I cannot believe you did not snorkel at blue heron bridge where you got on the boat.
That is the single best shore dive in the state of Florida.
You see eels, grouper, lobster massive star fish.
If you ever go back that’s where to do ur snorkeling.
Thanks for letting us know! The locals that took us on a boat ride on our second day at Peanut Island were talking about the great snorkeling there, but we just ran out of time. We will make a special trip to snorkel there. ❤️
I did my first 10 years growing up in west palm . We would go to peanut island . Wow that place has changed since the 60s

This is my fave place in South Florida. A lot of people don't even know about it.
We don't live too far away and hadn't heard of it before about a year ago. So surprising! Definitely a fun spot to enjoy over the weekend! 🌊

I used to swim to Peanut Island from my house when I was a kid.
Whoa! That's amazing! Did you literally swim to it? How was the boat traffic in those days? We can't imagine trying to cross the channel!
@@PSAdventures Hi yep I swam over - sometimes with a mask and snorkel. The boat traffic was light and didn't present much of a danger. There was hardly ever anyone on the island except for may a boat or two. The 'cudas staring up at me from the sunken boilers made me a little nervous, but you know as kids we felt pretty invincible.

I Love Peanut Island, we took the ferry over from Singer Island. The island certainly is a fun place and the water is beautiful. Nice to see you feature snorkeling in the crystal clear water. The fish are amazing. I think part of the island use to be a bunker or hideout for President Kennedy in case of war?
Whoah that's awesome that you got to get over to Peanut Island. We couldn't believe how beautiful it was and were so shocked by all of the fish! The city marina is where I car camp when I go diving. ;).
Nice! We might have seen you that day! On our morning breakfast walk, it was cool to see the divers getting ready in the marina. Is the diving good there? Maybe we'll have to get back into diving. It's been years! 😅

Hello Freeman! It's so gorgeous in this area with such clear water! From the view of the island looking out at the channel, Palm Beach is on the right (or south). When you're on your way to The Keys, definitely check out the West Palm area! you'll love it!

We're so happy you love it Jennifer! Peanut Island definitely reminded us of some of the other popular islands in the central Florida area that are more party islands. There was a ton of people but since we were on our own paddleboard it still felt like we could enjoy it by ourselves. The boat ride in the next video definitely got us out away from the crowds. It's a gorgeous area with really beautiful water!
I have been to Peanut Island but I think it was a on a state park side.
I went with family from West Palm Beach on a hokey boat tour including the local lore of who's who in the ownership of the very impressive waterfront homes we passed Through.
It seems JFK had a few Tet a Tet meetings nearby but hush hush no more.
Spielberg Barrymore several rock roll musician palaces a well known home that looked like Fort Knox also Pirate ship in dock also owned by rock star.
The beach was less crowed than your place. Shaded with picnic tables.
I had the best snorkeling experience in my life right there.
We brought some stuff to crumble in the water and the fish were abundant.
A large ray swam through .Shocking
I have snorkeled in Vietnam Bahama Dominican Republic Colombia all not as great as the first only time on Peanut Island.
Wow 💗 Thanks for sharing your awesome experience at Peanut Island! The water can be so amazing clear in South Florida. The trick is to catch the tide on the way in. When the tide is going out, it can take some of the murky river waters with it and makes the water look a little more cloudy. Especially wonderful that you saw a large ray!
Wow it's never been that crowded when I've been there You should try Phil Foster park under the bridge. Parking and snorkling is free. Man made reefs and lots more variety than Peanut.
There was a serious party going on at Peanut Island. Wow! It was definitely something to experience, but not if you want a quiet relaxing place to enjoy nature. Haha. We'll still be back for sure though. It was a lot of fun! 🌊

Wow! Thank you so much for the love Tina!! We've felt a little spoiled in the van lately but will definitely be tent camping again. We were actually just talking about how tent camping is much more immersive since you can hear all of the sounds at night and the morning and feel the weather a lot more. That's a good reminder since we need to upgrade our tent! It basically fell apart when we were tent camping in the Keys and it rained on us. We love little dogs but probably wouldn't get one since it would make travel a little more difficult. We have a lot of plans for the future. Thanks so much for watching! ❤️

Wow! I'll have to check that out! I'm in NE Fla with a kayak and so could easily make an overnight trip out of it (unless I can also luck into meeting some random people with a power boat the next day too 😃). Looking forward to seeing how the next day turns out! Have fun!
You would definitely love it Lisa! There's a lot to see around that area especially since you can go farther in a kayak. Make sure to bring an anchor since there's so many places that you could just hang out in shallow water. We really got lucky when the couple on the boat invited us aboard! We were so surprised but always have to jump at the chance to go on a boat. Ha! Thanks for watching! ❤️

When you see iron bars on the windows and doors of a neighborhood, it kind of makes you wonder. The area needs to clean up its act. Too many gangs and too many homeless people sucking off the system.

