of vegetables in half of the area the other half i have left for dense tree plantation or food forest would appreciate your suggestions on the same.
    I have planted different types of trees on the boundary like Neem (both bitter and sweet), Guvava, Lemon, Moringa, Mango, Banana and quite a few papayas. This was done mostly on experimental basis and to create a mix of trees rather than mono cropping. All trees are 10ft apart except for Banana and Papaya which are planted in between two big trees like Guava and Neem

    Lapped up your video. It was a feast to the eyes and informative. When do you know its time to remove the sunflower crop? Do they flower only once? What do you do with your harvested cotton?

    • @farmaanandaa
      @farmaanandaa  Před 4 lety +1

      Once the sunflower is at its peak (the seeds are the biggest and the petals have dried up) then you know its time to harvest the flower for the seeds. If you wait a day or two extra, you may even see some flower seeds being eaten by birds - that's an indication that you should definitely harvest them. Yes each sunflower stalk flowers only once. With the harvested cotton, we made 4 quilts last winter. Planning to make a shawl with the cotton from this year.

    I'm curious

    • @farmaanandaa
      @farmaanandaa  Před 4 lety +3

      One of permaculture's design principles includes leaving a wildlife zone in your property. We rarely see snakes and other things because we have left space for them - they still have a habitat! If we had cut all the trees, cleared all the land and used chemicals to farm - we would have encountered many more animals as they would have no place to live.
      We live and let them live - that's our aim.