To be honest I used to swim over to it alot even before they built the docks out further 😂 than be to lazy to swim back always had to call someone with a boat to come get me
Haha! Wow that would be a bit of a swim but definitely doable! I'm sure after a few drinks though it'd be a good idea to grab a boat ride. That must have been quite an experience back then!

Hey guys it's me LOL I always revisit your old videos it occurred to me how the world are you guys traveling in this heat with no AC in the back of the van of course
Hey Kerry! That's a good question especially back at Peanut Island. When we filmed this it was hot! We had the roof fan and we also had a regular plug-in fan that we put near the bed and ran it all night long. Now we actually have a 12 volt fan that folds out right to the bed so it's way cooler now! If it was even hotter then we could even use the plug-in fan. The fans take way less power than an A/C would! In the daytime though we can turn the van on and run the A/C in the cab. We hope you're doing well!

Thanks for the love! We're glad you're here! Peanut Island was an amazing experience, and we thought it was completely do-able by paddle. We waited for a few minutes to let a string a boats pass, and then we made a run for it. 😎

Solar exhaust fan might help cool you guys down in the van
Thanks for the suggestion Christine! We have a roof exhaust fan that works nice to cool the van off but since it gets super hot here we also just installed a 12 volt swivel fan and also have one that plugs in! Can never have too many in Florida! 😆🔥🌡️
Hiya folks. I'm considering a Transit van in the future and would like to know where you got your foam mattress (most important), and maybe a few other things. Where did you get it, and do you have a list of where you got things?
Thanks so much for the question Steve! We actually bought our van already built out by another couple. We'll be putting together a list in the future but we'll have to find that out in case we ever need to replace it! We've heard a lot of people get their mattresses off Amazon can cut them to size. We've loved the Transit so far though. It's awesome! Good luck on finding the van you love!

Would you guys think this would be ok to kayak with our kids ? They are 8and 7. We have our own kayaks
That's a great question! We did see children on other kayaks, so it seems do-able. We wouldn't recommend that children have their own kayaks though, unless you're really confident in their kayaking skills, because of the channel with high boat traffic that we crossed to get to the island.
Did you take the kids? We are planning to do it next week.

Hey there! We launched from the Riviera Beach City Marina. There's even an easy unloading area that we will be sure to use next time!
Hey guys I keep forgetting to tell Paul get a blow up machine like for air mattresses that's what my wife does make your life a lot easier trust me plugs right into the car hope that helps unless you need to exercise lol
Haha! We had considered getting on of those 12 volt plug in inflators for the paddleboard but haven't gotten around to it yet. We also thought the exercise would be good for us. It's a little tough when it's hot out though. Great idea!

They used to have free camping on the west side of the island but there's not enough beach anymore 😢 that's back when it was legal to drink out there too so it was wild I miss those days
Oh that's interesting that there used to be more wild camping there. It looked pretty developed except for that massive empty spot in the middle of the island. That must have been a cool experience back then!

Good job for the video it was good guys !but I just went to it and it was horrible it felt like a swamp lake kinda full of rocks even though we see them and the water is the same thing like any other beach just at shore I is a bit clear this is good for people who like rocks , cold water and for rather short people for like 4.5 feet or 4.2 cause then you a grown up there because it is not deep at all! It is deep for people who are 4 .1 or 4 feet if your taller than that then you have to sit on the floor. And another thing is the boat is such a lie because the island it right there but they d a route that is longer so you think it is super far away and that to make you think that your going to a place that is the best place ever! But it is right in front of your face and I am referring that you should not come here and waste time and money
Thanks for the report! When we went the water was very clear. That might actually make sense though because I think when we went it was high tide so all of the clear ocean water came rushing in. At low tide I think all of the dark stuff from the river goes rushing out and make the water ugly and dark. We'll have to keep that in mind next time we go! Thanks for watching!

That's a tough one! It's right in the middle of West Palm, Singer Island, and Riviera Beach. Such a cool spot! 🌊😊

West Palm Beach is ok but it's nothing like Miami or Hallandale Beach its nothing really to do up there living there was boring, I rather stay in Hallandale Beach or Miami, or Hollywood.
It's hard to go wrong just about anywhere in Florida. There's so many tropical places to explore!
Miami is trash !!! It’s dirty and the tourist have ruined it ,,,, peanut island alone made me buy a house in Florida and that’s not even the main attraction however west palm is a last minute trip idea as I am moving to the fort pierce area (I’ve been told it’s ghetto but I will be living in a new construction area by Walmart )
